Godzilla King of Monsters (2019) Spoiler Review

I began my Gojira journey when my ma put the original 1954 classic on the telly, and I watched Godzilla rampage through Tokyo. Back then the King of Monsters was a metaphor for the Atomic age and Japan’s way of telling us how terrifying Nagasaki and Hiroshima were. Since the black and white classic I entered the Showa and Heisei eras, watching my favorite Kaiju battle his foes and defend earth from the likes of Ghidorah, MechGodzilla, Gigan, Megalon, and more. I was gleeful when Godzilla found a reluctant mate named Biolante (she played hard to get), love Godzilla’s grandson and true enemy SpaceGodzilla, heartbroken when Destroyah destroyed Gojira, and found the Millenium era of films medicore. I enjoyed Broderick's US attempt, and the sequel cartoon series. I loved the new anime of Godzilla on Netflix (mini series, three parts), I enjoyed the Godzilla 2014 US reboot, but I adore King of Monsters (2019)! I will say King of Monsters had the best combo of mythos, Kaiju fights

Keep Doing Good

In these times it can be tempting  to question the Lord’s path. Much like thePsalmist we may find ourselves saying, “For I envied the proud when I saw them prosper despite their wickedness.” (Psalm 73:3). We as Christians find ourselves befuddled, why do the wicked prosper and the good suffer punishment in this life? Well the answer has eternal significance.  Contrary to the prosperity doctrine taught in Western Christendom, persecution not prosperity is the normal  outcome of following Christ. Many teachers have tried to divorce tribulation from the Christian faith, when Christ promised it, “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows (tribulations). But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33). There is no promise of an end of trials until Jesus comes again, “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death' or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has

Jesus Freak: What It Takes to Survive Persecution

The times are growing dark for the church. In Sri Lanka hundreds have been massacred, in Nigeria over seventy Christians are killed a day minimum. In North Korea it has been confirmed that there concentration camps of over 300,000 Christians. In China the houses of Christians are raided for all religious paraphernalia and Bibles cannot even be bought via eReaders or apps. The BBC recently announced that we are now at near genocidal levels of Christians being slaughtered ( https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.com/news/amp/uk-48146305 ). This as the Roman Catholic Church plunges into more scandal and a recent shooting in the North America of a Pentecostal Church.  It is becoming dangerous to be a Christian. Suddenly those atrocious persecutions of the church under the Cesars Nero, Caligula, and Domitian do not seem so distant. And the words of our Lord and God Jesus Christ make sense:  “I have said all these things to you to keep you from falling away. they will put you out o
