The Importance of the Blood

Throughout history The Lord God has used blood to cleanse, protect, and make covenant. The first time we see this is when The Almighty makes His covenant with Abraham via the sacrifices of blood offerings, “But he said, “O Lord GOD, how am I to know that I shall possess it?”  He said to him, “Bring me a heifer three years old, a female goat three years old, a ram three years old, a turtledove, and a young pigeon.” And he brought him all these, cut them in half, and laid each half over against the other. But he did not cut the birds in half. And when birds of prey came down on the carcasses, Abram drove them away.” (Genesis 15:8-11). The next time we see blood is when Aaron places his staff in the Nile waters, “Thus says the Lord, “By this you shall know that I am the Lord: behold, with the staff that is in my hand I will strike the water that is in the Nile, and it shall turn into blood. The fish in the Nile shall die, and the Nile will stink, and the Egyptians will grow weary of drinking water from the Nile.”’” And the Lord said to Moses, “Say to Aaron, ‘Take your staff and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt, over their rivers, their canals, and their ponds, and all their pools of water, so that they may become blood, and there shall be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, even in vessels of wood and in vessels of stone.’”

Moses and Aaron did as the Lord commanded. In the sight of Pharaoh and in the sight of his servants he lifted up the staff and struck the water in the Nile, and all the water in the Nile turned into blood. And the fish in the Nile died, and the Nile stank, so that the Egyptians could not drink water from the Nile. There was blood throughout all the land of Egypt.” (Exodus 7:17-21), notice The Lord says that you will know its The Lord by this miracle of blood, and Jesus is the Lord and its but his miraculous blood we are Sons of God! Thus proving Jesus is the Lord! Another interesting connection is Jesus ends up lives near the Nile in Egypt for most of His youth, “Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him.” When he arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night and departed for Egypt, and was there until the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, “Out of Egypt I called My Son,” (Mathew 2:13-15), so this Nile running red fortold that the Lamb of God would come to Egypt. The next major blood moment is when The Angel of Death is to come and slay all the firstborn in Egypt. The Lord tells the Israelites to smear lamb’s blood on their doorposts to protect them, “They are to take some of the blood and put it on the sides and tops of the doorframes of the houses where they eat the lambs,” (Exodus 12:7), and “The blood on the doorposts will be a sign to mark the houses in which you live. When I see the blood, I will pass over you and will not harm you when I punish the Egyptians.” (Exodus 12:13). This ties into Jesus, for He is The Lamb of God, “The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29), He is the Door, “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture,”(John 10:9), and He tasted death for all of us, “What we do see is Jesus, who for a little while was given a position “a little lower than the angels”; and because he suffered death for us, he is now “crowned with glory and honor.” Yes, by God’s grace, Jesus tasted death for everyone.” (Hebrews 2:9); just as death passed over the Israelites, eternal death passes us because of the blood of Jesus, The Lamb of God. We see connections, Lamb’s blood on the doorposts to stop death, and the Lamb of God Who is the Door to eternal life stops eternal death by His Blood.

The next major moment of blood is in The Wilderness when Moses sprinkles the blood of the sacrifice on the people and eats with God, “And Moses took half of the blood and put it in basins, and half of the blood he threw against the altar. Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it in the hearing of the people. And they said, “All that the LORD has spoken we will do, and we will be obedient.” And Moses took the blood and threw it on the people and said, “Behold the blood of the covenant that the LORD has made with you in accordance with all these words.”

Then Moses and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel went up, and they saw the God of Israel. There was under his feet as it were a pavement of sapphire stone, like the very heaven for clearness. And he did not lay his hand on the chief men of the people of Israel; they beheld God, and ate and drank with God.” (Exodus 24:6-11), this is significant for Jesus who is God eats with His disciples and says as he passes the wine, “When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles reclined at the table. And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer.” In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.” (Luke 22:14-15, 20). Its important this is the Passover meal which celebrates that death passed over the blood stained door posts, and that here Jesus is making The New Covenant that will be fully established when He pours out His blood and life on the cross at calvary. Which segues us into next major blood moment is Jesus on the cross, His blood pouring out, “Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus’ side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water.” (John 19:34). That blood cleanses us of all sin for all time, “And through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross,” (Colossians 1:20), “Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!,” (Romans 5:9), “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin,” (1 John 1:7), “In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,” (Ephesians 1:7), “Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood,” (Acts 20:28), “But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ,” (Ephesians 2:13), “Knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot,” (1 Peter 1:18-19), “So Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through his own blood,” (Hebrews 13:12), and,

“from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by his blood, and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and power for ever and ever! Amen.” (Revelation 1:5-6). Our Lord makes the ultimate blood sacrifice, the Blood of God and Man. He doesn’t offer himself over and over as the old lambs, but on once for all, “For Christ has entered, not into holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf. Nor was it to offer himself repeatedly, as the high priest enters the holy places every year with blood not his own, for then he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world. But as it is, he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. [27] And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment,  so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.” (Hebrews 9:24-28)

It is a better covenant, “Now, however, Jesus has received a much more excellent ministry, just as the covenant He mediates is better and is founded on better promises,” (Hebrews 8:6), and it is an eternal covenant, “Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant,” (Hebrews 13:20).

