Today Disney revealed itself, and everything I have said in previous posts was confirmed. Today of all days, Disney relapsed the Teaser trailer for Star Wars: Episode VIII: The Last Jedi. On Good Friday, one of holiest Christian holidays of the year, Disney releases the trailer and teaser for the new Star Wars sequel. So instead of many Christians being focused on the Lord Jesus they will be talking about the Last Jedi. Instead of people reading from Gospel of Luke, they will be talking about Luke Skywalker. Disney could have released this on Monday, after Holy Week and Resurrection Sunday was over, but they deliberately decided to do this on Good Friday. Now people I know are so busy talking about the trailer, I wonder if they will remember that while the Last Jedi is fiction and will mean nothing in spans of time and eternity, our Lord Jesus Christ is God and real, and made all things (John 1:3).
The audacity of Hollywood. It is amazing to me, that once Hollywood not only kept from announcing anything on holidays, but back then in glory days or golden age, Christian films like Ben Hur, The Greatest Story Ever Told, and more were released at this time of year to drawn disciples attention to the Divine Lord and Savior. Now in a short time this has reversed, and instead the antichrist is moving to draw attention away from the Alpha and Omega. I am sure my outrage will seem odd to some, but honestly don't you find it peculiar that today, Good Friday, the day we remember Jesus' torture, crucifixion, and death for our sins, is the day that Disney chose to release the most anticipated movie of the year's teaser and poster? Now instead of crosses, and affection being directed to Jesus' sacrifice, people are enamored with the latest reveal of the Last Jedi. Honestly, I had intended to see The Last Jedi, having seen The Force Awakens, but now I am not sure. To see such disrespect from Disney (which has on Wikipedia been confirmed to be an Occultist company) makes me almost certain I want to boycott.
The only reason I have decided to even mention this act of antichristism is that I want my brothers and sisters in Christ to take notice. Don't you think it is odd that of all the days and weeks they could have chosen to reveal the teaser and poster for the Episode VIII that they chose Good Friday and a couple of days before Resurrection Sunday? Coincidence I think not. Not to mention that in mythology of Star Wars the Force has transformed from good and evil into New Age doctrines. Once upon a time, Lightsabers had crystals that were simply acted as lightning conductors to make the breams/blades, now Jedi mediated on crystal in prayer in same manner New Ageists (White Witchcraft users) do. There was a time when Jedi almost seemed like Jesus monks, and Sith as Satanists, but now thanks to the Prequels it became more Oriental and even Hindu, and now Disney is taking Star Wars one step further into New Age and Occultism. Not surprising, since Kabbala, a form of occultism is on rise in Hollywood, and Disney has always had reputation as a sympthatizer to the dark side, no pun intended.
I think as Christ followers we are going to find that we have to draw a line. Are you going to pick up your cross, "Then he said to them all: "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me," (Luke 9:23), "If you refuse to take up your cross and follow me, you are not worthy of being mine," (Matthew 10:38), "And whoever does not carry his cross and follow Me cannot be My disciple," (Luke 14:27), "If you were of the world, it would love you as its own. Instead, the world hates you, because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world," (John 15:19), "but the cares of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth, and the desire for other things come in and choke the word, and it becomes unfruitful," (Mark 4:19), and take to heart the words of Apostles, "I write to you, dear children, because you know the Father. I write to you, fathers, because you know him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God lives in you, and you have overcome the evil one. Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. And the world is passing away along with its desires, but whoever does the will of God abides forever. Children, it is the last hour; and just as you have heard that the antichrist is coming, so now many antichrists have appeared. This is how we know it is the last hour," (1 John 2:14-18), "They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths," (2 Timothy 4:4), "You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God," (James 4:4), "because the mind of the flesh is hostile to God: It does not submit to God's Law, nor can it do so," (Romans 8:7), "Pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world," (James 1:27), "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will," (Romans 12:2), "Test and prove what pleases the Lord," (Ephesians 5:10), "Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good," (Romans 12:9), and "Abstain from all appearance of evil," (1 Thessalonians 5:22 KJV). This is evil, that a company (Disney) would try to overshadow the holiest week in the Church, and act like its innocent. This is not innocent, it isn't coincidence that first scene of The Force Awakens is a black triangular ship with an upside down cross (occultist symbol) eclipsing a planet full of light. I believe it is increasingly going to be battle between people's love of fiction and their faith, only one will win, "No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money," (Luke 16:13) and "choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." (Joshua 24:14-15). There are people more dedicated and in love with their fictions (2 Timothy 4:4) than their Heavenly Father and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, they may not say so, but the fruit speaks louder than words (Matthew 7:15-20). Make no mistake The Last Jedi is an assault on The Lord Jesus' Good Friday, the question is how will you respond? Will you simply give excuses and support Disney, or will you act as disciple of Christ and take a stand (Matthew 24:13)?
Addendum:
Upon close inspection of the poster and teaser, Luke Skywalker seems to be either on Dark Side or falling to it, he says, "The Jedi must end." This is more of Disney's desire to blur good and evil. Now the most righteous good Jedi, who resisted before Emperor turning to Dark Side, "You have failed your highness, I am a Jedi like my Father before me," (Return of Jedi) is saying "The Jedi must end?" Ugh. The idea Luke falling to Dark Side comes from Comic called Dark Empire (Dark Horse Comics) and it was horrid idea. Part of what makes Luke interesting is he was different than his father Darth Vader, he didn't fall to dark side. This ruins him, and yes we can't quite say for sure Luke is fallen, but definitely disillusioned and this is not good for the psyche of people. Dissapointed.
