Satanic Panic of 1980’s and An Important Message For Today

I found this prophetic teacher Shawn Bolz to be right on, and balanced about discernment and demons. Most deliverance ministers tend to become “preoccupied with demons, seeing demons behind every bush, but we need to be aware of the spiritual war and be prepared” (Chip Ingram, The Spiritual war). Then there are weird exorcists like Bob Larson who have wrong teachings like necromancy salvation for your dead ancestors, Satanists posing as deliverance ministers seeking to put people in bondage in a reverse occultism that has you as focused on the demonic as a Christian as they are on the dark side. But the threat of the demonic, and occultism and its enticements are real. Jesus our Lord cast out demons, “And in the synagogue there was a man who had the spirit of an unclean demon, and he cried out with a loud voice, “Ha! What have you to do with us, Jesus of Nazareth? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are—the Holy One of God.” But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be silent and come out of him!” And when the demon had thrown him down in their midst, he came out of him, having done him no harm. And they were all amazed and said to one another, “What is this word? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!,” (Luke 4:33-36), and He gave advice on fighting demons, “And he said to them, “This kind cannot be driven out by anything but prayer,” (Mark 9:29), The Apostles caste out demons, “The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name (Jesus)!,” (Luke 10:17), and Christ told us we would cast out demons too, “And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues.” (Mark 16:17). The apostle Paul said we must remember we are in a spiritual war, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. ” (Ephesians 6:10-18).

Shawn Bolz (man in video above) got a vision of locust demons of Satan making projects to feed people Satan’s imaginations, and that it would be sophisticated and with great talent. We have seen an uptick in films and movies and video games that have enticing occultic themes and Satanic ideologies, some of it as overt as The Lucifer Series and Netflix’s Sabrina The Teenager Witch. Other etertainment is more covert and enticing like the line by Harvey Dent, “you either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villian.” (The Dark Knight, a very Satanic notion).

This prophet talks about The Satanic Panic in 1980’s and 1990’s with movies like The Exorcist. People use this pandemonium of Christian mothers during the Satanic Panic as a case of hysteria to discredit being discernful about entertainment. But lets look at the movies that came out then. The Burbs  (1989) which highlights The Satanic Panic with Tom Hanks has a very creepy Satanic ritual and depiction of a coven scene. The Highlander (1986) has a final scene when McCloud is sounded by the maelstrome of Quickening energy that becomes giant devils with horns that say, “I know everything! I am everything!” and then possesses him as The Prize. Ghostbusters (1984) which has demonic hell hounds Vinz Cortho and Zuul possessing people to open a gateway to a destroyer god in New York was not just fantasy, Dan Aykroyd admitted in Netflix’s The Movies The Made Us: Ghostbusters that he based Ghostbusters on writings of his ancestor who was a major occultist. The movie Alien (1979) had H. R. Giger design sets and the Xenomorph, Giger so spooked Sigourney Weaver on set she mentions this upset her, and Giger knew Alister Crowley a major Occultist and founder of a occultic sect. Giger illustrated one of the most advanced and ancient spell books The Necronomicon which has goat head pentagrams and grotesque artwork, in fact the Alien artwork Ridley Scott used from Giger is called Necronom IV! Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991) has a horrifying scene of a nuclear blast ripping people including kids to pieces, which as this Shawn Bolz in the video mentions could trigger trauma anxiety, and why would you fill your eyes with such depictions of trauma and death? Plus James Cameron who made The Terminator films made a film agianst Jesus Christ called James Cameron Presents The Lost Tomb of Jesus (2007) were he tries in a fallacious way to debunk The Resurrection our Lord Jesus and His Real Tomb; Wikipedia even calls this pseudoarchaeological, false, and untrustworthy (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lost_Tomb_of_Jesushttps://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pseudoarchaeology).

That is just a handful of popular movies at the time 80’s and 90’s with had actual ties to occultism, proving the Satanic Panic was not wrong. Video Games are also full of the same occultic stuff, with people conjuring & casting spells (Fable, Dungeons & Dragons, Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, The Elder Scrolls Games, and etc), Satanic altars hidden like in Call of Duty: Ghost, Expansion Pack, Swamp Level. In the Doom video games, Doomguy the Hero you play is purported to be the Son of Davoth who is Satan (https://villains.fandom.com/wiki/Dark_Lord_(Doom)) according to Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods. In the Halo video games the enemy is called The Covenant, we are under New Covenant of Jesus and the aliens of Covenant have names like Prophet, Deacon (Halo Wars Grunts), and their ships have names like Truth and Reconciliation while the hero Master Chief wears the armor of the norse half god Thor called MJOLINER armor.

