Trinity: How Do I Relate to the Godhead?

Understanding the Holy Trinity (Father, Jesus, and Holy Spirit) is beyond the finite minds God put in our heads. However, after understanding that God is triune it might become concerning for Christians if they are following the Lord correctly? Is it alright that I focus on Jesus more? Do I have to pray in the name of the "Father, Son and Holy Spirit?" What about the Pater Noster or "Our Father Prayer?" It doesn't mention Jesus. The questions like a vine grow. Since much confusion surrounds the Trinity, I have endeavored in this post to help settle these possible concerns. For those concerned about perfectly acknowledging the Triune nature of God; here are the verses to for you: " Anyone who has seen me, has seen the Father. So why do you ask to 'see the Father? ." (John 14:9) If the focus of your devotion in prayer and relating to the Triune God is Jesus Christ, that is perfect! because when you see Jesus you see the Father and consequent

Jesus Christ: There is Something About That Name

"Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, there is just something about that name. Master, Savior, Jesus, let all heaven and earth proclaim! Kings and kingdoms may pass away, but there is something about that name." Jesus was not just a carpenter, He is the Christ. Jesus was God made flesh, come to save sinners from everlasting death. Jesus is the Son of God and Messiah; He is the Alpha and Omega. Jesus and Jehovah (The Father) are One (essence) and The Holy Spirit proceeds from them both (John 14:26). Jesus is both Savior and Judge; He is full of mercy and justice. There is no one like Him and His impact ripples through the ages until His Return. A world without Jesus is dark like that night of His Birth in Bethlehem. It that dark hour of history, when Rome ruled the world and the oppression of the Cesar in full force, a tender and loving God came into the world the same way we did. That moment forever altered this world. God came to us, he humbled himself and became as meek as child. Wh

The Stages of Grief

Psychology is a bag of truths and lies. The truths apply to the nature in us and the lies are the labels for every behavior that does not fit in pseudo-Utopian society. I want to discuss the five stages of grief. These stages I believe are authentic, but I would like to explore them with Christ, not humanistic ideals. The first stage of grief is DENIAL. Denial is the atypical response of anyone who is grieving the loss of something. It can be a job, a friend, family, or even a house. Denial is a delusional state of being where you are convinced you have not lost anything or you try to suppress the thought of the loss with diversions, projects, entertainments, activities, and etc. Denial is dangerous if kept unchecked because it can cause people in grief to adopt irrational perspectives on their world and life. The second stage of grief is ANGER. Anger is the proper response to loss or being hurt by someone deeply. Anger is not evil, but if not bridled it can cause property d

Users and Abusers

There are toxic people. People who will use you and abuse you. They are family members, friends, and fiends you do not know. Users are people who spend time with you to get something. Sometimes this is tangible like a money, gifts, and etc. Other times it is to use up your time to fill up their need for attention. Users will be with you as long as you give them what they want; if you keep babysitting their children they will keep in contact, but should you cease being their nanny they will not speak to you but seldom. Another example is that if you spend money on a user, buying them nice things and lunches, they will meet you anytime and talk to you. But once you decide to make boundary that you will not go over your budget, they suddenly are busy all the time. The Abuser sometimes is the User, but can be without the user mentality. Abusers come in all kinds: physical (the literally beat people black and blue or worse), emotional (the mind games, lying, disrespect, and condescendi

Being Thankful

For Americans Thanksgiving is a day when families gather together and enjoy a feast. The origin of the holiday dates back to The Pilgrims who left merry old England because of religious persecution and to create a new colony. At this colony they suffered great loss of life. On the harvest that the Pilgrims thrived thanks to the Lord and the Indians like Squanto, they held a great feast to give thanks. Like many holidays the original meaning has gotten lost in the commercialism. Thanksgiving is now more about being a glutton for a day than God's provision and loving kindness. As Christians we should be thankful. The Good Lord has given us so much! For many it may seem like there isn't much to give thanks about; their families are falling apart, friends going afoul, and finances are consumed by debt. But there is something we can all be thankful for.. each breath and the fact we are here. We are not promised tomorrow Jesus says and yet we are ever conscious of the future a

Is Jesus Enough?

