Most people think Monks of the Middle Ages only did self flogging, beating their own flesh for penance. It turns out that is false, that monks not only beat students at seminaries and theology schools, they often did so tell they died! The scholar Erasmus, a contemporary of Martin Luther, records how many youthful men were beaten to death by Monks for not keeping up with the study schedule:
“Those unable to keep up with the study schedule were savagely whipped, often to the point of injury. Of the many students in Standonck’s charge, Erasmus would later write, he had within a year “caused the deaths of very many capable, gifted, promising youths” and brought others “to blindness, emotional breakdown, or leprosy.” The privations Erasmus experienced there would reinforce his aversion to monkish asceticism.” (Fatal Discord, Chapter 5: Breakthrough, Michael Massing).
Just when you think the Harlot and false Roman Catholic Church has drunk the goblet of villainy, cruelty, and control to the dregs, you discover another facet of how harsh they were! To beat people until they die for bad marks in school is insane! Not only is physical abuse never acceptable, to snuff out youthful students who wanted to not only learn but also wanted to serve God! I mean what if they had killed the next Augustine? Francis of Assisi? And etc?!
This corporal punishment is only one of many sins of the Roman Catholic Church did in its long and sad history of atrocities. As that false church now tries to hide behind its pop culture pope, while sexual scandals still rock it, we see the wisdom of The Reformation and are thankful for our emancipation from the cruel spirit of the Catholic Churchmen!
Our Lord Jesus Christ rescued us from these devilish monks, clerics, and the Seat of Satan (St. Peter, Catholicism). He raised up the Reformers to pluck The True Gospel and us from the claws of that abusive false church! Do not be deceived by their watered down Vatican II charms! Our Protestant Churches are becoming seduced into a love affair with The Harlot of Rome in name of ecumenism, rediscovering bad piety
practices like contemplative prayer, interest in church history, interest in Medieval art, returning to Patristic Fathers and Church Fathers, and more. This is dangerous! We have been set free from the false gospel of Rome!, “But I fear that somehow your pure and undivided devotion to Christ will be corrupted, just as Eve was deceived by the cunning ways of the serpent. You happily put up with whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different kind of Spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed,” (2 Corinthians 11:3-4), for Rome is Satan who disguised itself as angel of light, “And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light.” (2 Corinthians 11:14), they have crosses and Jesus statues, but its not the Real Church! Its Satan’s decoy to imprison you in whitewashed tombs called cathedrals, in sermons that lead to sepulchers!
Pope Benedict XIV had Muslims imams come to The Vatican and dedicate it to Allah and Islam. Pope Francis I in his first teaching claimed atheists ans nonbelievers can be saved without believing in Jesus (see post, Pope, New Hope, Nope) which contradicts Jesus’ own words!, “Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son,” (John 3:18) and “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6). If these modern heresies were not enough add a thousand years of hiding the true gospel that salvation is by grace thru faith in Christ alone (Acts 15:7-11, John 3:16, Romans 10:9-10, Ephesians 2:8-9), The Spanish Inquisition, The Fourth Crusade, St. Bartholomew Day Massacre, burning William Tyndale, Jerome mistreating “do penance” when Jesus said “repent”, Marian Queen of Heaven Worship when Prophet Jeremiah spoke against it in Jeremiah Chapter 44 and Jesus says “But Jesus said to Satan, Away with you Satan! It is written! Worship the Lord and serve Him only!,” (Luke 4:8), the control they had over people in Confession, and so many other evils. Now add to their litany of faults that they beat youths to death for bad marks, bad grades or failing to understand dogma. What a horrid legacy that continues! Come out of the Harlot of Rome and believe what The Bible, specifically New Testament says! Amen.
