Why is God Delaying My Healing?

It is no secret the church is under siege. The world and its prince are hard at work in persecuting the saints. The time to dig in and stand firm is now, but what do you do when in the trenches you feel the Lord has abandoned you, is delaying your healing or even help. What are we to make of these moments that make us furious, wanting to shout, “Lord! Don’t you see I am already suffering for your name?! Why is your presence so far from me? Why are others being healed but I am still waiting?! Why won’t you help me? Your servant.” I know how to frame those sentences because I’ve been there too, even recently. Why does it seem God is so far away in these troubles? What happened to “my power is manifest in weakness,”? I am weak, please, show yourself!  The answer I have found is we arn’t looking carefully enough. We only want to see the answer we want to see. If God chooses another way to help, it often is ignored or decried. I’ll give a recent experience someone I know had. They had jus

The Space Odysseys: Alien, Star Wars, Star Trek, and More

Space captivates. It is one of the few places left untouched by man. It is an “undiscovered country.” (Hamlet, Shakespeare). This fascination with the cosmos has prompted many space odysseys in Hollywood. Tales of the perils and wonders of the black void. What is common in all of these ‘masterpieces’ is antichrist sensibilities.  2001 Space Odyssey  The slow thriller of Hal and his team on space station controlled by A.I. In the form of a red eye has become a classic. Before there was Terminator, there was this movie, but unlike Skynet which turns on the human race on earth, this one does so in space. The ending has Hal becomes a spirit baby which is major belief in Mormonism, Ghana mysticism, and Buddhist Kuman Thong.  I would like to point out most of great space story creators are Buddhist. George Lucas (Star Wars) is a Methodist-Buddhist, Gene Roddenberry (Star Trek) had a Buddhist wedding, and Frank Herbert (Dune) became a Buddhist. All three of these giants of space odysseys in

A Quiet Place Part I and II Reviews

MAJOR SPOILERS!!! John Krasinski was known for his humor in “The Office,” but now he may go down as the heir apparent to Alfred Hitchcock, the mantel last being upon Stephen Spielberg. A Quiet Place is Krasinki’s ode into the realm of horror, suspense, and thriller. His terrors aptly named Death Angels will find themselves on a mantel with the Xenomorph from Alien, the Yautja from Predator, and the other monsters that have captivated our craven imaginations.  A Quiet Place Part I is a masterpiece of suspense, giving us tension that at times is deafening. The story of the Abbot family surviving the tempest of the creatures, who hunt by sound reminds me of Noah’s family, the last people on earth who have hope. The sequel (Part II) which now is available on Paramount+ streaming service and to buy in early access on Amazon Prime continues this notion that the Abbot family are guardians of hope. Not only do they have the weapon to stop and kill the Death Angels, they believe in people, th

The Statue in Daniel “New Perspective”

The statue in Daniel is one of the great stories in the Bible. The prophet Daniel interprets a dream for the King of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar, who has a dream of a statue of many types of metal: gold, silver, bronze, iron, and iron/ clay. I was ruminating on this statue as I thought about the Church and how it has evolved and here is what I came up with.  Gold -Christ and The Apostles This was the golden age of the Church when our Lord Jesus walked the earth and his teachings had not be sullied by the ambitions of men. This period was the time of the purity of the Gospel, when all knew faith alone in Jesus saves (Acts 15:11, John 3:16, Ephesians 2:8-9).  Silver -The Apostolic Era The period that followed after the last apostle died, when Christians were severely persecuted, even fed to lions and made to be human torches. In this time the Gospel was tarnished, like silver not cleaned, with the false addition of martyrdom being required for salvation.  Bronze -The Heretics  This was the
