Alien life is the topic of a congressional meeting about to take place in the US. Last year pyramid shaped ships appeared near a US aircraft carrier, which is intriguing in that the Egyptians who are known for their pyramids record in the Book of the Dead (be wary of this book, it is full of mythology, history, and spell craft, it is not safe for most Christians) that Sun Ships in the shape of pyramids came down from the heavens. A former Israeli govt official says they had contact from alien life saying, “mankind is almost ready for contact, but not yet.” Allegedly three of UFOs Pres. Joe Biden had shot down are being claimed as no nation of Earth. So the point is extraterrestrials are becoming a focal point for serious discussion.
If extraterrestrials exist, what does that mean for the Church? How will we meet another race of beings? Well The Bible has encounters between man and another race we call angelos (angels, messengers), some of who have four heads and six wings, “And he went in before my eyes. Now the cherubim were standing on the south side of the house, when the man went in, and a cloud filled the inner court. And the glory of the LORD went up from the cherub to the threshold of the house, and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was filled with the brightness of the glory of the LORD. And the sound of the wings of the cherubim was heard as far as the outer court, like the voice of God Almighty when he speaks. And when he commanded lthe man clothed in linen, “Take fire from between the whirling wheels, from between the cherubim,” he went in and stood beside a wheel. And a cherub stretched out his hand from between the cherubim to the fire that was between the cherubim, and took some of it and put it into the hands of the man clothed in linen, who took it and went out. The cherubim appeared to have the form of a human hand under their wings. And I looked, and behold, there were four wheels beside the cherubim, one beside each cherub, and the appearance of the wheels was like sparkling beryl. And as for their appearance, the four had the same likeness, as if a wheel were within a wheel. When they went, they went in any of their four directions without turning as they went, but in whatever direction the front wheel faced, the others followed without turning as they went. And their whole body, their rims, and their spokes, their wings, and the wheels were full of eyes all around—the wheels that the four of them had. As for the wheels, they were called in my hearing “the whirling wheels.” And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of the cherub, and the second face was a human face, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle,” (Ezekiel 10:2-14), and “Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.” (Isaiah 6:2-7). In their cases there are those that serve our Lord God like Gabriel and Michael, and there are those who became evil like Satan and his angels (Revelation 12:7-9). There are many who believe that these UFO sightings or alien visitations are demons and fallen angels taking the form of aliens and traveling in a way to draw attention to themselves. This is definite possibility, the devil is a liar, “You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies,” (John 8:44) and he deceives, “And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him,” (Revelation 12:9), there is much to be gained in deception by making people fixate on little green men. But what if they are a real race of sentient life? What if aliens who are neither angels or human like arrive, what then? Well firstly it would not effect our faith. The Holy Bible is God’s revelations to mankind, who He made in His Image, the omitting of extraterrestrials would not discredit Scripture, because Scripture is about God and Humankind’s relationship and interactions. Thus why would God speak of green men or other sentients? If The Lord revealed himself to aliens in a holy book to them, I doubt He’s mention us humans, since it would be directed to aliens. So in same way, the existence of extraterrestrials would not contradict nor disrepute the accounts in Bible because they are God interacting with our race, our species, so why would it mention aliens when the focus of Scripture is God speaking to mankind?
Really there is only two answers, either angels are the aliens, because they are another species and are trying to spook, deceive, and manipulate mankind or God The Trinity created other sentient life in the Universe and we are about to make contact; it could also be both, fallen angels pretending to be aliens and real aliens.
Will extraterrestrials be hostile? I do not know. Is it possible they did not sin but upon entering our atmosphere sin comes on them and they become violent? Or has sin crossed the universe and when Adam and Eve disobeyed God it made the whole universe fall into futility and sin? We know Adam and Eve’s sin effected time, because God who is not in time (2 Peter 3:1-9) had to become a Man and die for our sins to cleanse them for all time, “For Christ has entered, not into holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf. Nor was it to offer himself repeatedly, as the high priest enters the holy places every year with blood not his own, for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.” (Hebrews 9:24-28). So either extraterrestrials live under The Fall in their part of the galaxy or when they get here they will be effected. I am of the mind The Fall of Adam and Eve effects the Universe, hence why stars die, the consequence of sin was death (Genesis 2:17). Does sin only effect humans? No, animals and the earth is effected by sin, “For all the creation was subjected to futility (curse), not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay.” (Romans 8:20-21). So it stands to reason extraterrestrials could be effected by sin if angels could sin, “And I remind you of the angels who did not stay within the limits of authority God gave them but left the place where they belonged. God has kept them securely chained in prisons of darkness, waiting for the great day of judgment,” (Jude 1:6), “Then he will also say to those on the left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels!,” (Matthew 25:41). If angels, and animals are effected by sin, it seems to me aliens will be effected by sin on our planet, for even God Almighty who became a man was tempted to sin, “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin,” (Hebrews 4:15), “Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil,” (Matthew 4:1), “Because He Himself suffered when He was tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted,” (Hebrews 2:18), if God who is not from Earth but created it and all things (Genesis 1:1-27, John 1:1-7, Colossians 1:16-18), can be tempted, then extraterrestrials can conceivably be tempted to sin. Perhaps if they are not hostile and serving Satan’s purposes, aliens have come to Earth to learn about the gospel, to marvel at the salvation of man as the angels do (1 Peter 1:12).
The point is we must fix our eyes on Jesus, “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God,” (Hebrews 12:2), and “More than that, I count all things as loss compared to the surpassing excellence of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have lost all things. I consider them rubbish, that I may gain Christ.” (Philippians 3:8). Whither the aliens are a deception of the devils or are a real sentient species, we must keep Jesus are focus. If they be a deception, we will not be beguiled if our eyes are fixed on Jesus, if they be real extraterrestrials we shall learn from Jesus the wisdom of how to interact or not, for in Jesus is all wisdom, “Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” (Colossians 2:2-3).
