The Problem of Pervasive Langauge

Our cultures are steeped in cussing. You cannot go to a film or listen to most music without pervasive speech being involved. Such language has become so common place, that most Christians abide it and even participate on occasion. In the Scriptures it says, "Do not let any unwholesome, foul, and abusive talk or language come out of your mouth, but only what is helpful for building up others according to their needs." (Ephesians 4:29).

Many Christians are unaware of the origins of most curse words. The most used one, known as the F Word comes from Satanic Ritual Abuse (SRA) where they take a virgin and put them in circle or pentagram and many men have sex with her to pass demons (The Origin of the F Word, Former Warlock turned Pastor). The S world is the name of a demon. Using the word suck, which is now not consider a bad word, alludes to succubus (sexual) spirits and had its origins in oral sex.

So why do people call upon demonic powers in their distress? More curious is why Christians would openly practice these words? Among cursing is also taking the Lord's name in vain. People say Jesus' name but in a degrading and curse like tone. It seems in most films the only time Christ's name is mention is in swearing.

Pervasive language is like a pernicious mental illness. Once people start talking in such ways it become difficult to not talk that way. It is an infection, a plague of sorts for the speech. It denotes several things about those who harbor it: one that they are uneducated and can only repeat the same vulgar words over and over and two that they have nothing worthwhile to say. Vile speech is rampant and the cure is almost elusive. For believers there is insensitive to cease cursing, but that is usually because of attending Church or being around other Christians. To stop speaking such sickening words takes resolve and the help of the Holy Spirit. Some people say they cannot heal their tongue, that they have Coprolalia (once called Tourette Syndrome). I do not buy such a diagnosis and mind you that I respect the psychology field. Coprolalia is involuntary and an inability to control cursing randomly. Well I argue this is demonic and not just a mental illness. Because the curse words channel and call the demons to a person, it is viable and thus believable that they can enter the person or at least oppress them and feed them thoughts.

I have witnessed in collage how an entire classroom can be transformed by cursing. In one particular class, there was an individual who started using profanity and the entire room began to laugh and cheer. Suddenly the atmosphere or vibe of the room changed and now it was about being cool and cursing than learning anything. In addition to this, I have noticed teachers start using pervasive language to get students to engage. Instead of being educators with moral authority and expecting excellence, they stoop down to swearing to become popular with the class and keep their attention.

It is becoming difficult to wade through this world when so many have succumbed to speaking obscene and morally repugnant words. One cannot go very far anywhere without hearing utterances of the familiar but foul words we have all heard at least in a movie. As a solution I recommend that as Christians we not only refrain and resist speaking in such perverse ways, but that when we hear it we tell the person "so are you a Satanist?" if they say the F word or start singing praises to the Lord! If the cursing individual says that your worship offends them or makes them uncomfortable, retort back "your cursing offends me and makes me uncomfortable." These are some radical steps, but at least resist the urge to conform to this world. Remember we are "not to conform to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our minds." (Romans 12:2)

To renew our minds we must commune with Christ. We know that no unwholesome word came out of Jesus' mouth. He even said to bless those who curse you and to forgive those who use you. Even on the cross when being mocked Jesus forgave his enemies and urged us to love those who hate us. This does not mean we are to be spineless, nay on the contrary, to bare insult and not retaliate or offer reprisal shows great strength. It is controlling our urges to respond hurtfully that demonstrates how renewed our minds have become.

Israel’s Conquest of Canaan: The Nephilim and Giants

Christianity Today asserts that the conquest of Canaan can be a “stumbling block” for believers. This probably is because of a foolish idea of comparing it to a modern conquest happening in our world. The truth is that God had Israel conquer Canaan because it was ruled by evil giants, “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” (Numbers 13:33). These are Anakim or Nephilim, the children of angels and human women, “When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God (angels) saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. The...

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. According to Darb'ys doctrine of Dispensationalism, God dispenses different covenants. There are total of seven dispensations that divide the history of man: I. Dispensation of Innocence (prior to the Fall, "Do not east of the Fruit of Good and Eve, Eden), II. Dispensation of Conscience ( You must assuage guilt and sin with blood sacrifices.) III. Dispensation of Human Government (Multiply and Subdue the world, example the Tower of Babel Gen 11:1-9, and Genesis 1:28). IV. Dispensation of the Promise (Dwell in Canaan, Jerusalem) V. Dispensation of the Law ("Obey the Law of Moses and the Prophets"). VI. Dispensation of Grace (The Church, Jesus Christ has come...

Jesus’ Name in Aramaic

There has been a trend to render Jesus’ name Hebrew, יֵשׁוּעַ , Yeshua. The problem is neither Christ nor his apostles, nor the Jews in 30-33 A.D. spoke Hebrew, they spoke Aramaic. A ramaic is the oldest language on earth and was the language Jesus spoke. In fact, the oldest Old Testament is the Septuagint a Greco translation around 132 B.C.E. (165 Years Before Christ)that was translated from Aramaic. The Masoretic Text, The Hebrew Old Testament most Bibles use, dates from 7th to 10th Century A.D. (Medieval Times).  This translation does not cross reference with the words of Christ in the New Testament which are Aramaic and Koine Greek.  If the Aramaic was what Jesus spoke, then by what name would have been called? Jesus’ name in Aramaic is Isho or Eesho, spelled ܝܫܘܥ . That is the name of our Lord in Aramaic! He would have heard his name in this dialect, “Hail Isho or Eesho!” as well as the Greek, Ἰ ησο ῦ ς , Iesous.  Aramaic is disappearing, only a few peop...