Finally we are told that in the last days as we face the Beast that it is the Blood of Jesus that shall protect us from Satan, “And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God. And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.” (Revelation 12:10-11).

It is clear that throughout the Old and New Testaments, God used blood to cleanse, protect, and make covenant. There is something supernatural about it, “Indeed, under the law almost everything is purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins,” (Hebrews 9:22), and we are blessed to be covered by the greatest and most important blood of all, The Only Blood now needed (Jesus’ Blood is All Sufficient and All We Need), The Blood of the Son of God, the Blood of Jesus! The blood marks us as His, that we are forgiven of all sins, that we may enter the holiest place in heaven by His blood, “Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus.” (Hebrews 10:19). The Blood is our covering, as Jesus Himself is our covering, cloaking us red and making us white as snow (Isaiah 1:8). We have been so blessed to be under the better covenant in His blood!  That eternal life and immortality is secure for us in Jesus and by His blood! That we need not fear death because we are in the Lamb’s Book of Life, “But nothing unclean will ever enter it [New Jerusalem, New Heaven and Earth], nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life.” (Revelation 21:27)!

I invite you to be written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. To have the eternal blood of Christ wash you of sin, and grant you the rights of heaven and life everlasting. Say thus prayer:

“Lord Jesus Christ, I have sinned, I repent of my sins and ask you God Incarnate, Son of God, and Savior to cleanse me with your blood and sacrifice you completed at the cross. I believe in you Jesus, I confess you as Lord God, I trust in you alone to save me, In The Name of The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, Amen.” Welcome to the family of God, you are now a Son and Heir of Christ! I suggest you get a Bible, I recommend NASB 1977, NLT, NIV, and NKJV. Read John/ The Gospel of John, which is after Luke. Then read Colossians, Galatians, Philippians, Ephesians, 1 Corinthians and 2 Corinthians, and then the rest of the Scriptures. Focus your study on The New Testament, Matthew to Revelation, and once it is deeply in your soul and anchored, you can venture into The Old Testament. Amen.

Israel’s Conquest of Canaan: The Nephilim and Giants

Christianity Today asserts that the conquest of Canaan can be a “stumbling block” for believers. This probably is because of a foolish idea of comparing it to a modern conquest happening in our world. The truth is that God had Israel conquer Canaan because it was ruled by evil giants, “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” (Numbers 13:33). These are Anakim or Nephilim, the children of angels and human women, “When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God (angels) saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These w

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. According to Darb'ys doctrine of Dispensationalism, God dispenses different covenants. There are total of seven dispensations that divide the history of man: I. Dispensation of Innocence (prior to the Fall, "Do not east of the Fruit of Good and Eve, Eden), II. Dispensation of Conscience ( You must assuage guilt and sin with blood sacrifices.) III. Dispensation of Human Government (Multiply and Subdue the world, example the Tower of Babel Gen 11:1-9, and Genesis 1:28). IV. Dispensation of the Promise (Dwell in Canaan, Jerusalem) V. Dispensation of the Law ("Obey the Law of Moses and the Prophets"). VI. Dispensation of Grace (The Church, Jesus Christ has come and died for our sins an

Jesus’ Name in Aramaic

There has been a trend to render Jesus’ name Hebrew, יֵשׁוּעַ , Yeshua. The problem is neither Christ nor his apostles, nor the Jews in 30-33 A.D. spoke Hebrew, they spoke Aramaic. A ramaic is the oldest language on earth and was the language Jesus spoke. In fact, the oldest Old Testament is the Septuagint a Greco translation around 132 B.C.E. (165 Years Before Christ)that was translated from Aramaic. The Masoretic Text, The Hebrew Old Testament most Bibles use, dates from 7th to 10th Century A.D. (Medieval Times).  This translation does not cross reference with the words of Christ in the New Testament which are Aramaic and Koine Greek.  If the Aramaic was what Jesus spoke, then by what name would have been called? Jesus’ name in Aramaic is Isho or Eesho, spelled ܝܫܘܥ . That is the name of our Lord in Aramaic! He would have heard his name in this dialect, “Hail Isho or Eesho!” as well as the Greek, Ἰ ησο ῦ ς , Iesous.  Aramaic is disappearing, only a few people are endeavo
