Superstition

Superstition is a phenomenon when people revere and even fear supernatural beings and experiences. From this practices, or superstitions are created to route evil spirits and to call good spirits (angelos) to their lives. An example of superstition is the fear of the number 13 as unlucky, a black cat crossing a person's path, and there is even a excessive fear of the number of beast 666 which is called Hexakosioihexekontahexaphobia. Superstition and phobia go hand and hand. The Church sadly is not the least superstitious, but often the most superstitious. In Catholic homes a crucifix must be placed over the front inner door, and in every room, much how Jews placed Mazuzah on their front door, and Orthodox Jews place Mazuzahs on all their doors. Many deliverance ministers believe in having to do special prayers against demons, in Middle Ages, particularly in gothic period the concept of putting gargoyles to ward off demons on Cathedrals came from Chinese practice of the curling ends of roofs and dragons.

Superstition' source is fear. People encountering a demon or strange phenomenon decide to do something or put an object around their neck (a cross, crucifix, medallion of a saint) to protect them from this fear causing supernatural being. The problem is this is a fear that creates fear. First the person becomes a afraid of the spirit, then they wear amulets and icons out of fear of encounter it again or being harmed spiritually, which is fear again. Soon the person is in a bondage where they have icons and wards all around them, and they make sign of the cross, and pray profusely to keep the phantoms at bay. All of this is not only a demonic stronghold being built, but refuted in Scripture, for the Apostle Paul say,s "For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline." (2 Timothy 1:7). The spirit of fear wants a person to become superstitious so they are bound in fear, rather than operating in power (God lives in them see), love, and self control. The Apostle Paul perhaps was speaking of the superstitious when he penned these words by the Spirit, "For you did not receive a spirit of slavery that returns you to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!" (Romans 8:15). Supersition is slavery and doubting the Lord Jesus Christ! For God lives in a believer, "And Christ lives within you, so even though your body will die because of sin, the Spirit gives you life because you have been made right with God," (Romans 8:10), and "Don't you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you?" (1 Corinthians 3:16). The Creator and Savior lives in a Christian, then why do they fear? For it is written that God made everything, "Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation, for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can't see--such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him." (Colossians 1:15-16). This means the fallen ones, the evil angels and spirits were made by God who lives in you before they fell and so does not the Creator have more authority and power than the created? Does not the inventor of the computer master the computer and able to destroy it? If this does not convince you, then how about the fact that all knees should bow to Christ, "that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth," (Phillipians 2:10).

Supersition can be contagious. It can be sown by a person's own mouth, causing people to fear, this is why Scripture says, "The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit." (Psalm 18:21). Supersitious people have been overcome by fear of the devil, his demons, and dark powers. They start anointing their walls (without an urging from Holy Spirit), rocking in prayer, crossing themselves and making sign of cross, place religious relics on their walls, and even wear talismans in shape of the cross or saint. Supersitious feeds on fear, making people think they need things to protect them, when their Protector lives within them and at name of Jesus all evil must bow and submit. The apostle James said, "Submit to God, resist the devil and he shall flee." (James 4:7). There is nothing about fear the devil, erect statues and cover your walls with scriptures. Supersition's goal is to make God look less powerful, and the devil to appear omnipotent; when it is the reverse, God is omnipotent and the devil less powerful. A superstitious person doubts God's power, and supplements it with religious artifacts, items, and spell like prayers from the Book of Common Prayer (bad book), and more. Some make people superstitious without religious merchandise, and simply convince a Christina they need to do these self delvierances every day, and route demons with special prayers from special books. All of this is nonsense, and an attempt to place a Christian in further slavery (Romans 8:15).

Jesus Christ told us that He would leave us peace, not fear! Our God and Savior said, "Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid." (John 14:27). Jesus intends for every Christian to live with peace in their hearts, not terror and superstitious fear! I love the words of the Apostle Paul which read, "And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8:38-39). There is nothing that can separate us from God, and superstition can even convince a person of the lie that God will leave them or abandon them to these things they fear if they do not live a holy enough life. This is serpent of superstition, always trying to convince a Christian believer of what the Bible refutes.

Hold fast to the truth in Bible and start practicing it. The Apostle Peter urges people to refrain from superstitious anxiety, he says, "Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God [set aside self-righteous pride], so that He may exalt you [to a place of honor in His service] at the appropriate time,  casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully]." (1 Peter 5:6-7, AMP). We should be anxious for nothing, for the Alpha and Omega is on our side! There is nothing we should fear with Author of all things living in us and watching over us, truly Paul's words are right, "If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31). If superstition and fear are ruling you, there is weapon you need, and it comes from God himself, love. The Apostle John says, "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love." (1 John 4:18). This love is found only in God, "Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love." (1 John 4:8). This is why Jesus Christ who is love commanded, "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind, This is the first and greatest commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself." (Matthew 22:37-39). If you are busy loving God and receiving His love, and loving other people, you do not have time for superstition and fear. Simply no two things can occupy your heart and mind at the same time, if love is there fear has no ability to take root. For by knowing God loves you, you know He will never leave you or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5-6) and defends you. Do not be a slave of superstition, but remember you are sons and daughter of God, and that the Son of God has defeated the works of the devil, "The Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil." (1 John 3:8). Stand firm on the Scriptures, and believe them, and stop being superstitious which only breeds more slavery.

Israel’s Conquest of Canaan: The Nephilim and Giants

Christianity Today asserts that the conquest of Canaan can be a “stumbling block” for believers. This probably is because of a foolish idea of comparing it to a modern conquest happening in our world. The truth is that God had Israel conquer Canaan because it was ruled by evil giants, “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” (Numbers 13:33). These are Anakim or Nephilim, the children of angels and human women, “When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God (angels) saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These w

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. According to Darb'ys doctrine of Dispensationalism, God dispenses different covenants. There are total of seven dispensations that divide the history of man: I. Dispensation of Innocence (prior to the Fall, "Do not east of the Fruit of Good and Eve, Eden), II. Dispensation of Conscience ( You must assuage guilt and sin with blood sacrifices.) III. Dispensation of Human Government (Multiply and Subdue the world, example the Tower of Babel Gen 11:1-9, and Genesis 1:28). IV. Dispensation of the Promise (Dwell in Canaan, Jerusalem) V. Dispensation of the Law ("Obey the Law of Moses and the Prophets"). VI. Dispensation of Grace (The Church, Jesus Christ has come and died for our sins an

Jesus’ Name in Aramaic

There has been a trend to render Jesus’ name Hebrew, יֵשׁוּעַ , Yeshua. The problem is neither Christ nor his apostles, nor the Jews in 30-33 A.D. spoke Hebrew, they spoke Aramaic. A ramaic is the oldest language on earth and was the language Jesus spoke. In fact, the oldest Old Testament is the Septuagint a Greco translation around 132 B.C.E. (165 Years Before Christ)that was translated from Aramaic. The Masoretic Text, The Hebrew Old Testament most Bibles use, dates from 7th to 10th Century A.D. (Medieval Times).  This translation does not cross reference with the words of Christ in the New Testament which are Aramaic and Koine Greek.  If the Aramaic was what Jesus spoke, then by what name would have been called? Jesus’ name in Aramaic is Isho or Eesho, spelled ܝܫܘܥ . That is the name of our Lord in Aramaic! He would have heard his name in this dialect, “Hail Isho or Eesho!” as well as the Greek, Ἰ ησο ῦ ς , Iesous.  Aramaic is disappearing, only a few people are endeavo
