Dark Romance vs True Romance

As Christians we have a choice, a decision to make about who we will give our heart to. Will it be the Dark Seductress who appeals to our flesh, who whispers in our ear sensual things and promises to gratify our most erotic dreams? Or will it be the Saint, who appeals to our spirit, urging us to righteous actions and promises to be faithful to us. On paper the obvious choice is The Saint, for she will draw you closer to The Savior, The Eternal, and the flesh will not be utterly neglected, but you will walk in The Way. Do not underestimate the power of the flesh though, Jesus our Lord said, “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Matthew 26:41). The Seductress appeals to the senses, the dark secrets of your heart, and the shadow side you hide on Sunday, she promises delight on the dark side, though spiritually she will seduce you away from a “pure and simple devotion to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 11:3).

There is a song by the talented Scott Stapp that illustrates the two paths,

“We fly around like we were Superman

Live in another trance, a different way to dance

With dark romance, you get another chance

To do that dirty dance, without consequence.” This is the Seductress, dark romance.

The Second course is,

“So fly around like you are Superman

Given another chance - A different way to dance

With true romance, you get another chance

To tell your dirty, darkest secrets.” (Justify, The Great Divide, 2005). This is the Saint, true romance because it is based in truth, “God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth,” (Johm 4:24), “Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this purpose I was born and for this purpose I have come into the world—to bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth listens to my voice,” (John 18:37), and Jesus who is the Truth, “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6).

The clear answer is to choose the Saint, but what if you have no attraction, no eros, no pull to the Saint? What then? Are you to deny the passions that you feel that perhaps are not harmful in themselves? Will you be able to carnally be faithful to someone who though they loves Christ, you feel no draw sexually? The other can be asked too will you drink the deep wine of dark romance with a seductress and become snared emotionally to someone who seeks not first The Kingdom of Heaven  nor has any interest in Christ? Will you not grieve at judgement day when they go to hell, and you to paradise, learning why the instruction is, “Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony can there be between Christ and the devil? How can a believer be a partner with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”” (2 Corinthians 6:14-17)

The Scriptural answer is clear, but in execution, in emotions it is not. So you have to make a choice, passion and perdition, you feel randy with someone but they shall be separated at the reckoning, or peace and paradise, you feel holy with someone and they shall be with you for eternity. Now those of you who have both, passion and paradise: saint who makes you feel sensual towards them, bless you, but there is a reason there is the bad boy James Dean and the good guy who finishes last tropes. You may have to choose between a sinner or saint, and only you can decide that, but take head, chose a dark angel and your heart may turn from God and you imperil your own soul. Amen.

Israel’s Conquest of Canaan: The Nephilim and Giants

Christianity Today asserts that the conquest of Canaan can be a “stumbling block” for believers. This probably is because of a foolish idea of comparing it to a modern conquest happening in our world. The truth is that God had Israel conquer Canaan because it was ruled by evil giants, “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” (Numbers 13:33). These are Anakim or Nephilim, the children of angels and human women, “When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God (angels) saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. The...

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. According to Darb'ys doctrine of Dispensationalism, God dispenses different covenants. There are total of seven dispensations that divide the history of man: I. Dispensation of Innocence (prior to the Fall, "Do not east of the Fruit of Good and Eve, Eden), II. Dispensation of Conscience ( You must assuage guilt and sin with blood sacrifices.) III. Dispensation of Human Government (Multiply and Subdue the world, example the Tower of Babel Gen 11:1-9, and Genesis 1:28). IV. Dispensation of the Promise (Dwell in Canaan, Jerusalem) V. Dispensation of the Law ("Obey the Law of Moses and the Prophets"). VI. Dispensation of Grace (The Church, Jesus Christ has come...

Jesus’ Name in Aramaic

There has been a trend to render Jesus’ name Hebrew, יֵשׁוּעַ , Yeshua. The problem is neither Christ nor his apostles, nor the Jews in 30-33 A.D. spoke Hebrew, they spoke Aramaic. A ramaic is the oldest language on earth and was the language Jesus spoke. In fact, the oldest Old Testament is the Septuagint a Greco translation around 132 B.C.E. (165 Years Before Christ)that was translated from Aramaic. The Masoretic Text, The Hebrew Old Testament most Bibles use, dates from 7th to 10th Century A.D. (Medieval Times).  This translation does not cross reference with the words of Christ in the New Testament which are Aramaic and Koine Greek.  If the Aramaic was what Jesus spoke, then by what name would have been called? Jesus’ name in Aramaic is Isho or Eesho, spelled ܝܫܘܥ . That is the name of our Lord in Aramaic! He would have heard his name in this dialect, “Hail Isho or Eesho!” as well as the Greek, Ἰ ησο ῦ ς , Iesous.  Aramaic is disappearing, only a few peop...
