Jezebel was woman that existed in the time of the Prophet Elijah. She was pagan woman who had many Baal priests and influenced the Israelites to abandon the True God (Jehovah). Elijah did battle with these Baal priests and held a contest; where the Baal priests chanted and cut themselves to get their god to set a pyre on fire, but Elijah doused his pyre and called down the fire and the blaze engulfed the water, wood, stone, and soil! (1 Kings 18:38). Elijah despite this victory over Jezebel's bannerettes became afraid when threaten by Jezebel when she threatened the prophet. Elijah overcome with fear fled and was found being fed by ravens. (1 Kings 17). Jezebel was eventually killed when Jehu arrived at her terrace and said to the eunuch servants to throw down Jezebel (2 Kings 9:30-37). The servants obeyed and Jezebel was crushed and eaten by dogs. (2 Kings 9:10).
The woman Jezebel is dead, but the spirit that was personified in her still exists. This spirit of Jezebel seeks to corrupt God's people and to destroy the godly ones. She manipulates, sometimes with sex, and takes people in private and weaves webs of lies. The spirit of Jezebel wields the epitome of control and seeks to dominate people's lives. She will often declare an innocent and loyal servant of Christ to be a Jezebel in order to keep people from discovering her and to harm her enemy. She is crafty and can find solace in men and women.
The answer to Jezebel is Jesus who is the Truth and the anointing of Jehu. Exposing Jezebel requires Christ's guidance and wisdom; for she will try to make you look like the villain. In the end you must trust in the Lord and not let her shake you and manipulate you.
Most prophetic type believers will encounter Jezebel everywhere they go. She lurks like lion waiting for any who dare to "walk in spirit and truth." (John 4:24). Her art is to act spiritual and devout, but to secretly seduce and deceive. She is giant spider, in fact she ambushes, often with other cronies and priests (Baal priests, those caught in her web of lies and serving her with the puppeteer cords attached to them). Jezebel's symbol is the spider, often the Black Widow, but other kinds of spiders as well. She seeks to eliminate any threat to her rule and control.
Jezebel was defeated at Calvary. Like Satan, she is a fallen angel and like Satan she was defeated at the Cross two thousand and fifteen years ago by Jesus Christ! (See Colossians 2:15). So do not despair, but be aware that she lurks and seeks to cause harm to the faithful. Pray to have the anointing of Jehu and the Spirit of Christ to crush her! If you suspect you are under the influence of her, get deliverance, find someone who knows how to deliver her. You can do self-deliverance with Jesus Christ in a private prayer, but then you must monitor yourself and anytime you seek to gain control of others, to manipulate, and to get your way at all cost, you must let go and stop at once! There will be times that every Christian must take control, that is using boundaries and making decisions, but as I said Jezebel is puppeteer and hyperbole controller that will crush any that stop her from getting her way.
Beware of Jezebel and trust in Jesus Christ. Do not defend yourself, but let the Lord do so. Jezebel will ambush you with allies of hers and she will make you look like a fool if she can. Be patient and let the presence of the Holy Spirit and the peace of Christ keep you. Do not fear and run like Elijah, but like the Eunuchs caste her down to the dogs! God will help you and if she should weave a great web, then dust off your feet and walk to where the Lord would have you go. Remember, Jezebel and every wicked spirit shall join Satan in the Second Death! (Revelation 20:10). Any torment and hurt the Jezebel spirit may seek to do to you will not compare to the "eternal torment waiting for the devil and his fallen angels (Jezebel included)!" (Matthew 25:41).
