Who is Leviathan?

In the Prophet Isaiah, Chapter Twenty Seven, the Lord tells of a day when The Leviathan, a dragon will be defeated by him with a sword, and we shall sing in the vineyard and bear fruit, "In that day the Lord with His severe sword, great and strong,
Will punish Leviathan the fleeing serpent,
Leviathan that twisted serpent; Sing about a fruitful vineyard: I, the Lord, watch over it I water it continually.  guard it day and night so that no one may harm it." (Isaiah 27:1-2). These verses are fulfilled in the Book of Revelation, "Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven. The great dragon was hurled down—that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him." (Revelation 12:7-9). That vineyard that is also mentioned by Isaiah, we discover with with Jesus, " am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing." (John 15:5).

We defeat the Leviathan, the Dragon who is Satan (Revelation 12:9) with Blood of the Lamb, and our testimony, "And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death." (Revelation 12:11). This is our weapons against Him. Trust in Jesus' Sacrifice for our sins, that His Blood is enough, just as the old hymn goes, "What can wash away my sins? Nothing but the Blood of Jesus! What can make me whole again? Nothing but the Blood of Jesus." (Robert Lowery, 1826-1899). The Blood of Christ is a weapon, it cleanses us from all sin, "Jesus, the Christ, who is the faithful witness and the first begotten of the dead and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us and washed us from our sins with his own blood," (Revelation 1:5) and it keeps the Leviathan's fire from consuming us, and from dragging us down to the inferno (hell, the Second Death). But we must be careful, the evil fire drake, that slippery serpent of old will if it can wrap its great coils around your heart, and turn you on Jesus if he can, trying make you trample on the blood and grace, "How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?" (Hebrews 10:29). He does this easiest by seducing you into a false church like Roman Catholicism, which tramples on the blood and grace, adding to the Precious Blood of Jesus the lies that the saints and Mary and their priests can cleanse you! The other way is that the Leviathan will seek to consume your heart with fire, tribulation and suffering so hot that you will blaspheme, and turn against the Lord God, and walk out from the shelter of the Blood of Jesus. You see, Satan cannot penetrate The Blood Barrier, but if he can convince you to step out from beneath the blood soaked canopy, he can consume you.

Another way Leviathan tries to level us is by smoke, he uses the smoke of bad Christians and church hurt, to suffocate us within the Body so that we will strike out against them and in turn harden our hearts against Christ in the long run. So you see his aim of the Dragon is to make you  add to the Blood of Christ with things that have no power like penances, confession, relics, prayers to dead, and etc; he will try to consume you with the fire of tribulation, trials, and stressors, to make you doubt God's goodness, and if those methods do not work, he will smoke you out from supposed soldiers in Christ who really have become his incense bearers, choking you. You must stand firm and not let these tactics prevail and remember that Jesus and His Blood, and His Finished Work at Calvary and the Empty Tomb is enough! The Enemy is defeated, "Whoever makes a practice of sinning is of the devil, for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil." (1 John 3:8). Remember that despite the tactics of the Leviathan, "greater is He (The Lord) who is in me than who is in the world," (1 John 4:4), for the devil is the prince of this world, "I will no more speak much with you, for the prince of the world comes: and he has nothing in me/ he has no power over me." (John 14:30).

The Only way to win against Leviathan, the Dragon and Serpent is Christ. Only through Him can we have victory, as the verse goes, "But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Corinthians 15:57). There is no victory apart from Jesus or outside Him. So beware if the enemy is starting to numb you to your Lord, or even make you resentful and angry at Him, for this is a tactic to seduce you away, "But I am afraid that, even as the serpent beguiled Eve by his cunning, your minds may be corrupted and led away from the simple, sincere, and pure devotion to Christ." (2 Corinthians 11:3). Notice its the serpent in Isaiah 27, Revelation 12, Genesis 3, and here in Corinthians. He is a hard at work Leviathan, Dragon and Serpent seeking to destroy your devotion to Christ, and he will use the methods I mentioned, and others like unevenly yoked relationships, "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? What accord has Christ with Belial? Or what portion does a believer share with an unbeliever? What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, “I will make my dwelling among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you, and I will be a father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to me, says the Lord Almighty." (2 Corinthians 6:14-18). Take heed, you have in Christ all you need, and the enemy will use whatever method of sulfur or seduction, smoke or sympathy from a unbeliever to get their hooks into you in your loneliness. Stand firm (Matthew 24:13) in Jesus Christ and resist the devil, "Submit therefore to God, resist the devil and he shall flee." (James 4:7). Amen.

Israel’s Conquest of Canaan: The Nephilim and Giants

Christianity Today asserts that the conquest of Canaan can be a “stumbling block” for believers. This probably is because of a foolish idea of comparing it to a modern conquest happening in our world. The truth is that God had Israel conquer Canaan because it was ruled by evil giants, “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” (Numbers 13:33). These are Anakim or Nephilim, the children of angels and human women, “When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God (angels) saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. The...

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. According to Darb'ys doctrine of Dispensationalism, God dispenses different covenants. There are total of seven dispensations that divide the history of man: I. Dispensation of Innocence (prior to the Fall, "Do not east of the Fruit of Good and Eve, Eden), II. Dispensation of Conscience ( You must assuage guilt and sin with blood sacrifices.) III. Dispensation of Human Government (Multiply and Subdue the world, example the Tower of Babel Gen 11:1-9, and Genesis 1:28). IV. Dispensation of the Promise (Dwell in Canaan, Jerusalem) V. Dispensation of the Law ("Obey the Law of Moses and the Prophets"). VI. Dispensation of Grace (The Church, Jesus Christ has come...

Jesus’ Name in Aramaic

There has been a trend to render Jesus’ name Hebrew, יֵשׁוּעַ , Yeshua. The problem is neither Christ nor his apostles, nor the Jews in 30-33 A.D. spoke Hebrew, they spoke Aramaic. A ramaic is the oldest language on earth and was the language Jesus spoke. In fact, the oldest Old Testament is the Septuagint a Greco translation around 132 B.C.E. (165 Years Before Christ)that was translated from Aramaic. The Masoretic Text, The Hebrew Old Testament most Bibles use, dates from 7th to 10th Century A.D. (Medieval Times).  This translation does not cross reference with the words of Christ in the New Testament which are Aramaic and Koine Greek.  If the Aramaic was what Jesus spoke, then by what name would have been called? Jesus’ name in Aramaic is Isho or Eesho, spelled ܝܫܘܥ . That is the name of our Lord in Aramaic! He would have heard his name in this dialect, “Hail Isho or Eesho!” as well as the Greek, Ἰ ησο ῦ ς , Iesous.  Aramaic is disappearing, only a few peop...
