Recently (Circa November 28th, 2019) Netflix made a holiday special film called “The First Temptation of Christ” which insinuates our Lord and Saviour is a homosexual, and depicts The Virgin Mary smoking Marijuana. This act of sacrilege has been met with 1.1 Million Netflix Users have signed a petition against the special.
Frankly, I am not surprised Netflix preformed this act of blasphemy, desecration, and abomination. Already Netflix has “Lucifer” a series depicting a sympathetic Paradise Lost portrayal of the devil as its original series. In addition Netflix had their own Original Series “Sabrine The Teenage Witch” which unlike the Bewitchedesque original sports a real sigil and statue of Satan that the Church of Satan sued Netflix over for 50 million dollars (USD). In addition, Netflix has another original series about how Christians are like Nazis trying to take the world over from Washington D.C. called “The Family”. It is evident Netflix has an agenda and its not in favor of Christianity.
We are told by the Apostle Paul that in the last days people will consider nothing sacred, “For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred.” (2 Timothy 3:2).
Indeed anyone who does not confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is already working for Satan, “Once you were dead because of your disobedience and your many sins. You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God.” (Ephesians 2:1-2 NLT)
As for the slanderous lie that Christ was gay I address with Scripture:
Homosexuality is a sin:
“Now we know that the law is good, if one uses it lawfully, understanding this, that the law is not laid down for the just but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who strike their fathers and mothers, for murderers, the sexually immoral, men who practice homosexuality, enslavers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound[b] doctrine, in accordance with the gospel of the glory of the blessed God with which I have been entrusted.” (1 Timothy 1:8-12)
It clearly says Homosexuals are sinners (1 Timothy 8:10) and Jesus is without sin, “To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his step, He never sinned, nor ever deceived anyone,” (1 Peter 2:21-22), and “Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet he did not sin.” (Hebrews 4:14-15) and Jesus died for sin!, “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us,” (Romans 5:8), “For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit,” (1 Peter 3:18), and “He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.” (1 John 2:2).
Our Lord Jesus Christ is not gay! He made man and women so that the two sexes could have families! (Genesis 1:26-27, John 1:3, Colossians 1:16-18). Christ was celibate, and would never have been sexual relations with a man or woman because He hated the angels (Satan and his angels Rev 12:4-11) that did this, “In those days, and for some time after, giant Nephilites lived on the earth, for whenever the sons of God had intercourse with women, they gave birth to children who became the heroes and famous warriors of ancient times. The Lord observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil. So the Lord was sorry he had ever made them and put them on the earth. It broke his heart. And the Lord said, “I will wipe this human race I have created from the face of the earth. Yes, and I will destroy every living thing—all the people, the large animals, the small animals that scurry along the ground, and even the birds of the sky. I am sorry I ever made them.” But Noah found favor with the Lord.” (Genesis 6:4-12). And Jesus is the Lord! (Romans 10:9, Philippians 2:4-11).
God’s major objection to homosexuality is it prevents family. You need a male and female to procreate. If everyone decided to be homosexual, the human race would become extinct. Romans Chapter One also shows us that homosexuality stems from disobedience and even descent away from honoring and worshipping God: “So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen. That is why God abandoned them to their shameful desires. Even the women turned against the natural way to have sex and instead indulged in sex with each other. And the men, instead of having normal sexual relations with women, burned with lust for each other. Men did shameful things with other men, and as a result of this sin, they suffered within themselves the penalty they deserved. Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, he abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done. Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy. They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too.” (Romans 1:24-32 NLT) hence why it leads to damnation, “Don’t you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.” (1 Corinthians 6:9-10).
Homosexuality is lethal as a sin because its practicing sin, and refusing to acknowledge homosexuality is a sin is to call God a liar, “This is the message we heard from Jesus and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all. 6 So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth. 7 But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.
8 If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. 9 But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.
10 If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.” (1 John 1:5-10). Anyone who doesn’t believe sin is sin then doesn’t acknowledge Jesus died for that sin and so is an unbeliever, “The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality (homosexuality, bestiality, child molestation, more), impurity, and debauchery; idolatry and sorcery; hatred, discord, jealousy, and rage; rivalries, divisions, factions, and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.” (Galatians 5:19-21). When someone practices sin they condone it, approve of it, and try to be good at it; seeing it not as sin. Practicing sin is different than stumbling in sin and repenting (apologizing), “But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness,” (1 John 1:9), and “My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous. He himself is the sacrifice that atones for our sins—and not only our sins but the sins of all the world.” (1 John 2:1-2). Christ died for all sin once for all time in 33 A.D. (Hebrews 10), when we repent we are simply acknowledging that this is one of the all sins Christ died for and we are sorry for it, and thankful he covers it with His blood; by contrast practicing sin stops accepting that its sin and so rejects Christ’s sacrifice for said sin and calls God a liar. This is why Paul says no one practicing sin can enter heaven, because they’ve ceased trusting Christ to cover their sin and stopped calling it a sin and so in truth do not agree with Christ’s sacrifice, i.e. apostasy. Again sinning and repenting isn’t the same as practicing sin because when a person sins and repents they acknowledge its a sin and are thankful Christ paid for that sin two thousand and nineteen years ago. Amen.
