Preach The Trinity

When our Lord Jesus Christ began His ministry, The Entire Godhead, The Trinity appeared, “As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him.  And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” (Matthew 3:16-17). This is significant, that at the beginning of Christ’s Ministry God reveals Himself as One God in Three Persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. At the very beginning, before The Crucifixion and Resurrection Christ reveals to all who were baptism, that The Lord God is One yet Three Divine Persons.

In the same way Christ at the end of His earthly ministry, before ascending into heaven, again emphasizes His Triune Nature, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit” (Mathew 28:19). There is a reason that at the beginning and end of Jesus’ earthly ministry that attention is drawn to the Whole Trinity. It is not to be glossed over. We are suppose to be preaching Christ, yes, but also The Trinity that He is apart of as The Son who is One with The Father and Holy Spirit! One God in Three Distinct and Divine Persons. If we fail to understand why at the beginning and end of Christ’s ministry the Trinity is highlighted, we fail to grasp that God is drawing attention to one of the paramount doctrines we are suppose to share with unbelievers, “Baptize them in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.” (Matthew 28:19). As well as profess the Trinity in our worship! He is indeed a “Good Good Father,” (Tomerlin), “Jesus, Master, Savior, Jesus,” and “Come Holy Spirit Come! Come and fill this place.”

Teaching that our God is The Holy Trinity is crucial, because its who God is! From the very beginning He said, “Let us create man and woman in our Image.” (Genesis 1:27), and “The LORD said, They have become like One of Us, knowing Good from Evil.” (Genesis 3:22). The whole Trinity is throughout Scripture, Christ appears  in the furnace, “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God,” (Daniel 3:25, NKJV) and judges Satan, “The word of the Lord came to me: “Son of man, say to the ruler of Tyre,” (Ezekiel 28:1), the Holy Spirit gave words to prophets and kings, “Cast me not away from your presence, and take not your Holy Spirit from me,” (Palam 51:11), and the Father is mentioned by Name, “But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand” (Isaiah 64:8). The Doctrine of the Holy Trinity is Old and New Testament, not novel teaching, but one grounded in Scripture and belief from Genesis to Revelation.

It is essential who preach that our God is Three Persons of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, but One in essence, Co-Substantial, Co-Equal, and Co-Eternal, always existing and never ending. You cannot understand Jesus unless you know Him as The Son of God, “All who declare that Jesus is the Son of God have God living in them, and they live in God” (1 John 4:15), Jesus is God (Colossians 2:9, Titus 2:13, John 10:30, Hebrews 1:1-14), but His role in the Trinity is The Son.

I wanted to share a helpful video on understanding The Trinity, its only 4mins and very clear:

Amen.

Israel’s Conquest of Canaan: The Nephilim and Giants

Christianity Today asserts that the conquest of Canaan can be a “stumbling block” for believers. This probably is because of a foolish idea of comparing it to a modern conquest happening in our world. The truth is that God had Israel conquer Canaan because it was ruled by evil giants, “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” (Numbers 13:33). These are Anakim or Nephilim, the children of angels and human women, “When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God (angels) saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. The...

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. According to Darb'ys doctrine of Dispensationalism, God dispenses different covenants. There are total of seven dispensations that divide the history of man: I. Dispensation of Innocence (prior to the Fall, "Do not east of the Fruit of Good and Eve, Eden), II. Dispensation of Conscience ( You must assuage guilt and sin with blood sacrifices.) III. Dispensation of Human Government (Multiply and Subdue the world, example the Tower of Babel Gen 11:1-9, and Genesis 1:28). IV. Dispensation of the Promise (Dwell in Canaan, Jerusalem) V. Dispensation of the Law ("Obey the Law of Moses and the Prophets"). VI. Dispensation of Grace (The Church, Jesus Christ has come...

Jesus’ Name in Aramaic

There has been a trend to render Jesus’ name Hebrew, יֵשׁוּעַ , Yeshua. The problem is neither Christ nor his apostles, nor the Jews in 30-33 A.D. spoke Hebrew, they spoke Aramaic. A ramaic is the oldest language on earth and was the language Jesus spoke. In fact, the oldest Old Testament is the Septuagint a Greco translation around 132 B.C.E. (165 Years Before Christ)that was translated from Aramaic. The Masoretic Text, The Hebrew Old Testament most Bibles use, dates from 7th to 10th Century A.D. (Medieval Times).  This translation does not cross reference with the words of Christ in the New Testament which are Aramaic and Koine Greek.  If the Aramaic was what Jesus spoke, then by what name would have been called? Jesus’ name in Aramaic is Isho or Eesho, spelled ܝܫܘܥ . That is the name of our Lord in Aramaic! He would have heard his name in this dialect, “Hail Isho or Eesho!” as well as the Greek, Ἰ ησο ῦ ς , Iesous.  Aramaic is disappearing, only a few peop...
