The Real Christian Call

We have become weak. We Western Christians have allowed the false prosperity ideology to convince us that if we arn’t wealthy and happy, then something is wrong; that it is our birthright to have comfort. This is a lie, the call of a Christian is the Cross, “Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.” (Luke 9:23), and “And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me” (Matthew 10:38). Notice it says take up the cross daily, and the cross when Jesus spoke these words was not a badge of honor worn around necks in gold, it was two wood beams of agonizing suffering.  When the symbol for our faith was chosen it wasn’t a lamb, it was not the Tomb, it wasn’t the Ichytus or fish, though that was a symbol in persecution. The cross was chosen. Was it because of the symbol Constantine saw before the Battle of Milvan Bridge? The Emperor is said to have seen the cross and heard the words,...

Taylor Swift Tortured Soul?

Taylor Swift has a net worth of 1.1 Billion. Her Eros / Eras Tour is poised to surpass Elton John’s Farewell Yellowbrick Road Tour. The talented lady has developed an almost cult status, as her loyal fans have tailored themselves Swifties. Ms. Swift began as “the girl next store,” country singer and then broached into pop, and now does mini plays on stage while singing her music. The first signs of the dark side seeping into her music according  to many Christian influencers online was the song “Willow” in which on stage she preforms a coven meeting in the woods with witches. She made some cryptic posts about being a witch, that some Fundamentalists have taken as a Satanic confession, but it may be out of context that she is saying she feels like she is being accused like the witches who were not witches in the Salem witch trials, and    thus feels branded. Only God really knows her motives.  The more alarming lyrics that has stirred the community of Christ on...

Persecution Return

The Israeli-Palestinian Conflict is a complicated thing and I have kept quiet not wanting to incite either side. But I like Bonhoffer feel my conscious pricked and must speak of the pogroms & persecutions returning. One could say that the bloodshed and persecution of the Jews is as old as The Bible, Pharaoh seeking to prevent The Deliverer wiped out a generation of Jewish boys (Exodus 1:15-22), and then Herod trying to prevent The Christ from coming killed the Sons of Bethlehem (Matthew 2:16-18). Rachael keeps weeping in every generation (Matthew 2:18). In the Medieval Period Jews were hunted in pogroms by Count Emicho and The German sect of the First Crusade in what became The Rhineland Massacres. The Church intervened, hiding Jews in churches, and bishops spoke out, even trying to prevent forced conversions of Jews, “The  Catholic Bishop  Cosmas attempted to prevent forced conversions, and the entire Catholic hierarchy in Bohemia preached against such acts. Duke...

The Spirit of Discord

In our world there is major sectarianism brewing. People are being coerced to hate one another over race, religion, creed, and even fandoms. I have watched as fans who love a franchise “bite and devour one another,” (Galatians 5:15) when they all are suppose to love the same franchise.   What is causing this? What is at the root? Have you heard of Discord? It comes from the goddess Discordia, who is also known as Eris which is a goddess who sows discord and strife. I find it intriguing that the most popular social chat app is Discord, not Concord which means harmony between people and groups. Discordia is probably one of the angels that fell with Satan, “Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to...

Dune Part I and Part II Review

Dune has had major influence on science fiction. I argue that Star Was is a stripped down and simpler version of Dune, both have important desert planets, dark messiahs, emperors, worms & sarlaacs, witches in Bene Gisseret and Nightsisters, secret family reveals, elite warriors in Sardaukar & Mandalorians, and much more. To explain Dune is a challenge, so let me attempt in the best way I can, there is planet named Dune (Arakkis), on this planet worms produce spice, spice is how ships travel in hyperspace, instead of warp drives or lightspeed there are creatures called engineers who use the spice to make ships travel. There is an Emperor who rules the galaxy, there are Houses under his rule, the most prominent are Atredies who are just and Harkonnen who are ruthless like Sith Lords and The Galactic Empire. On Dune there are a people looking for a messiah called the Lisan Al Gaib, these bedouin desert dwelling warriors are called The Fremen. There are witches called Bene Ge...

Why Church Attendance is Down

The church was never meant to be a 501C3 nor a business with paid pastors. Originally it was a community of saint who gathered to do the following, “All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer.” (Acts 2:42). I do not know many churches share meals, Megachurches make that impossible to do every week as well as go fellowship, with the people attending being so vast its hard to get to know anyone. In smaller churches its possible with potlucks, and some go out to local dinner together. I testify eating with the pastor and other believers create a layer of closeness that cannot otherwise be achieved. People are less reserved when eating, and you can let down your hair and fellowship. This is why megachurches are folly, they are like massive universities, not conducive to intimate gatherings.  Another reason is we are not obeying the words in Scripture. The younger generati...

The Coming Wrath of God

As Christians we emphasize grace and preach, “God so loved the world..” (John 3:16).    We want to point out that the wrath of God does not rest on those who believe, “For God did not appoint us to suffer wrath but to receive salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,” (1 Thessalonians 5:9), “and to await His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead--Jesus our deliverer from the coming wrath,” (1 Thessalonians 1:10), and    “Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!,” (Romans 5:9),l. However, those who refuse to believe and practice wickedness are going to be trod in winepress of God’s wrath, “The grapes were trampled in the winepress outside the city, and blood flowed from the winepress in a stream about 180 miles long and as high as a horse’s bridle.” (Revelation 14:20), “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God re...
