All Hallow's Eve: All Hell's Evening

Halloween is the most morbid and morose holiday. It celebrates death and demonic imagery. Children are compelled to dress up as witches, skeletons, beasts, and other macabre beings. To my astonishment many Christians find no problem with celebrating All Hollow's Eve. In fact, it is considered to be benign to most believers. However, the origins of Halloween date back to the Druids, a paganistic people who did human sacrifice. The Druids on All Hollow's Eve would go from door to door to pick up sacrifices in form of sons and daughters. They would leave a pumpkin or Jack-o-latern lit with human fat inside! This is the most extreme and disturbing history of Halloween, but there are other traditions.

One wicked tradition is within the Church itself! In Mexico, children on "All Hallows Eve, the children make a children's altar to invite the angelitos (spirits of dead children) to come back for a visit." (Religious Observances, Halloween, Wikipedia).  This is divination and necromancing, which is explicitly forbidden by God in Leviticus!; "Turn not unto necromancers (conjures of the dead, calling the dead spirits) and unto soothsayers; seek not after them to make yourselves unclean: I am Jehovah your God." (Leviticus 19:31, DB)

Other traditions say that it was Celtic Christian holiday and that the Celts preserved their paganism through the rites and rituals of All Hollow's Eve. I frankly cannot understand why any Bible believing Christian would participate in such pernicious and perverse holiday! A friend of mine from England (where holiday originated) was appalled to learn that here in America we celebrate All Hollow's Eve. In England my friend said, "the Satanists do so many curses and such black arts, that we have to write Bible verses on our walls and pray diligently during the festivities."

How can such cognitive dissonance reign in the saints?! 364 Days of the year we aspire to carry Christ's light. But on October 31st, believers are willing to entreat such darkness and conjure such sinister spirits?! Now you might be thinking I am overreacting. That many celebrate more moderately, having their children dress up as knights, princesses, superheroes, and just asking for candy at each door or going to harvest festivals. The counter argument would say they aren't interested in human sacrifice or satanic rites. True, but the purpose and creation of the holiday is steeped in Druid-Occultism. It came from people who were not servants of Jesus, but of the enemy! Why should any Christian be associated with such evil?! How is that a witness to the world around us?

I understand the desire to dress up and pretend to be your favorite character. This can be achieved at Renaissance Faires, ComicCons, and other events. Halloween is a celebration of hell and hedonistic practices. While people are strolling about in their costumes, real Satanists are doing unspeakable horrors to people and animals. I beg you to consider the dangers of being involved in day dedicated to the devil. We are suppose to be, "salt and light to the world." (Matthew 5:13-16). Not darkness and demonic on one day of the year! God fearing believers would never openly join witches in their curses and incantations; but they will place a witch and cauldron on their lawn? When with this dissonance end? When people stop compartmentalizing their spirituality?! I urge you to instead pray for the souls of the sinister folk who will be doing sadistic practices. Pray that they are saved by Jesus Christ and pray that the evil intended for whole Christian body tomorrow is null and void. Pray for your children, family members, friends, and yourselves that Christ protect you on the darkest day of the year.

Israel’s Conquest of Canaan: The Nephilim and Giants

Christianity Today asserts that the conquest of Canaan can be a “stumbling block” for believers. This probably is because of a foolish idea of comparing it to a modern conquest happening in our world. The truth is that God had Israel conquer Canaan because it was ruled by evil giants, “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” (Numbers 13:33). These are Anakim or Nephilim, the children of angels and human women, “When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God (angels) saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. The...

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. According to Darb'ys doctrine of Dispensationalism, God dispenses different covenants. There are total of seven dispensations that divide the history of man: I. Dispensation of Innocence (prior to the Fall, "Do not east of the Fruit of Good and Eve, Eden), II. Dispensation of Conscience ( You must assuage guilt and sin with blood sacrifices.) III. Dispensation of Human Government (Multiply and Subdue the world, example the Tower of Babel Gen 11:1-9, and Genesis 1:28). IV. Dispensation of the Promise (Dwell in Canaan, Jerusalem) V. Dispensation of the Law ("Obey the Law of Moses and the Prophets"). VI. Dispensation of Grace (The Church, Jesus Christ has come...

Jesus’ Name in Aramaic

There has been a trend to render Jesus’ name Hebrew, יֵשׁוּעַ , Yeshua. The problem is neither Christ nor his apostles, nor the Jews in 30-33 A.D. spoke Hebrew, they spoke Aramaic. A ramaic is the oldest language on earth and was the language Jesus spoke. In fact, the oldest Old Testament is the Septuagint a Greco translation around 132 B.C.E. (165 Years Before Christ)that was translated from Aramaic. The Masoretic Text, The Hebrew Old Testament most Bibles use, dates from 7th to 10th Century A.D. (Medieval Times).  This translation does not cross reference with the words of Christ in the New Testament which are Aramaic and Koine Greek.  If the Aramaic was what Jesus spoke, then by what name would have been called? Jesus’ name in Aramaic is Isho or Eesho, spelled ܝܫܘܥ . That is the name of our Lord in Aramaic! He would have heard his name in this dialect, “Hail Isho or Eesho!” as well as the Greek, Ἰ ησο ῦ ς , Iesous.  Aramaic is disappearing, only a few peop...
