Being

So many brothers and sisters in Christ estimate their worth in what they can do for God. They value themselves if they are good ministers, parents, children, employees, employers, and stewards of their finances. Whole none of these things are bad, we all want to achieve some progress; but estimating our worth on these things is sheer folly. At some point you won’t be able to minster in the way you are acxustomed, you will find your parental days challenged and then sidelined, as a child you will fail your parents, as an employee you will lose zeal, as an employer reach an unsurmountable obstacle, and finally debt will rattle your financial stewardship. Gaging our worth on transient and even shifting paradigms is a recipe for disaster.

Our true worth is contained in our species name, Human Being. Being, or to be, that is our value. Your existence, not your exploits or experience is what matter.  You were designed by God the Trinity to Be; your existence and life brings God and others joy, you were never meant to have your worth estimated bu accolades, works, or intellect, but by being. Even God’s oldest name shows us, “I AM that I AM, say to the Children of Israel that I AM has sent you.” (Exodus 3:14). God’s oldest name is I AM, which goes with our Being; for the I AM who is Christ (John 8:24, John 4:26) made us and created us with Father and Spirit. Even when we Chrisfians become a follower of Jesus it is believe which contains be/ lieve, we believe in the I AM and are his beings, in fact, “For in Him we live and move and have our being.' As some of your own poets have said, 'We are his offspring.” (Acts 12:28).

Our Lord Jesus values you for who you are and that you draw breath! He bled on a cross so that you could continue to keep being for all eternity, and just as important, be with Him! (John 14:3). Your value and worth is you and your existence, not what you do! Do not let devil make you believe you are a human doing that is made valuable and precious by merit and works; but rather believe God who says He ao loved you that He died for you when you were His enemy, “but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.” (Romans 5:8-11).

Of course your gifts, skills, passions, and interests matter to God; they are part of who you are. But your value is not defined by them or what you can do, for you are precious to God who poured out His life to rescue you from sin and the Second Death!

May you accept that nothing you do can make you more valuable to God; you already are priceless, so much so that God took on human flesh and died for us:
You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.
Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to.
Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being.
When he appeared in human form,
he humbled himself in obedience to God
and died a criminal’s death on a cross.
Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor
and gave him the name above all other names,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11 and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2). Christ marginalized himself to secure pur eternity because he doesn’t want to be without us n heaven. Us existing matter so much to our Lord, He died a excruciating death and rose from the dead. We are valuable enough to die for! Amen.

Israel’s Conquest of Canaan: The Nephilim and Giants

Christianity Today asserts that the conquest of Canaan can be a “stumbling block” for believers. This probably is because of a foolish idea of comparing it to a modern conquest happening in our world. The truth is that God had Israel conquer Canaan because it was ruled by evil giants, “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” (Numbers 13:33). These are Anakim or Nephilim, the children of angels and human women, “When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God (angels) saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. The...

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. According to Darb'ys doctrine of Dispensationalism, God dispenses different covenants. There are total of seven dispensations that divide the history of man: I. Dispensation of Innocence (prior to the Fall, "Do not east of the Fruit of Good and Eve, Eden), II. Dispensation of Conscience ( You must assuage guilt and sin with blood sacrifices.) III. Dispensation of Human Government (Multiply and Subdue the world, example the Tower of Babel Gen 11:1-9, and Genesis 1:28). IV. Dispensation of the Promise (Dwell in Canaan, Jerusalem) V. Dispensation of the Law ("Obey the Law of Moses and the Prophets"). VI. Dispensation of Grace (The Church, Jesus Christ has come...

Jesus’ Name in Aramaic

There has been a trend to render Jesus’ name Hebrew, יֵשׁוּעַ , Yeshua. The problem is neither Christ nor his apostles, nor the Jews in 30-33 A.D. spoke Hebrew, they spoke Aramaic. A ramaic is the oldest language on earth and was the language Jesus spoke. In fact, the oldest Old Testament is the Septuagint a Greco translation around 132 B.C.E. (165 Years Before Christ)that was translated from Aramaic. The Masoretic Text, The Hebrew Old Testament most Bibles use, dates from 7th to 10th Century A.D. (Medieval Times).  This translation does not cross reference with the words of Christ in the New Testament which are Aramaic and Koine Greek.  If the Aramaic was what Jesus spoke, then by what name would have been called? Jesus’ name in Aramaic is Isho or Eesho, spelled ܝܫܘܥ . That is the name of our Lord in Aramaic! He would have heard his name in this dialect, “Hail Isho or Eesho!” as well as the Greek, Ἰ ησο ῦ ς , Iesous.  Aramaic is disappearing, only a few peop...
