The Spiritual Consequences of Innovation

Technology has done many great things for human kind. As Christians we benefit from the breadth of information we can glean from to become more informed in our Faith. At the same time though, Tech like a double edge sword, points an edge at ourselves, and even to God, as it can be used to make war on Kingdom of Heaven in ways that are not as obvious. I have chosen some things that technology has effected spiritually, and will unpack whither this is good or bad.

The Epidural

In the 1970’s a ‘miracle’ was spread that could reduce and even eliminate the pain of child birth. Medical and Science experts were thrilled a tool was given that could calm the mothers giving birth and decrease the chances of harm to the newborn or the mother. However, there is a consequence that  this has had spiritually. In the Garden of Eden, it was Eve that first sinned, who took the forbidden fruit at behest of the Serpent, and then handing it to Adam. God in addition to banishing them from paradise put a curse on Eve and all her daughters, all women, that childbirth would increase in pain, “To the woman He said, “I will greatly multiply Your pain in childbirth; In pain you will give birth to children..” (Genesis 3:16). The invention of the epidural in essence erased this curse of evil, though Original Sin remains intact, women who receive an epidural at birthing, have diminished pain unlike this curse. No one could claim this was restoring the Daughters of Eve to Pre-Fall, because God said he would multiply the pain, not that there was none (see above). One could even argue that since Christ has come and redeemed us from every curse, “Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”),” (Galatians 3:13), that science has then helped remove the physical aspect of the curse of Eve. That is probably the healthiest way to look at it, but as we look at the next things technology and innovations have effected, one might draw a conclusion that this intervention actually is not a benefit in the long run, and even is science’s attempt to erase the consequence of sin.

Feminism

In the same passage, God indicates that part of Eve’s curse is that she will have to submit to her Husband, that man shall rule her, “Yet your desire andlonging will be for your husband, And he will rule [with authority] over you and be responsible for you.”. (Genesis 3:16). This is in stark contrast to how God phrased Eve’s role before she was tainted by sin, “Now the Lord God said, “It is not good (beneficial) for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper [one who balances him—a counterpart who is] suitable and complementary for him.” (Genesis 2:18). One could argue the Feminism of the 1970’s was a stroke towards restoring woman from being ruled by the man, which they call Patriarchy, and got back to “counterpart,” or equal. Alas that might have been the aim, but it has moved to Matriarchy, with women ruling over the men like The Amazonians, The Ohloni Tribes, and others that had women ruling over the men. The adage, “anything you can do, I can do better,” has so seeped into the mindset of Radical Feminism, that men are now treated as evil, the Sons of Adam are scorned by the 4B Movement, and other Female Incel types. This is a direct assault on the mandate by God to, “be fruitful and multiply,” (Genesis 1:28) and “that it is not good for man to be alone.” (Genesis 2:18). Woman was even made from bone of the first Man, Woman means “from man,” for that reason. And that is why witches are growing in numbers, because Witchcraft is very matriarchal and has a counter view to the Bible on the sexes.. you might ask how does technology or science play into this, Feminism grew with technological advancements, as women were allowed to use telephones, new printing methods for their dogmas, and get more autonomy over their bodies via abortion and being able to work with wages that made needing a husband unnecessary.

Abortion

Abortion or the terminating of a pregnancy is an old sin. The worshippers of Molech did post-birth abortion, casting their children into the fires (2 Kings 17:17). The act is abominable to God,’ so much so its in list of how to heal a nation, “Thus says the Lord: Do justice and righteousness, and deliver from the hand of the oppressor him who has been robbed. And do no wrong or violence to the resident alien, the fatherless, and the widow, nor shed innocent blood in this place,” (Jeremiah 22:3). Today, science and technology has taken abortion one step further, you can now get a pill and abort your baby like taking the contraceptive pill or birth control pill. This leap in advancing the ability to give young girls the ability to abort from comfort of their homes will only increase this ungodliness, and more and more people will not born. I pause at romantic films now, which are predicated on two soul mates meeting, well its possible your soul mate was aborted.

The Internet and The Advent of A.I.

The advancements so far been to undo God’s consequences for sin and to make sins more easy to achieve. Now we shall look at the ones that actually seek to usurp God entirely. The Internet is a tool, you are using it to read this blog, and for that I am thankful. However, in addition to being a tool, it and A.I. Chat bots and searches have made it possible to know anything, to have all knowledge, and rather than Seek God’s face in prayer, we go to Google and ask our questions. I am sure scholars would rebuff me and say they do not substitute supplications to the Almighty with Artificial Intelligence, nor forgo spending time with Immanuel over the Internet. But the point I making is the ease and convenience of searching for your answers online is too compelling to ignore. Not only do you get answers, you get rabbit holes (sometimes turns to doomscrolling) where you can follow a thought and subject across Reddit, YouTube, and etc. There is an immediate dopamine hit as you find other people pondering the same thoughts, feelings, and ideas. And I am not saying this necessarily bad, I do use these tools myself. But my concern is how easily we as a Creation can make going to the convenience over seeking Christ who is the source of wisdom. “which is Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Colossians 2:2-3). I believe if we are not careful we can end up turning a tool into a totem, an idol and turn from The Triune God. I am not saying this will be the case for many brothers and sisters in Christ, most of us have the Spiritual Hunger, Thirst for the Water of Life that only He can satisfy, but I am raising a concerned brow and maybe slight ringing of bell that if we are not careful we can find ourselves slipping more into asking Google rather than God.

