Batman v Superman: Dawn of Injustice

I recently watched Batman v Superman trailer and must raise some concerns I have. One, Superman is going to seen as a savior, while it has been believed Superman is an allegory of Christ, I am concerned that is shows people worshipping him saying, "Kal-el" and on a statue of Superman is the words written "false god." I agree, Superman is not God and it seems religious people in the film will be against Superman, which honestly if Superman showed up today we as Christians would be against him because rather than seeing him as "Man of Steel", we would know him to be the "Man of Sin." (2 Thessalonians 2:3, KJV).

The final scene has Batman and Superman facing off and Batman says, "tell me god, do you bleed? You will bleed!" My matriarch mother mentioned that this will inevitably boil "into an attack on Jesus Christ and his blood. Viewers, especially atheists, will twist this into Superman bleeds and is proven to not be god, so what about Jesus who bled on the cross? See how quickly this can be turned into an attack on Christ?" What is destined to be the epic superhero film of next Spring is going to be a subversive attack on our Savior Jesus Christ! This should not surprise us, for Zack Snyder, who is the director also directed "300" film, which was about the three hundred Spartans fighting the one million Persians and against Xerxes who believed he was a god. The 300 movie's climax has the main protagonist throwing a spear at Xerxes and his cheek bleeds thus proving he is not god.

As Christians we treasure the blood of Jesus Christ. It is the "blood of the new covenant which is poured out for many, for the remission of sins." (Matthew 26:28). The blood is our blanket of salvic grace and Jesus' death was to ensure our place in heaven and connection to God. Jesus rose from the dead and His Resurrection is for us believers. But Zack Synder and other mythological writers would say blood is proof of no deity. When in contrast to this claim we believe the Blood of Christ transcends normal blood, it gives life and is not a sign of death. In the Book of Hebrews it says, "and not through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood, He entered the holy place once for all, having obtained eternal redemption. For if the blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled sanctify for the cleansing of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?" (Hebrews 9:12-14).

The blood of Jesus Christ, Son of God is precious and perfect! For "In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace." (Ephesians 1:7). We have been bought by God, who is Jesus Christ through His blood! This blood stands forever, it was not spilt only at Calvary and then gone, but daily and continually covers us and our sins and makes death pass us over! In the end of days the Lord will say of us, "These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb." (Revelation 3:25). Christ's blood, the blood of lamb washes us white and makes us acceptable in the Almighty One's sight! The blood of Christ proves Jesus is God! For it covers us and keeps us from hell and allows us to be close to God and thus if it makes able to be close to God, is it not connected to God? For Jesus is God as I have established in my post, "Jesus is God."

As you can see this subtle piece in Batman v Superman is going to be fodder to attack our Christian faith. So beware and on the alert, Jesus's suffering, blood, and death will be attacked. We must stand firm and show them that God is omnipotent and almighty, but He also choose to come in vessel, a human body and so that he could be the sacrifice for our sins and reconcile us with His Father and reconnect us to the Holy Spirit through Him. (See 1 John 2:2, Romans 3:25, 1 Peter 3:18, 1 John 4:2).

Finally, the fact that religious people are against Superman in Batman v Superman will make those people look foolish and consequently make us Christians look foolish. While I am not against all superhero films, I very much enjoyed "Man of Steel," and "The Dark Knight Rises," I must say the content of this upcoming installment concerns me. It is going to be potentially dangerous ammunition for atheists and antagonists against Jesus and His followers (us). We must stand firm in our faith in Jesus Christ and not be beguiled by the doctrines or philsophies of men. (Colossians 2:8).

Israel’s Conquest of Canaan: The Nephilim and Giants

Christianity Today asserts that the conquest of Canaan can be a “stumbling block” for believers. This probably is because of a foolish idea of comparing it to a modern conquest happening in our world. The truth is that God had Israel conquer Canaan because it was ruled by evil giants, “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” (Numbers 13:33). These are Anakim or Nephilim, the children of angels and human women, “When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God (angels) saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. The...

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. According to Darb'ys doctrine of Dispensationalism, God dispenses different covenants. There are total of seven dispensations that divide the history of man: I. Dispensation of Innocence (prior to the Fall, "Do not east of the Fruit of Good and Eve, Eden), II. Dispensation of Conscience ( You must assuage guilt and sin with blood sacrifices.) III. Dispensation of Human Government (Multiply and Subdue the world, example the Tower of Babel Gen 11:1-9, and Genesis 1:28). IV. Dispensation of the Promise (Dwell in Canaan, Jerusalem) V. Dispensation of the Law ("Obey the Law of Moses and the Prophets"). VI. Dispensation of Grace (The Church, Jesus Christ has come...

Jesus’ Name in Aramaic

There has been a trend to render Jesus’ name Hebrew, יֵשׁוּעַ , Yeshua. The problem is neither Christ nor his apostles, nor the Jews in 30-33 A.D. spoke Hebrew, they spoke Aramaic. A ramaic is the oldest language on earth and was the language Jesus spoke. In fact, the oldest Old Testament is the Septuagint a Greco translation around 132 B.C.E. (165 Years Before Christ)that was translated from Aramaic. The Masoretic Text, The Hebrew Old Testament most Bibles use, dates from 7th to 10th Century A.D. (Medieval Times).  This translation does not cross reference with the words of Christ in the New Testament which are Aramaic and Koine Greek.  If the Aramaic was what Jesus spoke, then by what name would have been called? Jesus’ name in Aramaic is Isho or Eesho, spelled ܝܫܘܥ . That is the name of our Lord in Aramaic! He would have heard his name in this dialect, “Hail Isho or Eesho!” as well as the Greek, Ἰ ησο ῦ ς , Iesous.  Aramaic is disappearing, only a few peop...
