The Disrespect of Christianity in the Entertainment Industry

Sonic 2
I have written many blog posts about the insidious truth about some of the most beloved franchises. The Truth of The Lord of the Rings, Narnia, and Star Wars comes to mind. Having reflected on the famous shows, films, and video games I have been involved in. There is a common theme of disrespect towards Christ and Christianity. Let me give you exhibit A: Sonic the Hedgehog. In Sonic The Hedgehog 2 for the SEGA Genesis and subsequent installments, the Blue Blur can run across water. For children this is affirmation that Sonic is a superhero and that he can run so fast that he merely glides across the surface of water. What this does subconsciously however, is downplay Christ walking on water. It creates in young children's minds the concept that running across water is more amazing and action packed than Jesus walking on the water. It in subtle way makes young people think they Sonic can do something more spectacular than the Son of God! To even drive home the point, Sonic eventually can become Super Sonic and fly above the waters, this making Christ's Ascension seem slow in contrast to speeding yellow bullet in the sky. Sonic The Hedgehog 2 and 3 came out in 90's so it is evident that companies have been trying to disrespect Christ even at very subtle level.

Then there is Pixar and the film The Incredibles. I personally enjoyed The Incredibles, but found yet again in middle of the film more anti-Christ digs. The son of the main protagonist is Dash and in one scene on an island he is running away from enemies and finds himself running across a lake. This is the same subtle and sinister message that is meant to get children to believe that speed makes the spectacular feat more important and in process makes the Son of God's steps on the Sea of Galilee less amazing.

Pixar's The Incredibles, Dash

Moving on to another image that sets the subconscious of children to be anti-Christ. There is a scene in Disney's Enchanted. Enchanted is film about princess who leaves the 2D Disney realm of fantasy and ends up in New York City in our dimension. Following after the Princess is a Prince and loud mouth squirrel. In one scene the squirrel is apprehended by treacherous servant of the Prince and placed in position that is to say something about crucifixion.

Disney's Enchanted, Pip Crucified

This scene is an obvious mockery of Christ's crucifixion. It dares to use the most excruciating torture in comical or sacrilegious way. This scene is short and I could barely find one picture of it! It is as if Disney has stripped Google, Bing, and Yahoo from any traces of it. It is no surprise that a Disney film would be anti-Christ. Most of Disney's films have magic, witches, and other Occultic elements. I found this particular scene blatant insult towards True Religion.

Then we have Stephen Spielberg's two films that are antagonistic towards Christianity. The first and most egregious is Lincoln. In Lincoln, Abraham Lincoln says, "I want to go to Jerusalem, to walk where King David walked." This is a lie. The real quote from Lincoln's journal is "I want to go to Jerusalem and see were my Savior walked." Spielberg has stripped true history and replaced it with his own belief! He has taken Lincoln, a devout Christian president and depicted him like a devout Jew! Now I have nothing against Jews, in fact the first Christians were Jews and Jesus Christ himself is the Son of David (Rolans 1:1-5). However, to change history for audiences because you do not agree with someone's faith is atrocious! The second is Jurassic Park. In the epic scene when the T-Rex is release from his Paddock, the only person who is eaten is the Lawyer Generro. If you listen to Generro when the toilet is falling down he is saying, "Mary, Mother of God" and then he says before he is devoured by the devilish Rex, "Oh Jesus.." Generro is a Catholic. It is interesting that the only quasi-Christian in the film is depicted in an unflattering light and that he is eaten in the most memorable death in the film.

Lincoln, 2012

These are just some prominate examples of disrespect and hostiality towards Christianity. There are thousands, perhaps hundreds of thousands more that I could dig up or try to recollect to include. What is clear is that in Hollywood, The Media, and the Entertainment Industry in general there is a desire to deface and defame our faith.  I urge all fellow Christians to take notice of these subtle, but Satanic attacks on our faith and consider what it is going to cost you to stop the disrespect. I am not calling for boycott, if I did, you might never be able to do anything in the world. But, it is disturbing that our favorite films, games, and shows have major scorn for our Savior. I would ask that if you are a Christian and desire to get involved in Hollywood, Gaming, and Television, run! Run, do not walk to the industry and start taking it back for Christ! Stop the sacrilege and tell stories that edify believers. We should not become monks and nuns and hide from the tide. Instead, equip yourselves and take back the industry. Of course you will need faith, a steady resolve, and a major measure of prayer to be successful. But remember David, he defeated Goliath, not because of stones, but because he trusted the One True God.

Israel’s Conquest of Canaan: The Nephilim and Giants

Christianity Today asserts that the conquest of Canaan can be a “stumbling block” for believers. This probably is because of a foolish idea of comparing it to a modern conquest happening in our world. The truth is that God had Israel conquer Canaan because it was ruled by evil giants, “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” (Numbers 13:33). These are Anakim or Nephilim, the children of angels and human women, “When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God (angels) saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. The...

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. According to Darb'ys doctrine of Dispensationalism, God dispenses different covenants. There are total of seven dispensations that divide the history of man: I. Dispensation of Innocence (prior to the Fall, "Do not east of the Fruit of Good and Eve, Eden), II. Dispensation of Conscience ( You must assuage guilt and sin with blood sacrifices.) III. Dispensation of Human Government (Multiply and Subdue the world, example the Tower of Babel Gen 11:1-9, and Genesis 1:28). IV. Dispensation of the Promise (Dwell in Canaan, Jerusalem) V. Dispensation of the Law ("Obey the Law of Moses and the Prophets"). VI. Dispensation of Grace (The Church, Jesus Christ has come...

Jesus’ Name in Aramaic

There has been a trend to render Jesus’ name Hebrew, יֵשׁוּעַ , Yeshua. The problem is neither Christ nor his apostles, nor the Jews in 30-33 A.D. spoke Hebrew, they spoke Aramaic. A ramaic is the oldest language on earth and was the language Jesus spoke. In fact, the oldest Old Testament is the Septuagint a Greco translation around 132 B.C.E. (165 Years Before Christ)that was translated from Aramaic. The Masoretic Text, The Hebrew Old Testament most Bibles use, dates from 7th to 10th Century A.D. (Medieval Times).  This translation does not cross reference with the words of Christ in the New Testament which are Aramaic and Koine Greek.  If the Aramaic was what Jesus spoke, then by what name would have been called? Jesus’ name in Aramaic is Isho or Eesho, spelled ܝܫܘܥ . That is the name of our Lord in Aramaic! He would have heard his name in this dialect, “Hail Isho or Eesho!” as well as the Greek, Ἰ ησο ῦ ς , Iesous.  Aramaic is disappearing, only a few peop...
