Sometimes secular songs nail Biblical truths better than Christian ones. One in particular is a song by Queen, created for The Highlander film, called “Princes of the Universe.” I thought I would take some lines and show how they are Scriptural.

We are Kings, “Jesus, the Christ, who is the faithful witness and the first begotten of the dead and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us and washed us from our sins with his own blood
and has made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” (Revelation 1:5-6 Jubilee Bible)
🎼Here we belong, fighting to survive
In a world with the darkest powers🎼
We are in a war with the darkest powers, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12)

This is true, we shall rule all because Christ lives in us Christians, “And this is the secret: Christ lives in you,” (Colossians 1:27), and He shall rule all, “that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,” (Philipoians 2:10), and so one-day we will rule all in Christ, especially those in Millennial Kingdom will rule, “Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.” (Revelation 21:4).
🎼I am immortal, 🎼
We are immortal! The Immortal God lives in us, “Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen,” (1 Timothy 1:17), and “He said to them, “All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God.” (1 John 4:15). This is immortality is achieved through faith in the Gospel of Jesus, “but now has been revealed by the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.” (2 Timothy 1:10).
We shall be raised from dead in new bodies, “But someone may ask, “How will the dead be raised? What kind of bodies will they have?” What a foolish question! When you put a seed into the ground, it doesn’t grow into a plant unless it dies first. And what you put in the ground is not the plant that will grow, but only a bare seed of wheat or whatever you are planting. Then God gives it the new body he wants it to have. A different plant grows from each kind of seed. Similarly there are different kinds of flesh—one kind for humans, another for animals, another for birds, and another for fish.
There are also bodies in the heavens and bodies on the earth. The glory of the heavenly bodies is different from the glory of the earthly bodies. The sun has one kind of glory, while the moon and stars each have another kind. And even the stars differ from each other in their glory.
It is the same way with the resurrection of the dead. Our earthly bodies are planted in the ground when we die, but they will be raised to live forever. Our bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in glory. They are buried in weakness, but they will be raised in strength. They are buried as natural human bodies, but they will be raised as spiritual bodies. For just as there are natural bodies, there are also spiritual bodies.
The Scriptures tell us, “The first man, Adam, became a living person.”But the last Adam—that is, Christ—is a life-giving Spirit. What comes first is the natural body, then the spiritual body comes later. Adam, the first man, was made from the dust of the earth, while Christ, the second man, came from heaven. Earthly people are like the earthly man, and heavenly people are like the heavenly man. Just as we are now like the earthly man, we will someday be like the heavenly man.
What I am saying, dear brothers and sisters, is that our physical bodies cannot inherit the Kingdom of God. These dying bodies cannot inherit what will last forever.
But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed! It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed. For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies.
Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die,this Scripture will be fulfilled:
“Death is swallowed up in victory.
O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?”
For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ.
So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.” (1 Corinthians 15:35-58).
🎼I have inside me blood of kings, yeah, yeah🎼
We have the Blood of Kings in us, because the King of Kings created us in His image (Genesis 1:27), and He lives in us and we in Him, “All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God.” (1 John 4:15), and in Him is the bloodline of King David, “concerning his Son, who was descended from David according to the flesh and was declared to be the Son of God in power according to the Spirit of holiness by his resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 1:3-4).

So true, “If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31). There is no one who can rival us for God Almighty lives in us (1 John 4:15).

Amen, for God is love , “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him.” (1 John 4:7-9).
Our Lord tells us to make stand and endure to the end, “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.” (Matthew 24:9-13).

No man could understand🎼
Understanding is only for those who believe and follow Christ, otherwise: “But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty,” (1 Corinthians 1:27 KJV),
“But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty.” (2 Thessalonians 2:11). For only in Jesus is there wisdom and knowledge, “to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God’s mystery, which is Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” (Colossians 2:2-3).

Indeed, for the Holy Spirit ans his power come upob laying of hands, “Then they began laying their hands on them, and they were receiving the Holy Spirit,” (Acts 8:17), “Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you, which was bestowed on you through prophetic utterance with the laying on of hands by the presbytery,” (1 Timothy 4:14), “For this reason I remind you to kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands,” (2 Timothy 1:6).
“they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mark 16:18)

The Moon will turn to blood, “And I beheld when He had opened the sixth seal, and lo, there was a great earthquake, and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood,” (Revelation 6:12), and Jesus is The Morning Star, “Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.”(Revelation 22:16). Jesus is the Morning Star, Reach for Him!

We are told to wield swords, both spiritual and physical ones: “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,” (Ephesians 6:17) and “Jesus said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one..” (Luke 22:36).

I love this song because we are Princes of the Universe, Children of the King of the Universe. The song invokes our regal and royal state, that we are not slaves anymore, but born again in the purple of God’s family! We are a New Creation! We are Kings and Priests armed with spiritual authority to bind anything (Matthew 18:18), and to do battle with the darkest powers! So if you want to be reminded, and jazzed to know what you really are in Jesus, I say put on some Queen, and rock that truth that you are Prince of the Universe in Christ! Amen.
Note: Prince was used for males and females, Queen Elizabeth i was called Prince of a female gender. Princess was not used till later to distinguish sexes.