There are many other ways in which people are allowing science and technology to alter their spiritual lives. I saw wedding officiated by a Chat GPT instead of a human Minister (https://people.com/chatgpt-officiates-colorado-wedding-7555337), and that alone makes me feel concern. A robot is not God’s creation, nor is it in the image of God, “Then God said: Let us make[a] human beings in our image, after our likeness. Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, the birds of the air, the tame animals, all the wild animals, and all the creatures that crawl on the earth. God created mankind in his image; in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:26-27). The incessant need to digitalize and put tech in everything and alter their consequences of sin is us playing God and seeking like Satan to be Master and Commander over all (Isaiah 14:11-14). The tools are not the problem, it is how we use them and to what extent we allow innovations to strip away the natural consequences and effects in this life. We are using breakthroughs in medicine and technology to mitigate and erase the realities the Bible affirms and says where they came from. I am convinced that this aspect of innovation is demonic step to strip us from the visible signs of the Fall, and our need for our Savior and his Amazing Grace. How long before they so eliminate the effects of sin from sexual immortality, and etc, that people say “well we do not need to follow the Bible on that.” We who follow the Bible will be considered antiquated, and that is purposeful, but we must not relent. There are spiritual aspects of the consequences that no cure, or technology can erase. Sin does not just mark our bodies with short lifespans, and other struggles, it is spiritual illness that we as Christians know full well is at work. Let us not forget that. They may have cured HIV/HPV in Mexico, but that does not mean live depraved lives now. You can mend flesh, but the demons you pour into your flesh cannot be cured by technology and innovations; only Christ can make them depart. Amen.

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. According to Darb'ys doctrine of Dispensationalism, God dispenses different covenants. There are total of seven dispensations that divide the history of man: I. Dispensation of Innocence (prior to the Fall, "Do not east of the Fruit of Good and Eve, Eden), II. Dispensation of Conscience ( You must assuage guilt and sin with blood sacrifices.) III. Dispensation of Human Government (Multiply and Subdue the world, example the Tower of Babel Gen 11:1-9, and Genesis 1:28). IV. Dispensation of the Promise (Dwell in Canaan, Jerusalem) V. Dispensation of the Law ("Obey the Law of Moses and the Prophets"). VI. Dispensation of Grace (The Church, Jesus Christ has come...

Jesus’ Name in Aramaic

There has been a trend to render Jesus’ name Hebrew, יֵשׁוּעַ , Yeshua. The problem is neither Christ nor his apostles, nor the Jews in 30-33 A.D. spoke Hebrew, they spoke Aramaic. A ramaic is the oldest language on earth and was the language Jesus spoke. In fact, the oldest Old Testament is the Septuagint a Greco translation around 132 B.C.E. (165 Years Before Christ)that was translated from Aramaic. The Masoretic Text, The Hebrew Old Testament most Bibles use, dates from 7th to 10th Century A.D. (Medieval Times).  This translation does not cross reference with the words of Christ in the New Testament which are Aramaic and Koine Greek.  If the Aramaic was what Jesus spoke, then by what name would have been called? Jesus’ name in Aramaic is Isho or Eesho, spelled ܝܫܘܥ . That is the name of our Lord in Aramaic! He would have heard his name in this dialect, “Hail Isho or Eesho!” as well as the Greek, Ἰ ησο ῦ ς , Iesous.  Aramaic is disappearing, only a few peop...

The Potrait of Jesus: What Christ Looked Like

What was Jesus’s appearance? Pseudo-historians at National Geographic and other publications argue that Jesus’ humanity was of Arab or African descent. This is impossible because Jesus our God was Son of David according to His flesh, “He promised beforehand through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures, regarding His Son, who was a descendant of David according to the flesh, and who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with power to be the Son of God by His resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord (God),” (Romans 1:2-4), and King David was described as the following, “So he sent and brought him in. Now he was ruddy [red, ruddy, from the word admowniy {ad-mo-nee'}; from 'adam ; reddish of the hair or the complexion red, ruddy], with beautiful eyes and a handsome appearance. And the LORD said, "Arise, anoint him; for this is he. So Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the presence of his brothers, and from that day on the Spirit of the LORD came ...
