The Salvation of Egypt and Assyria

When we think of the end times we tend to picture Christ Returning to Completed Jews and Christian Gentiles. The Gentiles are often pictured as people of Greco-Roman, European, African, Asian, and Latin American (Mexican to Colombian heritages). The idea of Egypt or Modern day Assyria is not what comes to mind first, save maybe those Christians in those countries. But there is shocking promises to the Egyptians and Assyrians that will make many dispensationalists unhappy and change our notions of which nations are more favored of God.

The Prophet of Isaiah shares the future of the Egyptian people in his nineteenth chapter. It begins with the prophet sharing that the Egyptians shall be cursed, their land shall become desolate, and their trade torn asunder by drought. But then there is a promise of salvation! The words of the prophet read:

"19 In that day there will be an altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the Lord near its border. 20 It will become a sign and a witness to the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to the Lord because of oppressors, and He will send them a Savior and a Champion, and He will deliver them. 21 Thus the Lord will make Himself known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know the Lord in that day. They will even worship with sacrifice and offering, and will make a vow to the Lord and perform it. 22 The Lord will strike Egypt, striking but healing; so they will return to the Lord, and He will respond to them and will heal them.
23 In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrians will come into Egypt and the Egyptians into Assyria, and the Egyptians will worship with the Assyrians.
24 In that day Israel will be the third party with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth, 25 whom the Lord of hosts has blessed, saying, “Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance.”

What an incredible promise! The Prophet foretells that Egypt will serve the Lord! It says in verse twenty, that "He will send them a Savior and Champion and He will deliver them." This is Jesus Christ! The Egyptians are going to receive Emmanuel as their redeemer and Lord! Perhaps this why Jesus Christ had to live in Egypt as child (Matthew 2:13-15) in addition to fulfilling other prophecy!

It says the Lord of Hosts who is Jesus Christ (see Revelation) will call "Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands.." This is a great honor the Lord is bestowing upon the two peoples of Egypt and Syria. He doesn't leave Israel out, He calls them, "His inheritance." But honestly, this entire chapter of Isaiah debunks the notions that Israel is the only child of the Most High. We can see right now in the world that Egypt's ruler is very pro-Western and is waging the fight against ISIS. Perhaps soon the land of the Pharaohs will be struck with God's Spirit and revival shall rage across the land as it has in Iran.

Egypt has been an epicenter for the Almighty's work. Abraham passed through Egypt, Joseph became slave there and then a ruler, Moses lead the Israelites out of Egypt, and Jesus Christ spent much of his childhood living in Egypt. It is a place of significance. We tend to revere Israel and the Holy Land, but God has been at work in the Land of the Pyramids. This does not mean that everything about the Egyptians was perfect; no they worshipped a pantheon of gods and did witchcraft. But this promise of the Prophet Isaiah tells us that Egypt shall be "struck, but healed." So keep watch on this land of the ancient Pharaohs, that it will change from being a place that remembers Anubis and Osiris to being a place that worships the Alpha and Omega, the Living God, Jesus Christ!

Addendum:

One of the oldest copies of the Gospel of Mark was found in a mummy. Could this be a foreshadowing of the Egypt's salvation? Does it allude to that the Egyptians already have the Seed of Salvation? Is this why the Egyptian cross can be found in the glyphs and murals?

Israel’s Conquest of Canaan: The Nephilim and Giants

Christianity Today asserts that the conquest of Canaan can be a “stumbling block” for believers. This probably is because of a foolish idea of comparing it to a modern conquest happening in our world. The truth is that God had Israel conquer Canaan because it was ruled by evil giants, “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” (Numbers 13:33). These are Anakim or Nephilim, the children of angels and human women, “When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God (angels) saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. The...

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. According to Darb'ys doctrine of Dispensationalism, God dispenses different covenants. There are total of seven dispensations that divide the history of man: I. Dispensation of Innocence (prior to the Fall, "Do not east of the Fruit of Good and Eve, Eden), II. Dispensation of Conscience ( You must assuage guilt and sin with blood sacrifices.) III. Dispensation of Human Government (Multiply and Subdue the world, example the Tower of Babel Gen 11:1-9, and Genesis 1:28). IV. Dispensation of the Promise (Dwell in Canaan, Jerusalem) V. Dispensation of the Law ("Obey the Law of Moses and the Prophets"). VI. Dispensation of Grace (The Church, Jesus Christ has come...

Jesus’ Name in Aramaic

There has been a trend to render Jesus’ name Hebrew, יֵשׁוּעַ , Yeshua. The problem is neither Christ nor his apostles, nor the Jews in 30-33 A.D. spoke Hebrew, they spoke Aramaic. A ramaic is the oldest language on earth and was the language Jesus spoke. In fact, the oldest Old Testament is the Septuagint a Greco translation around 132 B.C.E. (165 Years Before Christ)that was translated from Aramaic. The Masoretic Text, The Hebrew Old Testament most Bibles use, dates from 7th to 10th Century A.D. (Medieval Times).  This translation does not cross reference with the words of Christ in the New Testament which are Aramaic and Koine Greek.  If the Aramaic was what Jesus spoke, then by what name would have been called? Jesus’ name in Aramaic is Isho or Eesho, spelled ܝܫܘܥ . That is the name of our Lord in Aramaic! He would have heard his name in this dialect, “Hail Isho or Eesho!” as well as the Greek, Ἰ ησο ῦ ς , Iesous.  Aramaic is disappearing, only a few peop...
