Thoughts On Psychology

Nowadays everyone is labeled. If you struggle with anxiety, you have anxiety disorder, mood swings you are Bipolar or Borderline Personality Disorder, if you struggle with excessive order and neatness its OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), and so on. What if none of these are true? What if mood swings people have demons or having no self control, a fruit of the Spirit? (Galatians 5:22-23). What if anxiety could be solved by obeying Peter’s words, “Cast all your anxiety on Jesus because he cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7). What if depression isn’t mental deficiency, but normal blues, I mean The Psalms and Ecclesiastes in the Bible have deep depression in them. What if its all just different personality types prone to hyperactivity and sociableness or melancholy and depression?    What if we are labeling people and telling them they are defective when they are “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” (Psalm 139:14).  I

Precious Jesus

The Band Third Day has done some major hits, one of which was “King of Glory.” The song highlights what is most precious of all, Jesus our King of Glory: “Who is this King of glory that pursues me with His love And haunts me with each hearing of His softly spoken words My conscious, a reminder of forgiveness that I need Who is this King of glory who offers it to me Who is this King of angels, O blessed Prince of Peace Revealing things of Heaven and all its mysteries My spirit's ever longing for His grace in which to stand Who is this King of glory, Son of God and son of man His name is Jesus, precious Jesus The Lord Almighty, the King of my heart The King of glory Who is this King of glory with strength and majesty And wisdom beyond measure, the gracious King of kings The Lord of Earth and Heaven, the Creator of all things He is this King of glory, He's everything to me His name is Jesus, precious Jesus The Lord Almighty, the King of my heart The King of glory The Lord of Ear

The Holy Grail

There are few sacred objects that are so sought after as The Holy Grail. The Ark of the Covenant is a close second, but the Graal has always been the stuff of adventures. In the Middle Ages tales arose of King Arthur and His Knights of the Round Table searching for The Cup of Christ. It was considered the quest of all quests and is recorded in The Lancelot-Grail Cycle in four volumes, and usually centers around Sir Percizval or Sir Galahad being pure enough in heart to find it.    In The Lancelot-Grail Cycle the holy angels tell Lancelot he was suppose to find The Grail, but his affair with Guinevere made him unworthy, there is a very said moment when Lancelot weeps realizing he gave up his calling for the carnal lusts of the flesh. The angels then let him see the Grail in a vision due to his contrition, and it reminds me of Moses being able to see The Promise Land but not enter in. It is then Galahad, Lancelot’s son from his wife who replaces him and finds the grail.  Lancelot’s trage

The Buddhist Influences in Star Wars

Ahsoka Tano, the former apprentice of Anakin Skywalker has her own series on Disney+. For some time I have noticed the Buddhist influence in Star Wars, particularly the detachment teachings of the Jedi that mirror Buddha’s teachings of The Middle Path. I just discovered the name Ahsoka is very close to Ashoka, who was an Emperor in 268-232 B.C. who adopted Buddhism and was instrumental in spreading it. The name Mara as in Mara Jade Skywalker in the EU is based on Mara, a representation of temptation of vice and hindrance to enlightenment in Buddhism. Yoda according to George Lucas is based on Buddhist monk he met in India before filming 1977 Star Wars: A New Hope, it is intriguing how close Yoda is to Yoga which is tied to Buddhism, even containing the lotus position of Buddha that the Jedi pose in when they meditate. Padme, Anakin’s wife actually means lotus which means wisdom in Buddhism. George Lucas is a professed Methodist-Buddhist. Qui-Gon Jinn’s name is close to Buddhist pract

The Reality of Being A Christian

The Prosperity Doctrine has greatly damages the church. Its preachers have convinced fellow Christians that following Christ equals prosperity, a peaceful life, and lots of possessions. That is a lie. Jesus meant spiritual abundance not fiscal, “I came in order that they [believers] might continuously have life, even that they may  continuously  have it  all-around  ( 4053   /perissós ).” (John 10:10), that is eternal life! Your life is more abundant because it is without end. Jesus offers peace but not a peaceful life as the world gives, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid,” (John 14:47), He promises a sword, “Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. And a person's enemies wil
