Ten Errors of the Catholic Church

I. Father

The Roman Catholic Church has all priests addressed as Father, and the Pope means Papa.

Jesus said, “And do not call anyone on earth ‘father,’ for you have one Father, and he is in heaven.” (Matthew 23:9)

II. Marriage Forbid

Since the Investiture Controversy, the Roman Catholic Church forbids clergy to marry, from the lowest priest to the pope, no may marry.

“Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons, through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared,

who forbid marriage and require abstinence from foods that God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving, for it is made holy by the word of God and prayer.” (1 Timothy 4:1-5)

All the Disciples had wives, including Rome’s first pope, Peter,

“Don’t we have the right to bring a believing wife with us as the other apostles and the Lord’s brothers do, and as Peter does?” (1 Corinthians 9:5)

III. The Eucharist

The Papists claim that Jesus is literally and physically present in the bread and wine at the Communion. This comes from bad understanding of John 6:56-66.

The truth is The Lord’s Supper is a memorial created from The Passover, “And when the hour came, he reclined at table, and the apostles with him. [And he said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you I will not eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he said, “Take this, and divide it among yourselves. For I tell you that from now on I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.” And he took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” And likewise the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.” (Luke 22:14-20), and “For I received from the Lord what I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus on the night when he was betrayed took bread,  and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, “This is my body, which is broken for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.” (1 Corinthians 11:23-26). Its about Remembering Christ’s death until he comes again and focusing on the New Covenant in Him. Which is clear in both passages having emphasis “do this in remembrance of Me.”

The Eucharist among Romans is seen as sacrificing Christ again and again, to provide merit for the living and dead, this is error, for Jesus does not sacrifice himself over and over, but once for all time, “For Christ has entered, not into holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf. Nor was it to offer himself repeatedly, as the high priest enters the holy places every year with blood not his own, for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.” (Hebrews 9:24-28)

IV. Repetitious Prayer

The Catholic Church invokes repetitious prayers via prayer books and the rosary where the prayers “Hail Mary” which comes from the Gnostic gospel of Mary that the Roman Church ironically rejected, and the “Our Father Prayer” which are said over decades in the form of beads to count prayers.

Jesus said do not repeat prayers, “But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking, Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.” (Matthew 6:7-8, KJV). We see even here where he teaches the Our Father, he opens with a command not to repeat prayers (Matthew 6:7-13). So his intent is clear he never intended the Our Father to be used as the Catholics do.

V. Infant Baptism

The custom of Infant baptism is an invention of the Roman Catholic Church.

In the Bible people were baptized when they could make conscious choice to believe in Christ:

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” (Matthew 28:19) You cannot make disciples of babies who can’t understand, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? ... So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God..” (Romans 10:13-14, 17).

“And it happened that while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul passed through the inland country and came to Ephesus. There he found some disciples. And he said to them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?” And they said, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.” And he said, “Into what then were you baptized?” They said, “Into John’s baptism.” And Paul said, “John baptized with the baptism of repentance, telling the people to believe in the one who was to come after him, that is, Jesus.” On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they began speaking in tongues and prophesying. There were about twelve men in all.” (Acts 19:1-7)

VI. Last Rites

When a Catholic is dying they call a Priest to preform last rites, such as anointing and prayers to help the soul have a better chance of reaching paradise instead of purgatory upon death. This is because Catholics do mot believe in the assurance of salvation and heaven.

Scripture tells us confidently we are assured of salvation and being with Him in heaven:

“if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. For the Scripture says, “Everyone who believes in him will not be put to shame.”  For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him. For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”” (Romans 10:9-13)

“We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 5:8)

“To live is Christ, to die is gain. It is a hard choice to make. I want to die and be with Christ, because this would be much better. ” (Philippians 1:21, 23, CEV)

We are assured that we who trust in Christ and his all sufficient sacrifice shall be with Him in heaven when we die. We don’t need last rites.

VII. Purgatory

It is known that Dante when he visited the Inferno and Paradiso did not see the Purgatorio. Being threatened he made a third volume, the Purgatory which resembles the Inferno.

Purgatory is a place where saints who committed Mortal Sins go to be purged, cleansed and made ready to go to paradise, this can take millions of years! To shorten the duration masses for the dead and other indulgences are invoked.

Scripture makes it clear there is no intermediate place of cleansing.

Jesus has cleansed us once for all, “Some of you were once like that. But you were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.” (1 Corinthians 6:12, NLT), alt version “And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.”

You die and are judged, “And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment” (Hebrews 9:27)

The closest thing to purgatory was a place called hades and Abraham’s Bosom, and Jesus emptied it, “Because Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, to bring you to God, by being put to death in the flesh but by being made alive in the spirit. In it he went and preached to the spirits in prison, after they were disobedient long ago when God patiently waited in the days of Noah as an ark was being constructed. In the ark a few, that is eight souls, were delivered through water.” (1 Peter 3:18-20, NET)

“Acts 2:24 that “God hath raised up Christ, having loosed the sorrows of hell, as it was impossible that He should be holden by it.”

“Lord descended into Hell after He offered His life on the cross. “Now that He ascended, what is it, but because He also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?” (Ephesians 4:9)

VIII. Clerical Robes and Seats

The Roman Bishops, Cardinals, and Priests wear lavish vestments and sit on cadre, from which cathedral gets its name, a seat of the bishop, which is similar to the seat of Moses, as is the lavish Pharisee robes,  “The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses’ seat, so do and observe whatever they tell you, but not the works they do. For they preach, but do not practice.. They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger. They do all their deeds to be seen by others. For they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long, and they love the place of honor at feasts and the best seats in the synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces and being called rabbi by others. But you are not to be called rabbi, for you have one teacher, and you are all brothers. And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven. Neither be called instructors, for you have one instructor, the Christ. The greatest among you shall be your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.” (Matthew 23:2-12).

