Son of God: What It Really Means

There is an effort to confuse definitions in the Bible. The newest is “Son of God.” This designation of Jesus is crucial because it is central to the gospel, “And Simon Peter answered and said, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God,” (Matthew 16:16) , “who was declared the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead, according to the Spirit of holiness, Jesus Christ our Lord,” (Romans 1:4), and “All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God.” (1 John 4:15).

These days they are claiming Son of God is same as Christ the anointed one (ESV Study Bible, Hans F. Bayer, Ph.D., Aberdeen University, which is false!!! Christ is a different designation than Son of God), or in Hebrew Bible “that it means one one who has a special relationship with God.” That is not what it means regarding Jesus! Son of God is specific designation: “the title "Son of God" refers to the status of Jesus as the divine son of God the Father.” (Son of God, J. Gordon Melton, Martin Baumann, Religions of the World: A Comprehensive Encyclopedia of Beliefs and Practices, ABC-CLIO, USA, 2010, p. 634-635, Schubert M. Ogden, The Understanding of Christian Faith, Wipf and Stock Publishers, USA, 2010, p. 74, Wikipedia). It means Jesus is The Son in the Godhead (Θεός  υός), The Trinity, that “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16). And now people are attempting to confuse this by other interpretations of the title of Son of God. The only true interpretation is that it denotes Jesus’ Sonship, that He is The Son of God The Father. The attempt to claim that Son of God only means messiah, the christ, and the anointed one is false because Scripture separates the two titles of Christ and Son of God as uniquely different, “who was declared the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead, according to the Spirit of holiness, Jesus Christ our Lord,” (Romans 1:4, three designations there, Jesus is Son of God, Christ, and Lord in that sentence, meaning Son of God is not the same title as Christ and Lord) and the confession of Son of God, “All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God.” (1 John 4:15) is based on that Jesus is the Son of God The Father, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.” (John 3:16-18), “” Romans 1:4) and “Seeing Jesus, he cried out and fell before Him, and said in a loud voice, “What business do we have with each other, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg You, do not torment me,” (Luke 8:28). Jesus is not just The Christ or one The Lord is close to! Jesus is The Lord (Philippians 2:8-9, Romans 10:9) and is The Son of God, God The Son.

The Hebrew Bible claiming Son of God is just someone close to God plays on our designation as sons of god in Christ, “for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith,” (Galatians 3:26), although we are actually sons of god in a larger way, we are adopted sons (Ephesians 1:5-15) making us Children of God (John 1:12) and we are Co-Heirs With Christ, “and if children, then heirs — heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if so it be that we suffer with Him, that we may be also glorified together.” (Romans 8:17). There also was the sons of god who were angels who fell and had children with women (Genesis 6:4-10), but Jesus isn’t called a sons of god like we are or those angels in Genesis, He is Son of God which means God The Son who is Son to The Father who is God and The Holy Spirit who is God, One God in Three Persons.

Scholars are mucking up a salvic issue. There is a difference between sons of God (close to god, or children of God by faith), and The Son of God! Jesus is The Son of God which means God The Son (Matthew 3:17, John 3:16-18, 1 John 4:15), God Incarnate, Lord God Almighty who is One with His Father and The Holy Spirit.

To make it absolutely clear, Jesus is Son of God which means:

“Son of God" refers to the status of Jesus as the divine son of God the Father.” (Son of God, J.

I must say I have a suspicion people are becoming theologians and Bible Scholars to alter The Bible’s words and definitions to confuse and destroy our Church from within. They remind me of those ones who The Apostle Paul mentioned:

“This matter arose because some false believers had infiltrated our ranks to spy on the freedom we have in Christ Jesus and to make us slaves, We did not give in to them for a moment, so that the truth of the gospel might be preserved for you.” (Galatians 2:4-5) and “For certain people have crept in unnoticed who long ago were designated for this condemnation, ungodly people, who pervert the grace of our God into sensuality and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.” (Jude 1:4). If people back then tried to pollute the gospel, why not in our times? We must remember, there are false apostles (2 Corinthians 11:2-4, 13) who want to deceive people, false teachers, false prophets (1 John 4:1) and false christs (Matthew 24:24) and that the Apostle foretold sound doctrine would be under siege in the last days, “For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths.” (2 Timothy 4:3-4). Our Bible societies and translators and those editing definitions have infiltrators among them who are serving Satan! They are trying to change long held definitions like Jesus Kyrion, Son of God, and Virgin Mary to mean something else than those definitions have always meant! They are condemned by Jesus himself for trying to alter the oracles and God breathed words of Scripture! (2 Timothy 3:16) Amen.

Israel’s Conquest of Canaan: The Nephilim and Giants

Christianity Today asserts that the conquest of Canaan can be a “stumbling block” for believers. This probably is because of a foolish idea of comparing it to a modern conquest happening in our world. The truth is that God had Israel conquer Canaan because it was ruled by evil giants, “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” (Numbers 13:33). These are Anakim or Nephilim, the children of angels and human women, “When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God (angels) saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. The...

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. According to Darb'ys doctrine of Dispensationalism, God dispenses different covenants. There are total of seven dispensations that divide the history of man: I. Dispensation of Innocence (prior to the Fall, "Do not east of the Fruit of Good and Eve, Eden), II. Dispensation of Conscience ( You must assuage guilt and sin with blood sacrifices.) III. Dispensation of Human Government (Multiply and Subdue the world, example the Tower of Babel Gen 11:1-9, and Genesis 1:28). IV. Dispensation of the Promise (Dwell in Canaan, Jerusalem) V. Dispensation of the Law ("Obey the Law of Moses and the Prophets"). VI. Dispensation of Grace (The Church, Jesus Christ has come...

Jesus’ Name in Aramaic

There has been a trend to render Jesus’ name Hebrew, יֵשׁוּעַ , Yeshua. The problem is neither Christ nor his apostles, nor the Jews in 30-33 A.D. spoke Hebrew, they spoke Aramaic. A ramaic is the oldest language on earth and was the language Jesus spoke. In fact, the oldest Old Testament is the Septuagint a Greco translation around 132 B.C.E. (165 Years Before Christ)that was translated from Aramaic. The Masoretic Text, The Hebrew Old Testament most Bibles use, dates from 7th to 10th Century A.D. (Medieval Times).  This translation does not cross reference with the words of Christ in the New Testament which are Aramaic and Koine Greek.  If the Aramaic was what Jesus spoke, then by what name would have been called? Jesus’ name in Aramaic is Isho or Eesho, spelled ܝܫܘܥ . That is the name of our Lord in Aramaic! He would have heard his name in this dialect, “Hail Isho or Eesho!” as well as the Greek, Ἰ ησο ῦ ς , Iesous.  Aramaic is disappearing, only a few peop...
