The Two Testates

There are two testates that keep us Christians in Truth. The first is The Bible, God's Word which has all the guidlines for good doctrine, safe practice, and how to seek the Lord. The second testate is The Holy Spirit. The part of the Triune God that gives us dicernment, prophecy, words of knowledge, tounges, faith, healing, and etc. (See 1 Corinthians 12:7-11, Ephensians 4:7-13, and Romans 12:3-8). Between these two there can be no error. A mentor in the faith once said, "All word and you dry up, all spirit and you blow up, both word and spirit and you grow up." The words of my friend in the faith are true. If you ascibe only to the Scriptures and reject the Holy Spirit's power and character, you shall become like stone. If you only move in the spirit and do not balence or analysis it with Scripture (through discipline) it can become intemperate and false spirits can come in trying to imitate the Holy Spirit; this is why you must know the Fruit of the Spirit: "But the fuit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control." (Galatians 5:22-23).

The Scriptures and The Spirit are the two solid rocks upon which we can measure our walk with the Lord. If what you are experiancing is not in the Bible, then question it and even leave it for further discernment. If there is something that is not directly covered by the Word of God, use reasoning from the other subjects it covers. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you determine if it is sound doctrine or a heresy that will hinder many. Too many in history ran with an idea and never measured it with the Scriptures or the Holy Spiriit and the result was catrostrophic.

Read the Bible daily and soak in the Holy Spirit. Jesus shall speak through both and guide you to Himself. Meditate (dwell) on the Words of the Lord day and night. Pray and let the Rouch (Holy Spirit) guide your road. There are pieces of spiritual wisdom and insight outside The Bible, but they should always been measured by The Old and New Testaments and then again by The Holy Spirit. Knowing the Scripture and the Spirit will keep youi from serious error. If you hear or feel something in the spirit, but question it, look to Scrioture and see if it alligns with the character of Christ. If you cannot find the answer in the Scripture, because your problem is century specific, seek the Holy Spirit and let him send you the answer. If a pastor or preacher seems to be twisting the Scripture to fit an agenda, the Holy Spirit will help you discern and correct.

Scripture will help guide you to lean on the Spirit of God. The Spirt of God will lead you to Scripture to get answers called Lectio Divna or a word that is specifically for you in the lines of God's Word. For istance what the prophets and priests of the Lord wrote had purpose for that time period, but those same words can have relevance in our present time. For much is still unfulffilled and is not coming to pass, and the Word of God trascends with the Holy Spirit's help. Between these two you shall not fall into error easily, for you will have twin shields and swords for the serpent. Saturate in the Bible (not the Mormon, Coptic, or Nostic), the Holy Bible. Set in the presence of the Holy Spirit and let it settle your soul and show you how to seek The Father and Christ's Will. Most cults begin by claiming the Holy Spirit is "doing a new thing (that doesn't need Scripture or use it as guide),": or that :we are the special remnant and must recluse in a small settlement." If you use the Scriptures you shall see that Jesus said, "I have spoken openly to the world, I always taught in syanagogues or at the temple, here all Jews come together, I said nothing in secret," (John 18:20) and "All nations shall come to the Lord (not just some small group in Kansas) and my house shall be called a House of Prayer for all nations" (Isaiah 56:7). Other cults make Scripture the only source and try to stifle the Spirit and as result the Lord leaves their church, because He is not welcome to move, show up, and act.

As followers of Christ we need both The Holy Scriptures and The Holy Spirit to keep us in balence and from falling prey to bad theology, doctrine, and practices.

Israel’s Conquest of Canaan: The Nephilim and Giants

Christianity Today asserts that the conquest of Canaan can be a “stumbling block” for believers. This probably is because of a foolish idea of comparing it to a modern conquest happening in our world. The truth is that God had Israel conquer Canaan because it was ruled by evil giants, “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” (Numbers 13:33). These are Anakim or Nephilim, the children of angels and human women, “When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God (angels) saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. The...

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. According to Darb'ys doctrine of Dispensationalism, God dispenses different covenants. There are total of seven dispensations that divide the history of man: I. Dispensation of Innocence (prior to the Fall, "Do not east of the Fruit of Good and Eve, Eden), II. Dispensation of Conscience ( You must assuage guilt and sin with blood sacrifices.) III. Dispensation of Human Government (Multiply and Subdue the world, example the Tower of Babel Gen 11:1-9, and Genesis 1:28). IV. Dispensation of the Promise (Dwell in Canaan, Jerusalem) V. Dispensation of the Law ("Obey the Law of Moses and the Prophets"). VI. Dispensation of Grace (The Church, Jesus Christ has come...

Jesus’ Name in Aramaic

There has been a trend to render Jesus’ name Hebrew, יֵשׁוּעַ , Yeshua. The problem is neither Christ nor his apostles, nor the Jews in 30-33 A.D. spoke Hebrew, they spoke Aramaic. A ramaic is the oldest language on earth and was the language Jesus spoke. In fact, the oldest Old Testament is the Septuagint a Greco translation around 132 B.C.E. (165 Years Before Christ)that was translated from Aramaic. The Masoretic Text, The Hebrew Old Testament most Bibles use, dates from 7th to 10th Century A.D. (Medieval Times).  This translation does not cross reference with the words of Christ in the New Testament which are Aramaic and Koine Greek.  If the Aramaic was what Jesus spoke, then by what name would have been called? Jesus’ name in Aramaic is Isho or Eesho, spelled ܝܫܘܥ . That is the name of our Lord in Aramaic! He would have heard his name in this dialect, “Hail Isho or Eesho!” as well as the Greek, Ἰ ησο ῦ ς , Iesous.  Aramaic is disappearing, only a few peop...
