It's a War Out There

As Christians we often live in a delusion. We a fed doctrines of prosperity and peace from the pulpit. We are told that our lives shall be blessed and our trials surpassed. But these beliefs bereft us of our place on the battlefield. We have been promised no bed of rose pedals, but instead thickets of thorns. There is a war out there and we are God's soldiers.

Our enemy is not always seen, nor is our foe as tangible as people or objects about us. No, our foe lurks in the shadows and the unseen. He slithers into our lives though people, circumstances, and outright invasion. The fire drakes and feminine fatal fairies wait for us. The seek to slay us spiritually, emotionally, and if possible physically. The powers of darkness are not to trifled with or to be ignored. While Christ is greater (1 John 4:4) we must be on the alert at all times. As Christians we have been called to spiritual arms! Take up the Shield of Faith and swing the Sword of the Spirit! (Ephesians 6:12).

Spiritual warfare is real. Countless demons and devils seek our destruction. They work hard to divide families, defile individuals, and desecrate the devoted. The Medievalist had a healthy understanding of the supernatural world. They knew the threat that lurked over the hill, in the hollow, and even in the homely abode. Monks spent much of their time purifying and purging forests of the foul spirits. Their efforts were to expel evil sprites, fairies, and nymphs (all Succubae and Incubi).

In our contemporary world demons, fairies, and spirits have been demoted to legend and myth. They tend to be referenced in fictional stories and films. Few Christians take seriously the sinister forces that seek to subdue mankind. We were set free at Calvary and given all author in Christ Jesus, but these powers want us to give up the power God gave us. They desire to convince us that they are not a threat, nay instead they have convinced many through Disney and other fantasy tellers that they are friendly.

Be on the alert. The devil and his detachments are waiting to pounce like young lions. Our enemy waits patiently for the opportunity to strike. If we are not vigilant, if we do not gird ourselves in Truth, we shall be accosted and assaulted. The Principalities and Powers of darkness want to pollute our souls. They will not rest until the Day of Judgment. Until then we are too pitch battle under the banner of the Prince of Peace. We must stand firm under Christ's Flag and not yield to the devils! Be bold and courageous brother and sisters! For before you is the great test known as life. Here we do not find paradise, but instead a perpetual battlefield.

Do not be lulled to sleep by the sprites or convinced by the dancing cobras that you should lay down your shield. Fight the good fight of Faith! Give not an inch and ask for the Lord God to give you strength to withstand the trials, tribulations, temptations, tempests, and turmoil of this life. It was once said, "life is not easy, and until you realize this, you will never be happy." Indeed, life is hard and we must place ourselves on the Rock of Jesus Christ! To survive the tough testing, we must be sure footed on the strong ground of our Savior. Hold fast and stand the test!

Israel’s Conquest of Canaan: The Nephilim and Giants

Christianity Today asserts that the conquest of Canaan can be a “stumbling block” for believers. This probably is because of a foolish idea of comparing it to a modern conquest happening in our world. The truth is that God had Israel conquer Canaan because it was ruled by evil giants, “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” (Numbers 13:33). These are Anakim or Nephilim, the children of angels and human women, “When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God (angels) saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. The...

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. According to Darb'ys doctrine of Dispensationalism, God dispenses different covenants. There are total of seven dispensations that divide the history of man: I. Dispensation of Innocence (prior to the Fall, "Do not east of the Fruit of Good and Eve, Eden), II. Dispensation of Conscience ( You must assuage guilt and sin with blood sacrifices.) III. Dispensation of Human Government (Multiply and Subdue the world, example the Tower of Babel Gen 11:1-9, and Genesis 1:28). IV. Dispensation of the Promise (Dwell in Canaan, Jerusalem) V. Dispensation of the Law ("Obey the Law of Moses and the Prophets"). VI. Dispensation of Grace (The Church, Jesus Christ has come...

Jesus’ Name in Aramaic

There has been a trend to render Jesus’ name Hebrew, יֵשׁוּעַ , Yeshua. The problem is neither Christ nor his apostles, nor the Jews in 30-33 A.D. spoke Hebrew, they spoke Aramaic. A ramaic is the oldest language on earth and was the language Jesus spoke. In fact, the oldest Old Testament is the Septuagint a Greco translation around 132 B.C.E. (165 Years Before Christ)that was translated from Aramaic. The Masoretic Text, The Hebrew Old Testament most Bibles use, dates from 7th to 10th Century A.D. (Medieval Times).  This translation does not cross reference with the words of Christ in the New Testament which are Aramaic and Koine Greek.  If the Aramaic was what Jesus spoke, then by what name would have been called? Jesus’ name in Aramaic is Isho or Eesho, spelled ܝܫܘܥ . That is the name of our Lord in Aramaic! He would have heard his name in this dialect, “Hail Isho or Eesho!” as well as the Greek, Ἰ ησο ῦ ς , Iesous.  Aramaic is disappearing, only a few peop...
