The Color of God

In Western culture we are taught to associate red with rage, fury, anger, lust, and power. Villians in our films and video games often wear red, or combination of black and red like Darth Maul . This conditioning of association, making children to adults believe red is bad and blue is good is Satanic. For the Scriptures actually tell us that God is red. Behold, " The One seated there looked like jasper and carnelian , and a rainbow gleaming like an emerald encircled the throne ." (Revelation 4:3). The Almighty is described in appearance like jasper a red stone, and carnelian a red mineral. We then read Jesus Christ who is fullness of the Godhead in bodily form (Col 2:9) is clothed in red first at his Crucifixion and second at His Second Coming, " Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole Roman cohort around Him. They stripped Him and put a scarlet robe on Him. And after twisting together a crown of thorns, they put i

The Myths versus The Message: Updated 5/10/2015

Truth and Myth are antithesis. Myths try to make Truth a memory and make believe. This is the danger of myth, it has enough truth to deceive and yet it castes doubt and unbelief on Truth. We are living in a renaissance or resurgence of myths. Stories that once were from antiquity now are making a comeback. From The Lord of the Rings (J.R.R. Tolkien)  which is simply The Ring Saga of the Nordic People, to Superman who is Hercules in Kyptonian form, and to even Egyptian mythos in the recent Gods of Egypt starring Gerald Butler, the entire entertainment industry is flooded with the mythos, the pythons that try to choke the word of God (Mark 4:19, Matt 13:22). Many believe myths and legends are harmless, that because they are preported to be based on fact, they have relevance, but in truth they are danger to Truth. They sharpen their spears, put shells in their cannons, and use their sorcery to drown out Scripture and lead people astray. More people today are zealous and devout enou

Patience is Legend: How Virtue is being Repalced by the Virtual

Patience is a virtue. Well it was, now it is a legend. There was a time when mankind learned patience, had to stand in lines, wait their turn, had to go to bookstore and if the book was not there, wait six days to receive it. Now patience has been made obsolete, people can download anything, books, movies, music, information, data, and anything under the sun in manner of seconds. No one really waits in line anymore, they are on their Smartphones, tablets, Google glasses, and iWatches. No one has to endure waiting on subway to arrive at work or in cab, they can watch a movie, serf the web, go to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and more. The perpetuating of this "I can have it Now" and instant everything has eliminated the capacity for mankind to have patience and many of the other virtues, that can only be learned through experience. While I do not like Morgan Freeman anymore, I do agree with a lines in " Evan Almighty ," when he speaks to protagonist's wife,

The Pure in Heart: The Problem of Idolatry in the Church

Idolatry is a major problem in the Church today. It was a problem back in 33 A.D. and even before that. Jesus said, " Blessed are pure in heart for they shall see God ." (Matthew 5:8). What does it mean to be pure in heart? It means to have undefiled soul, and it alludes to what Jesus says later, " The Greatest commandment is to Love the Lord (Jesus and Jehovah, see Romans 10:9) your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, this is the greatest and foremost commandment ." (Matthew 22:36-38). This command of Christ is in effect paying homage to first four commandments given to Moses, " I am the Lord (Jehovah)  your God, who rescued you from the land of Egypt, the place of your slavery. You must not have any other god but me. You must not make for yourself an idol of any kind or an image of anything in the heavens or on the earth or in the sea. You must not bow down to them or worship them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God who will not t