When you go to Church you will hear songs or hymns that say, "Jesus is all I need." If you attend a Catholic or Orthodox Church you will see Christ upon the cross at the altar or his icon at the center of the Iconostasis ruling everything. As Christ followers we profess that Jesus is enough, but do our lives reflect it? We want to be "not of this world," but at the same time "of the world." People, especially believers are becoming less content with each century. There was a time when many believers found full satisfaction in suffering for the sake of their Savior. They endured hardships that would harden the hearts of nominal believers today. Is Jesus enough? A question that haunts the conscientious Christian. It is easy to make Christ a part of your life, but what about making Him your life? Can the Savior sustain you if all was lost? If your family, friends, and possessions were striped away; would you stay true to Christ? Better yet would you will

Satan's Second Deception

Most of us are familiar with the Great Deception; the moment when the devil deceived Adam and Eve with the belief that if they ate of the Forbidden Fruit they would be like God. The result was separation between the Almighty and Adam. Before the Fall via the Forbidden Fruit, God and Man related to each other easily. It says in Genesis, "God walked with Adam in the Garden." (Reference to God walking in the Eden: Genesis 3:8). The relationship between God and Adam was personal but Satan knew he could disrupt this with sin. When man and woman fell, it became impossible to relate to the Almighty as they had before. There was a divide; we had sin which causes us to die in the Lord's presence (Exodus 33:20). Our Heavenly Father had to relate to people indirectly after the Fall, he spoke to Abraham via a voice, to Moses via a Burning Bush, and to Priests in the Holy of Holies in the Temple. The result was a people who feared God, but did not fellowship with him. They became l

Jesus is My Hallmark

I have grown weary of sappy love stories Hallmark peddles out every year and at all seasons. They sing the song that we single folk need to find our soul mate; that a significant other who will make our lives spectacular! I have news for you Hallmark, I already have a soul mate and His name is Jesus! He did more than date me, he died for me! Stay with me and I will explain. From Hollywood to Hallmark, the industry is trying to convince people that they need a romantic relationship. They paint being single as sorrowful and that if we can just find that special someone, our stars will align and our every happiness satisfied. The truth, we already have received our soul mate in the Savior! The reason we are not content is that we buy into the lies of Aphrodite and are convinced that we need a significant other to be happy. The truth: we can only be happy when we find our happiness in Christ! If you expect a spouse to be the key to merriment for the many years to come you will be sor

The Knights Templar: Truth vs Tale Tales (Updated 11/21/2014)

The Knights Templar are shrouded in the legends of the Shroud of Turin and The Holy Grail. Their reputation has become cloaked in Dan Brown's mythos of the Da Vinci Code and their purpose distorted by Free Masonry in films like National Treasure . Most people encounter the Poor Soldiers of Jesus Christ of the Temple of Solomon in video games. The Assassin's Creed franchise alone covers an unending conflict between The Assassins and the Templars throughout the centuries. My first encounter with the Templars was in Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade . At the climax of the film, Indie enters a sacred chamber where a Knight of the Temple stands guard over the Holy Grail. I like most viewers became enthralled with the scene as Jones deciphered which of the many graals was the true Holy Chalice. But again this is fiction, the Holy Grail and its associate with the Knights Templar is legend. So who were these Knights in White with Crimson crosses emblazoned on their surcoats?

Do Not Go Where I Cannot Follow

As believers we hold on to unfailing love and forgiveness of Christ. We find comfort in promise that the Lord will "never leave us or forsake us." (Hebrews 13:5, Deuteronomy 31:6). However, there is another side to it all. There is a point of "no return" and that is what Church has failed to address. The truth is that Jesus will always love you. Nothing can take away His love and your eternal destination of heaven is written in the Book of Life. However, there is the issue of this life. We can either obey the Lord and cease participating in sin that opens us up to demonic spirits or we can continue the path of rebellion and let out lives reflect evil rather than the Light of God. There is a point when Jesus will say, "I cannot follow." You can reach a place of such rebellion and devilry in your actions and inthe supernatural world that the Lord cannot rescue you. It is not that He is powerless to save us, but that we have made the rebellious choice of

Following Jesus, Not His Followers

As Christians we often get deceived by other Christians. It is not the extrinsic evils: the devils, demonized masses, and devious desires that threaten our faith most. No the real threat comes in sheep's clothing and has many steeples. The Church unfortunately has become the worst place to find God these days (there are exceptions, but they are few). It is as if Jesus is no longer in his house. What remains is people who have their systems and methods of spirituality, but there is no Savior there. The statistics are staggering, people are leaving the Church in unprecedented numbers. More interestingly,  those who are apart of this mass exodus are not leaving Jesus. Wait.. Christians are leaving Church, but not Christ? Yep. Actually the two are not mutually exclusive. One does not need a Church to follow Jesus. In fact the very structure of today's churches is exactly what Jesus Christ rebuked when he confronted The Pharisees and Sadducees (Matthew 15). Christ seldom visite
