Why The Septuagint Matters **Important New Update**

There is much debate on which Old Testament is supreme. There is Medieval Masoretic Text (900 A.D.) which most Protestant Bibles use, which is unwise because Jewish translators by then tried to strip any allusions to Christ from their Tanakhs (Old Testaments), even removing Isaiah Chapter Fifty Three (Chapter 53) from many of their Tanakhs. There is Jerome’s Hebriaca Veritas (390 A.D.), which again he used a Jew to help him translate, and by then Jews were antagonistic towards Christianity. Then there is The Septuagint, created in 60 B.C. by Seventy Scholars from all Twelves tribes for the Pharaoh in Alexandria, which was the Oxford of the ancient world with the best texts and sources in its famous Library of Alexandria. The Septuagint was written in Greek, the most precise language because it has such descriptive words and variances of words to convey meaning like the seven greek words for love:

  • Eros: romantic, passionate love
  • Philia: intimate, authentic friendship. ...
  • Erotoropia or ludus: playful, flirtatious love. ...
  • Storge: unconditional, familial love. ...
  • Philautia: compassionate self-love. ...
  • Pragma: committed, companionate love. ...
  • Agápe: empathetic, universal love.

Compare those seven Greek words for love to the one word in English for love which is love and you see how Greek is more percise. The Septuagint was the essential Old Testament and it has the proper translation of Isaiah 7:14 which reads, “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel.” Modern English translations based on the Masoretic Text use the less accurate Hebrew of Alma or puella in Greek to use the word “a young woman or maiden,” when it is parthenos which is Virgin as the Septuagint says!  You have to remember 60 B.C. Is sixty years before the Birth of Christ, there was no concerted efforts by Jewish translators and Hebrew scholars to obfuscate passages regarding The Messiah. They were in anticipation of the Christ, but because of The Sect known as The Way and Nazarenes, Christians, the Jews began to alter and abridge their old testaments to hide all passages that affirm Jesus is the Christ and The Lord Almighty.

This is why The Septuagint is so important, it is in Greek, the universal language in the ancient world and the language The New Testament was first written in!  Which leads to the most important fact about The Septuagint, it is the Old Testament Jesus our Lord and the Apostles quote from in The New Testament. For example Matthew 1:23, “to fulfill what had been spoken by the Lord through the prophet, ‘Look, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall name him Immanuel,” directly quotes from The Septuagint Isaiah 7:14 that reads, “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel”. Augustine of Hippo argued with Jerome who was creating his Hebraica Veritas translation, and Augustine rightly argued, “the Septuagint is what our Lord Jesus and his apostles quoted, why would we use another translation if it was what they used?” (Paraphrase). Indeed, if God Incarnate, Jesus Christ, quoted the Septuagint, than it is the definitive and trustworthy translation! In fact The Septuagint is quoted 90 times literally in The New Testament, and 80 further times in an altered, abridged, or mixed style. Why would Bible Scholars then abandoned the very Old Testament Jesus our Lord and His Apostles used? If it was good enough for them, it should be good enough for us!

One of major problems of modern English Bible translations switching from The Septuagint to Masoretic Text is that the Greek New Testament quotes of The Greek Septuagint Old Testament do not match up in The Masoretic Hebrew Text, and worse you get issues like Isaiah 7:14 saying “young woman” in Masoretic Text instead of the proper and true wording of “virgin” in The Septuagint which the Jews changed in The Masoretic Text because they wanted to erase Christ and all allusions to him because they refuse to believe in Him as Messiah and Lord. The Masoretic Text dates 900 A.D. (10th Century), The Middle Ages, when Jews were mistreated by Catholic Christians like for example in The Rhineland Massacres in 1096 A.D. and thus in tension with Christians. In the 4th and 5th Centuries (300-400 A.D.) the Jews got involved in Egyptian Occult when they stayed in Egypt as migrants, it was there they developed Kaballah and adopted the Star of David which is really The Seal of Solomon and an ancient witchcraft star of Egyptian occult. This occultic influence and a hatred of Christ and Christianity makes the Masoretic Text most Protestant Bibles use problematic because by then the Jews are involved in occult and have prejudices against Jesus and The Church which influenced their translating of passages like Isaiah 7:14. The Septuagint being in 60 B.C. predates Jews getting involved in the occult and there was no prejudices against Jesus and His followers since Jesus hadn’t been born in the flesh yet.