We have to be discernful and repent of watching occultic films, shows, and video games, and do as those delivered from the occult dis in Biblical times, throw them into the fire, “A number of them who had been practicing sorcery brought their incantation books and burned them at a public bonfire. The value of the books was several million dollars.” (Acts 19:19). Now not all entertainment is the devil either, as Shawn Bolz lays out in the video, but there is devilish media we have to guard ourselves against and stop participating in. As the Scriptures say, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God,” (1 John 4:1-3) and using the gift of the discerning of spirits from The Holy Spirit, “To another the working of miracles, to another prophetic insight (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose); to another the ability to discern and distinguish between [the utterances of true] spirits [and false ones], to another various kinds of [unknown] tongues, to another the ability to interpret [such] tongues.” (1 Corinthians 12:10). We have to vigilant, for our enemy the devil prowels, “Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.” (1 Peter 5:8) and seeks to get a foothold in our lives by media, because he knows we Christians won’t go to coven meetings, open spell books, and have altars to demons, but we will watch movies & shows and play video games with digital versions of these things because of curosity, wanting to be in the loop over pop culture, and being enticed by magical and occultic things. I mean I never noticed in Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), that Indiana Jones when sitting with professors and the faculty board they say he is a expert in the occult, and that the film is full of the occult in the opening pagan temple scenes to how the Ark of covenant scene at the end is depicted, with the villian holding a Satanic goat head scepter that is not what High Priest had in the Bible before The Ark.

The enemy is cunning, he seeks to put us in bondage, oppression, entice us into occultic things, and demonic ties. We must be discernful, and not be ”preoccupied with the demonic, but aware and ready to do battle.” (Chip Ingram). Therefore As always our eyes need to be fixed on Jesus, “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:2). While keeping our eyes on Jesus we need to know how to do battle and to be careful of satanic & demonic portals, doors, and attachments that media & entertainment can bring into our lives. Not every movie or game is the devil, but there are demonic, occultic, and Satanic films, shows, and video games, and it behooves us to be discernful, purge such entertainments of the evil one and be cleansed by The Holy Spirit.

The prevalence of occultism and demonization has grown to the point that The Catholic Church says they do not have enough priests trained in deliverance to meet demand. We are living in a era of occultism and Satanic interest, so we must be careful what we see, are entertained by, and participate in. Its not about panic, its about being prudent, discerning, and aware of the enemy’s tactics to bring bondage. Amen.

Israel’s Conquest of Canaan: The Nephilim and Giants

Christianity Today asserts that the conquest of Canaan can be a “stumbling block” for believers. This probably is because of a foolish idea of comparing it to a modern conquest happening in our world. The truth is that God had Israel conquer Canaan because it was ruled by evil giants, “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” (Numbers 13:33). These are Anakim or Nephilim, the children of angels and human women, “When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God (angels) saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. The...

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. According to Darb'ys doctrine of Dispensationalism, God dispenses different covenants. There are total of seven dispensations that divide the history of man: I. Dispensation of Innocence (prior to the Fall, "Do not east of the Fruit of Good and Eve, Eden), II. Dispensation of Conscience ( You must assuage guilt and sin with blood sacrifices.) III. Dispensation of Human Government (Multiply and Subdue the world, example the Tower of Babel Gen 11:1-9, and Genesis 1:28). IV. Dispensation of the Promise (Dwell in Canaan, Jerusalem) V. Dispensation of the Law ("Obey the Law of Moses and the Prophets"). VI. Dispensation of Grace (The Church, Jesus Christ has come...

Jesus’ Name in Aramaic

There has been a trend to render Jesus’ name Hebrew, יֵשׁוּעַ , Yeshua. The problem is neither Christ nor his apostles, nor the Jews in 30-33 A.D. spoke Hebrew, they spoke Aramaic. A ramaic is the oldest language on earth and was the language Jesus spoke. In fact, the oldest Old Testament is the Septuagint a Greco translation around 132 B.C.E. (165 Years Before Christ)that was translated from Aramaic. The Masoretic Text, The Hebrew Old Testament most Bibles use, dates from 7th to 10th Century A.D. (Medieval Times).  This translation does not cross reference with the words of Christ in the New Testament which are Aramaic and Koine Greek.  If the Aramaic was what Jesus spoke, then by what name would have been called? Jesus’ name in Aramaic is Isho or Eesho, spelled ܝܫܘܥ . That is the name of our Lord in Aramaic! He would have heard his name in this dialect, “Hail Isho or Eesho!” as well as the Greek, Ἰ ησο ῦ ς , Iesous.  Aramaic is disappearing, only a few peop...
