Jesus Locked Out of Churches?

We are living in some rather unusual times. The Age of Reason is over, and the Age of Mysticism and Spiritism has begun. It is no longer Charles Darwin and Stoics who assault the Church, but the mystical philosophies and practices of the East. The world at large is becoming spiritualist, the supernatural is now the focus, and in sense of irony, the Church is become intellectualized and a harbor or moseleum for the Age of Reason. In a bizaree twist, when Darwin and the skeptics made war on God, the Church remained spiritual, holding fast in prayer and the power of God. Now as mystical powers arrive from India to Indonesia, the Church intends to fight with reason, and it shall lose. As the old adage goes, "fight fire with fire," so it must be in this age of spiritsm. But many of the churches in the West have submitted to Minerva and Reason based tactics. The problem is that the war has shifted from arguments to angels, we are at war with unseen forces now (Ephesians 6:12), p

Hannukah: How to Celebrate Christ During The Festival of Lights

The Feast of Hanukah often falls during Christmas time. It is an nine day celebration to remember a miracle during The Maccabees, when the menorah lamp burned for nine days without any oil. This miracle was celebrated by the Messiah, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In fact, it was at The Feast of Dedication or Festival of Lights, Hanukah, that Jesus revealed something major about Himself: " Jesus Asserts His Deity. At that time the Feast of Dedication [Festival of Lights, Hanukkah, Chanukah] took place at Jerusalem. 23  It was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple [area] in Solomon’s portico. 24  So the Jews surrounded Him and began saying to Him, “How long are You going to keep us in suspense? If You are [really] the Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed), tell us so plainly and openly.” 25  Jesus answered them, “I have told you so, yet you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father’s name testify concerning Me [they are My credentials and the evidence declar

Christmore: More of Christ At Christmas

During this time of year, we celebrate the Birth of Jesus Christ our Lord, God, and Savior. Churches and homes alike will be decked with The Nativity scenes of the Christ Child, Mary, Joseph, Magi, Shepherds or shepherd boy, angels, and animals. While I whole heartily agree it is worth celebrating Christ's Birthday, and to remember that God became flesh (John 1:14), and came in most humble of ways, as a baby boy (Matthew 1:25-26). It has however dawned upon me, that since it is Christ's Birthday it really should be celebration of what the Birth meant, and why God came as child into the world. The Ultimate Goal was that He died as man, a grown adult at 33yrs of age on a Roman cross for sins of the whole world, and to rose from dead on the third day. It then stands to reason that since purpose was reconciliation, that Christ Jesus reconciled us to the Father, Himself, and Holy Spirit, One God in Three Persons, Blessed Trinity, that the Birth is only the beginning and it is qu

Christmas Comfort

This year the Christmas decorations have flown off the shelves, and everyone seems to be "decking the halls" early. The reason I believe people have become zealous to dive into Christmas, is the world right now is rather dark. The sexual scandals and accusations of once believed to be respected people is enough to scare anyone from dating any time soon lest they be next name add to list of offenders. The threat of World War III breaking out between the US and North Korea, and China, Japan, and Russia has many restless. The possibility of nuclear war with North Korea and Iran in prospective future is enough to make Zombie Apocalypse shows seem homey and uplifting. Then there is just a sense of deep despair in the air, as the world seems on brink of a major disaster, even the Patriarchate of Russia has said, " The leader of the Russian Orthodox Church said Monday the world is on the brink of slipping into “the abyss of the end of history,” according to a state-run news

Deliverance versus Exorcism

Deliverance ministries have become all the rage in these days, as purported Deliverance ministers introduce a world of the supernatural and demonic (demonology) to a new generation. At first glance these exorcists seem to be echoing Ephesians, where the Apostle Paul says, " For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places . Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm . " (Ephesians 6:12-13), however, it helps to understand that the Deliverance that Jesus Christ did and gave to His Apostles to minister is not same as most modern day Exorcists. When Jesus ever purged a person of a demon He called it " And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons ; they will speak in new tongues; They w

Christmas Craziness: Black Friday

Every last Friday of November is known as the ominous, "Black Friday." A day when people in the hope of great savings, make haste to stores to buy presents for the Holidays, i.e. Christmas. The frenzy is palpable, as in yester year, people have pummeled and pushed one another to the ground to gain their prize. Black Friday, is indeed black, much like Black Plague, infecting millions every year as they seek to get the "Great Deal" of the year. This quest for presents, the zeal behind it, not entirely evil, but I have begun to question the motive. In a world where love is growing cold (Matthew 24:10-13), I find it ironic there is a mad dash to provide tangible proof of love and care for others with arguably the most easy way of faking love. Sociopaths and psychopaths, which are incapable of love, can fake it by giving gifts (usually with invisible strings attached). They can never replicate the forms of love such as affectionate touch, time spent, words of affirm

Beware of False Teachers

I was recently watching a series by R.C. Sproul , a respective and revered scholar and theologian on " Justification by Faith ." Sproul in his exegesis made a statement, he said "When it says we receive righteousness, it is not the Righteousness of God, but a righteousness that God has made for us and given to us through Christ." I was astounded that such an imminent and renowned Bible scholar would say such utter error. The Scriptures contest Sproul's teaching, " And this righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no distinction ," (Romans 3:22), " Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making His appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ: Be reconciled to God, For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God ," (2 Corinthians 5:20-21), " It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has be