Most Protestant translations do use The Septuagint for passages like Isaiah 7:14 as in The English Standard Version (ESV), New Living Translation (NLT), New International Version (NIV) and others; they mix translations of the Old Testament to get what the translators say “is the most balanced and accurate rendering of the verses”. To get a Septuagint Old Testament you’ll want to order “Lancelot C. L. Brenton’s

The Septuagint with Apocrypha: Greek and English” one volume or another Septuagint like “A New English Translation of the Septuagint,” edited by Albert Pietersma and Benjamin G. Wright. Stay away and do not order The Orthodox Study Bible, Hardcover: Ancient Christianity Speaks to Today's World by St. Athanasius Academy of Orthodox Theology, it is full of Occultic icons and erroneous lnotes as found on John 3:16 which distort the truth of John 3:16. It is created by a school of Eastern Orthodox Theology which means it has all their demonic doctrines that obscure the simple gospel that we are saved by grace thru faith in Christ alone (John 3:16, John 6:40, John 17:3, Acts 15:4-11, Romans 10:9-10, Ephesians 2:4-10, Philippians 3:7-9) and that we are sealed with salvation: once saved always saved

(John 10:25-30). Eastern Orthodox Theology is corrupted, and we must stick to Scripture, not their antichrist commentaries and doctrines

I have chosen to highlight this subject because translators are relying too much on Jewish scribes, scholars, and translators & their Hebrew Old Testament which can have antichrist alterations and omissions.   As the Church we need to guard The Holy Bible from anyone wanting to subvert our faith, “Even that question came up only because of some so-called believers there—false ones, really—who were secretly brought in. They sneaked in to spy on us and take away the freedom we have in Christ Jesus. They wanted to enslave us and force us to follow their Jewish regulations.” (Galatians 2:4).

However, I do not want you to panic and throw out all bibles not based on The Septuagint! Most modern english Bibles use The Septuagint for many passages like Isaiah 7:14, so the average believer will see the correct rending in their Bibles of “virgin” there in English, but the trouble comes if you do deeper study and look up Hebrew, Aramaic,  and Greek you will be confused why Virgin in The Masoretic Text is The Hebrew word Alma and the Greek puella which is “young woman or young maiden” rather than Septuagint word which is parthenos (virgin) or Jerome’s Hebraiaca Veritas that uses Virgo that means “virgin,” from The Septuagint. This is why I bringing attention to this matter, that on deeper study you will get different words and why and that you need to have a Septuagint in your collection for deeper study, especially if you want to look up the 90 direct quotes of Septuagint by Jesus and His Apostles. Amen.

Israel’s Conquest of Canaan: The Nephilim and Giants

Christianity Today asserts that the conquest of Canaan can be a “stumbling block” for believers. This probably is because of a foolish idea of comparing it to a modern conquest happening in our world. The truth is that God had Israel conquer Canaan because it was ruled by evil giants, “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” (Numbers 13:33). These are Anakim or Nephilim, the children of angels and human women, “When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God (angels) saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. The...

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. According to Darb'ys doctrine of Dispensationalism, God dispenses different covenants. There are total of seven dispensations that divide the history of man: I. Dispensation of Innocence (prior to the Fall, "Do not east of the Fruit of Good and Eve, Eden), II. Dispensation of Conscience ( You must assuage guilt and sin with blood sacrifices.) III. Dispensation of Human Government (Multiply and Subdue the world, example the Tower of Babel Gen 11:1-9, and Genesis 1:28). IV. Dispensation of the Promise (Dwell in Canaan, Jerusalem) V. Dispensation of the Law ("Obey the Law of Moses and the Prophets"). VI. Dispensation of Grace (The Church, Jesus Christ has come...

Jesus’ Name in Aramaic

There has been a trend to render Jesus’ name Hebrew, יֵשׁוּעַ , Yeshua. The problem is neither Christ nor his apostles, nor the Jews in 30-33 A.D. spoke Hebrew, they spoke Aramaic. A ramaic is the oldest language on earth and was the language Jesus spoke. In fact, the oldest Old Testament is the Septuagint a Greco translation around 132 B.C.E. (165 Years Before Christ)that was translated from Aramaic. The Masoretic Text, The Hebrew Old Testament most Bibles use, dates from 7th to 10th Century A.D. (Medieval Times).  This translation does not cross reference with the words of Christ in the New Testament which are Aramaic and Koine Greek.  If the Aramaic was what Jesus spoke, then by what name would have been called? Jesus’ name in Aramaic is Isho or Eesho, spelled ܝܫܘܥ . That is the name of our Lord in Aramaic! He would have heard his name in this dialect, “Hail Isho or Eesho!” as well as the Greek, Ἰ ησο ῦ ς , Iesous.  Aramaic is disappearing, only a few peop...
