One of the greatest events in the Old Testament is The Flood. When God decided to destroy the human species with a great deluge of water, sparing only Noah and his family. In most Sunday school rooms and even Kirk Cameron films, The Flood is sanitized and leaves God looking like a tyrant who is taking out his creation on a whim. The truth about The Flood is very dark, and is like the images (art and designs) H. R. Giger used in the Alien & Species franchises. God did not spontaneously decide to end mankind. No, There was a very good reason for his ire. Mankind had started breeding with another species, we call them angels, but they also are called sons of god, from the wombs of human women came a hybrid form, not quite the Xenomorph, more of like the the Engineers from Prometheus who were giants, “In those days, and for some time after, giant Nephilites (Nephilim) lived on the earth, for whenever the sons of God had intercourse with women, they gave birth to children who became the heroes (Heracles) and famous warriors of ancient times.” (Genesis 6:4), “And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their proper dwelling—these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day,” (Jude 1:6), “For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell, putting them in chains of darkness to be held for judgment,” (2 Peter 2:4), and “Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon. And the dragon and his angels fought back, but he was defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven. And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world—he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.” (Revelation 12:7-9). Angels are very tall, hence their offspring are giants.
The Lord God was disgusted with this interspecies breeding, and to wipe most of it out He summoned the Flood, “In those days, and for some time after, giant Nephilites lived on the earth, for whenever the sons of God had intercourse with women, they gave birth to children who became the heroes and famous warriors of ancient times.
The Lord observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil. So the Lord was sorry he had ever made them and put them on the earth. It broke his heart. And the Lord said, “I will wipe this human race I have created from the face of the earth. Yes, and I will destroy every living thing—all the people, the large animals, the small animals that scurry along the ground, and even the birds of the sky. I am sorry I ever made them.” But Noah found favor with the Lord.” (Genesis 6:4-8). It is only Noah and his family who had resisted the temptations of Sil (Species movie) and kept procreating with only humankind. You have to understand that we, man and woman are in the image of God, “Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” (Genesis 1:26-27). But the angels, which some are pretty freaky (Ezekiel 1:5-11) are not in the Image of God. So to mix our biology and genetics with one of God’s other creations was to taint the bloodline, to marr the Image of God, it being no different than if humans breed with animals and you got Satyrs and Fauns. So to wipe out these abominations, God released a weather nuke of LV-777 Terra Firma (Earth).
However, it did not end there. The offspring of evil angels and women survived and were found in Canaan, The Promised land, “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them,” (Numbers 13:33), “The Emites used to live there—a people strong and numerous, and as tall as the Anakites,” (Deuteronomy 2:10), “
These Nephilim, Anakim, Emites, and Philistines were giant humans who had grapes so huge that needed rods to carry, “When they came to the valley of Eshcol, they cut down a branch with a single cluster of grapes so large that it took two of them to carry it on a pole between them! They also brought back samples of the pomegranates and figs.” (Numbers 13:23). The Philistines were recently dug up by archeologists and they jave giant skulls, spines, and etc. This is why Samson needed supernatural strength to destroy the Philistines, because they were akin to Nephilim.
The reason the Hebrews/ Jews were told to breed only with their own kind, was to avoid being contaminated by these giant half breeds who had spirits and giant bodies, and who without their bodies would become known as demons who feared the dry place, “The demons begged Jesus, “If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs.” (Matthew 8:31). The demons are disembodied spirits of the Nephilim and other children of angels and women: most of then losing their bodies in the Flood.
Now what becomes of someone if say somehow they had a pinch of Nephilim DNA in them but loved Christ? I would say ultimately only Christ knows, but I would say a possible answer lies in the words of Paul, “I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.,” (Galatians 2:20), “for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ,” (Galatians 3:26-27), and “Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come!” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Jesus caste the demons out of people, “Seeing Jesus from a distance, he ran up and bowed down before Him; and shouting with a loud voice, he *said, “What business do You have with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I implore You by God, do not torment me!” For He had already been saying to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!” And He was asking him, “What is your name?” And he *said to Him, “My name is Legion, for we are many.” And he begged Him earnestly not to send them out of the region. Now there was a large herd of pigs feeding nearby on the mountain. And the demons begged Him, saying, “Send us into the pigs so that we may enter them.” Jesus gave them permission. And coming out, the unclean spirits entered the pigs; and the herd rushed down the steep bank into the sea, about two thousand of them; and they were drowned in the sea.
