Christmas Blessings

Christmas is almost here. The major retailers are making their final push on sales and many are getting ready to celebrate holiday traditions. In the middle of the festive ‘madness’ I think it behooves us as followers and friends of Christ to pause, and contemplate all that He has done.

The Birth of Jesus was a watershed moment in history, and not because He is the Living Water. Before God became human flesh, we were trapped in our brokenness. The Law could not help, it only made are wounds worsen by pointing out how messed up our lives are; how large the gap was between our sinfulness and God’s righteousness. Thank God for His Son, who filled that gap, exchanging our sin for his righteousness, “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God” (2 Corinthians 5:21), “This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe,” (Romans 3:22), and “And be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith.” (Philippians 3:9).

We got a sweet deal folks. Not 50 or 70 percent off a gift at a store, but 100 percent mercy, forgiveness, and being made right in God’s sight because of what Jesus did on the cross and in the tomb; we got eternal life (John 3:16), closeness to God (James 4:8), to not be judged at Judgement Day (John 5:24), and so much more!

God thought your soul, body, mind, spirit and all that makes you up was so precious, He became a baby, and grew up to bear your burdens, your brokenness, and bad choices. God was not content to let us fail, let us burn in the hell, No, He died to spill blood that puts out the flames of hellfire if we trust and believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Son of God!

You see Christmas is not separated from Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday. Christmas is the first steps of God Incarnate, Jesus Christ, who would take steps on the Via Del Rosa to carry our sins and then take steps out of the Tomb to break death’s power. Without Christmas there is no Calvary!

As we celebrate, lets give thanks God so loved us, He came at Christmas 2021 years ago, and grew up to bear our brokenness and give us the newness of life in Him! This Christmas, if you are already a friend of Christ, think on the love of God and how he dis not leave us in shadow of despair or looking at the gap, but filled the gap as the Cornerstone so that we may cross into eternity free of blame, shame, and pain.

If you have not yet believed in Jesus Christ, Son of God and Lord God, then make this the present to yourself this Christmas, a present the includes God living in you and you in Him (1 John 4:15), eternal life, Spiritual powers (1 Corinthians 12:7-11), freedom from trying to do the impossible of being perfect or more enlightened and achieve heaven and instead letting Jesus be your ticket into heaven by faith, letting Jesus whom in is the storehouses of wisdom and knowledge to enlighten you (Colossians 2:2-3), and who makes you perfect before God the Father and God The Holy Spirit bu His blood! Don’t put it off till Xmas 2022, choose Christ now and feel his presence, which is best of Christmas presents! Amen.

Israel’s Conquest of Canaan: The Nephilim and Giants

Christianity Today asserts that the conquest of Canaan can be a “stumbling block” for believers. This probably is because of a foolish idea of comparing it to a modern conquest happening in our world. The truth is that God had Israel conquer Canaan because it was ruled by evil giants, “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” (Numbers 13:33). These are Anakim or Nephilim, the children of angels and human women, “When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God (angels) saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. The...

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. According to Darb'ys doctrine of Dispensationalism, God dispenses different covenants. There are total of seven dispensations that divide the history of man: I. Dispensation of Innocence (prior to the Fall, "Do not east of the Fruit of Good and Eve, Eden), II. Dispensation of Conscience ( You must assuage guilt and sin with blood sacrifices.) III. Dispensation of Human Government (Multiply and Subdue the world, example the Tower of Babel Gen 11:1-9, and Genesis 1:28). IV. Dispensation of the Promise (Dwell in Canaan, Jerusalem) V. Dispensation of the Law ("Obey the Law of Moses and the Prophets"). VI. Dispensation of Grace (The Church, Jesus Christ has come...

Jesus’ Name in Aramaic

There has been a trend to render Jesus’ name Hebrew, יֵשׁוּעַ , Yeshua. The problem is neither Christ nor his apostles, nor the Jews in 30-33 A.D. spoke Hebrew, they spoke Aramaic. A ramaic is the oldest language on earth and was the language Jesus spoke. In fact, the oldest Old Testament is the Septuagint a Greco translation around 132 B.C.E. (165 Years Before Christ)that was translated from Aramaic. The Masoretic Text, The Hebrew Old Testament most Bibles use, dates from 7th to 10th Century A.D. (Medieval Times).  This translation does not cross reference with the words of Christ in the New Testament which are Aramaic and Koine Greek.  If the Aramaic was what Jesus spoke, then by what name would have been called? Jesus’ name in Aramaic is Isho or Eesho, spelled ܝܫܘܥ . That is the name of our Lord in Aramaic! He would have heard his name in this dialect, “Hail Isho or Eesho!” as well as the Greek, Ἰ ησο ῦ ς , Iesous.  Aramaic is disappearing, only a few peop...
