"All you need is LOVE (Jesus)"

The Beatles were phenomenon that still continues to effect the world. Among there many catchy songs was one called "All you Need is Love." Unfortunately, this song was birthed in the sixties and thus denotes the 'free' loving hippie life style that lacked commitment. However, as Christians we can commandeer this song and tell a different story.

We can re-write the song to say, "All you need is Love (Jesus)." Unlike the unfaithful love of the sixties and the cohabitation of todays couples, the love of God is commitment. Jesus' commited to loving us when he choose to be nailed to a cross. Some may rebuttal, that it was the Romans who nailed him to the cross and that he had no choice. Actually, Jesus did have a choice, in Hebrews it says, "The Father asked who will go on our behalf? And the Son answer I will." The mission to save man was clear to the Almighty and the cost was not elusive to Christ. Jesus even said to Pilate who was saying he had the power to set Jesus free or crucify him, "You would have no power over me if it were not given to from above." (John 19:11). The reason Jesus was in agony at Gethsemane and sweating blood is because his commitment to mankind would cost him his life. For Jesus put on the wedding ring and say "I do" to us, he knew it would be wedding band made of thorns placed on his head; instead of shimmering silver or gold band on his finger, He would have nails driven into his hands.

The Lord went as far as anyone could go to re-marry mankind. We broke our oath to Him in Eden and it took Christ's sacrifice to destroy the divorce we created and allow us to join Him again in a committed and connected relationship. That is why this whole cohabitation movement and avoiding matrimony is the antithesis of God. Rather, the living together without being married craze is spitting in the Son of God's face. God commited to save every human being by his act on the cross. But we cannot even commit to a person we love? Talk about the frailty and weakness of man! The Almighty went through torture, and excruciating death, but men and women will not commit to be faithful to each other and to invite that same Savior into their relationship?

There is even another movement of getting married before God, but not before the State. The way this works is that you can fetch a priest and be wedded, but you do not file for a marriage license and thus avoid certain taxes or financial fall out from your spouse. Wait a minute, do not the vows say, "for richer or poorer, in sickness and health,"? To me this avoiding legally binding marriage is another Copt out by lazy Christians and people who do not want the hardships or sufferings of marriage. Well tell that to Jesus!!! He was flog for you! Beaten beyond recognition! And he hung on a cross for you, suffocating and in agony! How faithless God's people can become! We shirk every suffering, when our Savior bore them willingly. Are not we then a mockery? Are not we then hypocrites?

"All we need is Love." Indeed, we need to love like Jesus did. To be committed to those we claim to adore and have great affection for. It is time to stop self protecting and start baring the sufferings required to show true love and commitment. We are either going to take being a Christian seriously, or we are just half-hearted hypocrites with benefits.

Israel’s Conquest of Canaan: The Nephilim and Giants

Christianity Today asserts that the conquest of Canaan can be a “stumbling block” for believers. This probably is because of a foolish idea of comparing it to a modern conquest happening in our world. The truth is that God had Israel conquer Canaan because it was ruled by evil giants, “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” (Numbers 13:33). These are Anakim or Nephilim, the children of angels and human women, “When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God (angels) saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. The...

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. According to Darb'ys doctrine of Dispensationalism, God dispenses different covenants. There are total of seven dispensations that divide the history of man: I. Dispensation of Innocence (prior to the Fall, "Do not east of the Fruit of Good and Eve, Eden), II. Dispensation of Conscience ( You must assuage guilt and sin with blood sacrifices.) III. Dispensation of Human Government (Multiply and Subdue the world, example the Tower of Babel Gen 11:1-9, and Genesis 1:28). IV. Dispensation of the Promise (Dwell in Canaan, Jerusalem) V. Dispensation of the Law ("Obey the Law of Moses and the Prophets"). VI. Dispensation of Grace (The Church, Jesus Christ has come...

Jesus’ Name in Aramaic

There has been a trend to render Jesus’ name Hebrew, יֵשׁוּעַ , Yeshua. The problem is neither Christ nor his apostles, nor the Jews in 30-33 A.D. spoke Hebrew, they spoke Aramaic. A ramaic is the oldest language on earth and was the language Jesus spoke. In fact, the oldest Old Testament is the Septuagint a Greco translation around 132 B.C.E. (165 Years Before Christ)that was translated from Aramaic. The Masoretic Text, The Hebrew Old Testament most Bibles use, dates from 7th to 10th Century A.D. (Medieval Times).  This translation does not cross reference with the words of Christ in the New Testament which are Aramaic and Koine Greek.  If the Aramaic was what Jesus spoke, then by what name would have been called? Jesus’ name in Aramaic is Isho or Eesho, spelled ܝܫܘܥ . That is the name of our Lord in Aramaic! He would have heard his name in this dialect, “Hail Isho or Eesho!” as well as the Greek, Ἰ ησο ῦ ς , Iesous.  Aramaic is disappearing, only a few peop...
