Hungary: Defender of the Faith

 


The nation of Hungary is stepping in to help persecuted Christians around the world! The program is called “Hungary Helps!” The State Secretary for the Aid of Persecuted Christians, Tristan Abej, has said “There are 340 million people who are discriminated or threatened or suffering genocidal attacks because of their faith in Christ.” (CBN News, https://www1.cbn.com/cbnnews/world/2021/august/hungary-defends-biblical-principles-and-helps-the-persecuted-hungary-is-a-christian-nation). It is a great relief to know one nation is standing by our brothers and sisters in Christ. More than that they have helped Christians worldwide: 


“In four years, Hungary has supported a quarter-million persecuted Christians, helped reconstruct 67 churches in Lebanon, and completely rebuilt the Christian town of Telskuf in Iraq after it was decimated by ISIS.” (CBN News, https://www1.cbn.com/cbnnews/world/2021/august/hungary-defends-biblical-principles-and-helps-the-persecuted-hungary-is-a-christian-nation). 


It is evident Hungary deserves the title Fide Defensor: Defender of the Faith. 


Secretary Azbej explains that he and his team travel to where Christians are experiencing tribulation and offer help: 


“Hungary's approach is simple. Azbej and his team travel to where Christians are hurting and ask to help. Their reception is universal.

"They are truly shocked in the good sense that there is someone in the world who is actually caring about their faith." (CBN News, https://www1.cbn.com/cbnnews/world/2021/august/hungary-defends-biblical-principles-and-helps-the-persecuted-hungary-is-a-christian-nation) 


Azbej and his team are living out the words of Christ (see bold): 


“The Final Judgment


“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ 

And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.” (Matthew 25:31-46) 


Hungary is doing as Christ said, helping Christians which means helping Christ too. While other nations have been indifferent towards the plight of Christians, Hungary is stepping in and for that they shall receive rewards from Christ on Judgement Day, and will have the love and gratitude of fellow Christians! The Lord Trinity bless Hungary for helping the saints all over the world. Thanks be to God that there is one nation defending the faith. Amen.

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. There is a divide between the two sides of Christianity. One is lined by a rosary, the other with tallit (prayer shawl). In the west we tend to come from a Greco-Roman understanding of The Bible and Jesus Christ.