Their herdsmen ran away and reported it in the city and in the countryside. And the people came to see what it was that had happened. And then they *came to Jesus and *saw the man who had been demon-possessed sitting down, clothed and in his right mind, the very man who had previously had the “legion”;” (Mark 5:7-15), so if Christ can caste out a legion of demons which are the unclean spirits of the Nephilim, he can caste out any disposition in your DNA from your ancestors, cleansing your spirit with His Blood, and adopting you, “For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him,” (Romans 8:15-17), and He cleanses you of all sin, and darkness, He broke the power of the devil, “We are people of flesh and blood. This is why Jesus became one of us. He died to destroy the devil, who had power over death,” (Hebrews 2:14), and “.The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil.” (1 John 3:18).
The enemy (the devil) and his emissaries like to trap people in Nephilim beliefs that they are a doomed hybrid or descendant, but that is a lie. The last of Giants were Goliath and his brother, and then they are no more.
But Jesus does tell us when He returns that this interspecies breeding may return, “Just as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be in the days of the Son of Man. They were eating and drinking and marrying and being given in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.” (Luke 17:26-27). However, Jude seems to say those angels will not return, “And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their proper dwelling—these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day,” (Jude 1:6).
It is disturbing is we are seeing people’s sexual appetites change, love for the unnatural (necrophilia, aliens, angels, etc just look at most anime and its humans in love with demons or angels like Inuyasha), even cyber wives like the man in Japan, and other abominations and strange acts of lasciviousness. It is very possible the dark days of Noah may return. It behooves us to keep our eyes fixed on Christ (Hebrews 12:2) and mediate on what is honorable, “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there isanything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” (Philippians 4:8). Because bat crazy stuff is emerging, and we must like Noah and his family resist the seducing of things that want to taint The Image of God. We need to stay spiritually clothed, “Behold, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is he who stays awake and who keeps his clothes [that is, stays spiritually ready for the Lord’s return], so that he will not be naked—spiritually unprepared—and men will not see his shame.” (Revelation 16:15, AMP). Rejecting any defilements.
I am not saying its certain the Nephilim will return and all that wickedness, but we as human race are already making our own abominations through anime, virtual lives, video games, and etc. The devil may not need tp retry Genesis 6, man it seems is good at inventing sin, “They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents.” (Romans 1:30). But I would not rule out that the Fallen Angels of Genesis 6 may return for there is a verse, “When he opened the Abyss, smoke rose from it like the smoke from a gigantic furnace. The sun and sky were darkened by the smoke from the Abyss,” (Revelation 9:2), and “And the angels who did not keep their positions of authority but abandoned their proper dwelling—these he has kept in darkness, bound with everlasting chains for judgment on the great Day.” (Jude 1:6), and “Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, holding in his hand the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain. And he seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years, and threw him into the pit, and shut it and sealed it over him, so that he might not deceive the nations any longer, until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be released for a little while.” (Revelation 21:1-4): it is clear chains can be removed and that these passages share similarities and thus I believe the return of the depraved fallen angels and Nephilim is possible.
I want to say that be careful not to get obsessed with Nephilim, fallen angels and demonology. I know brother in the Lord who’s mother was seduced away by a Nephiliim teacher and it wrecked their lives. I stick with what Pastor Chip Ingram said, “be aware of the spiritual war, but not preoccupied with it, do Spiritual Warfare when it happens but don’t look for demons under every bush.” Right away any fixation on demons, Nephilim, and etc violates the Scripture that we should fix our eyes on Christ, “fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God,” (Hebrews 12:2) and focus on what is worthy report, “Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” (Philippians 4:8). Addendum:
I wrote this post because I wanted The Lord’s motives in his judgement via The Flood to be understood, that He had cause for flooding the earth when He did. That our Lord who is same in Old and New Testaments did not pour pit wrath on a whim, but was provoked by wickedness that we cannot even fathom save in science fiction.