IX. Medals, Crosses,  Scapulars, and Holy Statues

Catholics believe that medals and statues of saints, crucifixes, crosses, and other such things provide supernatural protection. This means they trust in them like talismans, which is idolatry.

Jesus said, “Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only” (Luke 4:8)

The Lord warns against medals and amulets:

“In that day, the Lord will take away the beauty of their anklets, headbands, crescent ornaments, dangling earrings, bracelets, veils, headdresses, ankle chains, sashes, perfume boxes [and] amulets” (Isaiah 3:18-20, NAS).

“This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Woe to the women who sew magic charms on all their wrists and make veils of various lengths for their heads in order to ensnare people. Will you ensnare the lives of my people but preserve your own? . . . I am against your magic charms with which you ensnare people like birds and I will tear them from your arms; I will set free the people that you ensnare like birds. I will tear off your veils and save my people from your hands, and they will no longer fall prey to your power” (Ezekiel 13:18, 20, 21, NIV).

“In addition to wearing amulets, pagan peoples also possessed larger talismans called “teraphim,” or household idols. These miniature images were kept in the home or would be taken along on journeys. The use of these figurines infiltrated Israel, and God was opposed to them. “Moreover, Josiah removed the mediums and the spirits and the teraphim and the idols and all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in Jerusalem, that he might confirm the words of the law which were written in the book” (2 Kings 23:24, NAS, and Bibleinfo).

X. Nicolaitism / Pagan Mixture

In The Apocalypse of St. John (Revelation) the Lord Jesus says he hates the Nicolaitians. The Nicolaitians followed a heretic named Nicholas who praticised Christianity and Satanism/ Dark Arts; it is a person who blend the holy and the pagan, God’s powers and magic. Today this is most prevalent in people who are Free Mason (43 Degree they reveal the spirit of light Masons make a vow to is Satan, for “Satan disguise himself as an Angel of light,” 2 Corinthians 11:14) and Christian. The Roman Catholic Church allows such duality in the form of J. K. Rowling who wrote the Harry Potter Books which Bakersfield Witches said contains spells too advanced for their kids, and Ann Rice who writes Vampiric and Gnostic books such as “Interview with a Vampire,” and “The Young Messiah.” Worse than this the Catholic church has adopted pagan customns:

Rosaries come from Buddhist and Hindu beads.

Sacred Hearts from the Mayan Heart Candle

Celtic Pagan Roads on the Celtic Cross

Etc.

The mixing of authentic Christian customs from the New Testament with pagan practices  was how The Roman Church could usher in pagans without making requirements of them. True converts to Christ caste off their paganisms and crafts:

“And a number of those who had practiced magic arts brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all. And they counted the value of them and found it came to fifty thousand pieces of silver (several million dollars).” (Acts 19:19)

I omitted the two greatest errors of the RCC, Catholic Justification (Salvation) and Marian Idolatry which have been addressed in other posts which you can read:

“Seduced By The Catholic Side” and  “Queen of Heaven.”

What is ironic is the Roman Catholic Church canonized the Holy Bible which contains the oracles of God that condemn their practices and customs. The fact they purposely go against the teaching of Christ and the apostles is telling. Amen.

Israel’s Conquest of Canaan: The Nephilim and Giants

Christianity Today asserts that the conquest of Canaan can be a “stumbling block” for believers. This probably is because of a foolish idea of comparing it to a modern conquest happening in our world. The truth is that God had Israel conquer Canaan because it was ruled by evil giants, “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” (Numbers 13:33). These are Anakim or Nephilim, the children of angels and human women, “When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God (angels) saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These w

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. According to Darb'ys doctrine of Dispensationalism, God dispenses different covenants. There are total of seven dispensations that divide the history of man: I. Dispensation of Innocence (prior to the Fall, "Do not east of the Fruit of Good and Eve, Eden), II. Dispensation of Conscience ( You must assuage guilt and sin with blood sacrifices.) III. Dispensation of Human Government (Multiply and Subdue the world, example the Tower of Babel Gen 11:1-9, and Genesis 1:28). IV. Dispensation of the Promise (Dwell in Canaan, Jerusalem) V. Dispensation of the Law ("Obey the Law of Moses and the Prophets"). VI. Dispensation of Grace (The Church, Jesus Christ has come and died for our sins an

Jesus’ Name in Aramaic

There has been a trend to render Jesus’ name Hebrew, יֵשׁוּעַ , Yeshua. The problem is neither Christ nor his apostles, nor the Jews in 30-33 A.D. spoke Hebrew, they spoke Aramaic. A ramaic is the oldest language on earth and was the language Jesus spoke. In fact, the oldest Old Testament is the Septuagint a Greco translation around 132 B.C.E. (165 Years Before Christ)that was translated from Aramaic. The Masoretic Text, The Hebrew Old Testament most Bibles use, dates from 7th to 10th Century A.D. (Medieval Times).  This translation does not cross reference with the words of Christ in the New Testament which are Aramaic and Koine Greek.  If the Aramaic was what Jesus spoke, then by what name would have been called? Jesus’ name in Aramaic is Isho or Eesho, spelled ܝܫܘܥ . That is the name of our Lord in Aramaic! He would have heard his name in this dialect, “Hail Isho or Eesho!” as well as the Greek, Ἰ ησο ῦ ς , Iesous.  Aramaic is disappearing, only a few people are endeavo
