Spiritual Portals

 

The Late David Wilkerson of Times Square Church was laughed off the stage many decades ago when he said pornography would be on our televisions. Now HBO channels have porn and shows like Game of Thrones and Outlander have illicit sex scenes with full nudity, rape, and intercourse. Another Pastor or Wilkerson said that Televisions would become portals into Christian homes, demonic entities would come in because while a Christian would never go to a Coven meeting or own a Sigil of Satan (Statue of Satan), they will tolerate these things in Sabrina The Teenage Witch Series (Netflix), Lucifer, Ahsoka with Nightsister Witches, and more. 

Recently Candace Cameron Bure spoke up about horror movies being portals to the demonic: 

“Like if you’re watching this, or you’re playing this video game, or whatever, that’s a portal that could let stuff inside our home,” Bure said. “I don’t even want someone watching a scary movie in our house on the TV, because to me, that’s just a portal.” (https://variety.com/2025/tv/news/candace-cameron-bure-scary-movie-portal-tv-demonic-1236428915/). 

I wholeheartedly agree with her. I have had paranormal activity come through movies, specifically those made by occultists like Alien 1979 with the Xenomorph being a design by occultist named H.R. Giger, I became ill watching in my spirit. Recently I watched Ash (2025) and it had a conduit to something severely demonic, a gateway opening when the demonic parasite was on screen. Ironically, even the Satanic Hazbin Hotel Series has a TV head character that has demonic stuff on it, as if the director and writer was telegraphing the truth that the TV is a portal to the devil and his minions, in fact, I know a lady who got into Hazbin Hotel and now is no longer a sweet person, but obsessed with the show and into demonic stuff for real. 

Our Lord and God Jesus warns about filling our eyes with darkness,

“The eye is the lamp of the body. So, if your eye is sound, your whole body will be full of light; but if your eye is not sound, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!” (Matthew 6:22-23). Another clear instruction against watching content that is full of darkness is the apostle’s words, 

“Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” (Philippians 4:8). Horror films do not draw you to pure things or are lovely, they instead incite fear and are often imaginings from demonic places, for instance, the Author Mary Shelley got Frankenstein from a nightmare, and the House on Haunting Hill has an Occultist as main character as demonic things happen in the mansion. 

While the TV is a major portal, so are phones, video games, and books like The House on Haunting Hill and almost everything by Stephen King. There is even a popular book now called “How to Summon Demons,” we are not to be involved with demons or entertained by them but called to throw them out!, “These signs will be associated with those who believe: they will throw out demons in my name. They will speak in new languages.” (Mark 16:17). 

What bothers me most is how people are quick to believe in doing dark supernatural stuff like Tarot, summoning the dead (seance, necromancy), conjuring demons, and etc, but so many Christians do not believe in Spiritual Warfare and taking on these evil spirits in the Name of Jesus, “We aren’t fighting against human enemies but against rulers, authorities, forces of cosmic darkness, and spiritual powers of evil in the heavens.” (Ephesians 6:12, CEB). Even the apostle Peter warns, “Be sober-minded and alert. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour,” (1 Peter 5:8), and the apostle James says, “submit therefore to God, resist the devil and he shall feel.” (James 4:7). If so many passages of Scripture mention spiritual warfare and battling and resisting the devil and demons and yet people ignore these verses…

It should not surprise us that television, video games, and books are being used as portals for the kingdom of darkness, for Scripture says, “We know that we are of God, and that the whole world is under the power of the evil one.” (1 John 5:9). The evil one is as Candace Cameron Bure mentions, using television and games as portals for demonic presences to enter our homes. We must be diligent and not let things into our homes. 

To do battle with the demonic forces call upon the name of Jesus against them, for the demons submit to the Authority of the Son of God, “And whenever the unclean spirits (demons) saw him, they fell down before him and cried out, “You are the Son of God,” (Mark 3:11), ans “Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists undertook to invoke the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “I adjure you by the Jesus whom Paul proclaims.” Seven sons of a Jewish high priest named Sceva were doing this. But the evil spirit answered them, “Jesus I know, and Paul I recognize, but who are you?” And the man in whom was the evil spirit leaped on them, mastered all of them and overpowered them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.” (Acts 19:13-16). The reason the demons did not submit to those Exorcists in Acts 19 is they were Jewish, not Christian, and an exorcist in greek is to conjure demons in not throw them out, “ἐκβάλλω, ekballó, to expel, to drive, cast or send out." (Strong's Greek Concordance). In contrast, Exorcist and Exorcism comes from another Greek Word, "ἐξορκιστῶν, exorkistes, one that binds by oath (spell), by implication, an exorcist (conjurer), exorcist comes from the word exorkizo to conjure and abjure," (The Key Word Study Bible, 1977 NASB, Greek 1844-45, pg 2166). We are called to caste demons out in the Name of Jesus, and you have to be a believer in Jesus as Lord, God Incarnate, Christ (Messiah), and Son of God for it to work; unbelievers have no power in the name of Jesus as Acts Chapter 19 illustrates but a believer in Christ, a Christian, has authority in the name of Jesus, “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing (like casting out demons, my note), and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” (John 14:12-14). There is great power in the Name of Jesus for us as Christians when we invoke It in spiritual warfare, “Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father,” (Philippians 2:9-11), and “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” (Colossians 3:17). So when a portal opens and you witness demonic things, call on the name of Jesus in something like this, “I bind the demonic powers in the name of Jesus Christ, The Name Above All Names, to which all must bow! I close this portal and doorway to the dark powers and occult by the Blood of Christ, and seal every portal closed by the Favor of The Father, by the Supremacy of the Son Jesus, and by Power of The Holy Spirit Amen..” 

I know people like Candace Cameron Bure will be ridiculed as being superstitious and part of a new Satanic Panic. But she is right, Scripture is with her and I have witnesses supernatural phenomenon that proves portals are real. For those of you who doubt the spiritual war, I urge you to ask for this Gift of the Holy Spirit, “to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongue,” (1 Corinthians 12:10), “But solid food is for the mature, for those who have their powers of discernment trained by constant practice to distinguish good from evil,” (Hebrews 5:14), and “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.” (1 John 4:1-5). Ask for this discerning of spirits in the Name of Jesus and be prepared to realize we who are talking about the spiritual war are not odd birds, but the Holy Spirit who descends like a dove can show you the invisible realm.
