The Truth Time of Year

This time of year centers on the Truth, that Jesus Christ is “The Way, the Truth, and the Life, none may come to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6). Christmas often gets very general about our God and Savior. People love to sing about “Away in Manger..” but if we were to tell them, that the baby grew up and eternal life is only by believing in Him, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.” (John 3:16-18), the carols may stop playing on the radio. Everyone is content if we act pluralistic and keep what we Christians believe in a vague place, but as soon as you say “let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by him this man is standing before you well, let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by him this man is standing before you well. There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved," (Acts 4:10-12), prepare for persecution.

I am tired of lukewarm  words like “Thank God,” or “God bless you.” Which god? If you say these statements there is no reprisals or protestation.  Any unsaved person can insert their diety in the place of the gerneralized god. We ahould be saying “Thank you Jesus,” and “Christ Jesus bless you!” For it is Jesus that is the name above all names, “Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor, and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:9-11).  The generics need to end! It is time to be bold and declare our Lord Jesus before men as He said to, “Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father in heaven,  But everyone who denies me here on earth before men, I will also deny before my Father in heaven.” (Matthew 10:31-33).

The Truth is that Jesus Christ is the Only Way to heaven and eternal life (John 3:16-18) and the only way  to the Father (John 14:6). The truth is Jesus is God (2 Peter 1:1, Colossians 2:9) and Son of God (1 John 4:15) who is One with the Father (John 10:30, John 10:9-11) and the Holy Spirit proceeds from both Father and Son (John 14:26, John 15:26, John 20:20-22): One God in Three Persons, blessed Trinity (Matthew 28:19, Genesis 18:1-15). We should be trumpeting the Truth, especially during the holiday season. We should not conform and close our witness, but instead speak the Truth who is Jesus Christ (John 1:17, John 14:6)! Amen.

Israel’s Conquest of Canaan: The Nephilim and Giants

Christianity Today asserts that the conquest of Canaan can be a “stumbling block” for believers. This probably is because of a foolish idea of comparing it to a modern conquest happening in our world. The truth is that God had Israel conquer Canaan because it was ruled by evil giants, “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” (Numbers 13:33). These are Anakim or Nephilim, the children of angels and human women, “When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God (angels) saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. The...

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. According to Darb'ys doctrine of Dispensationalism, God dispenses different covenants. There are total of seven dispensations that divide the history of man: I. Dispensation of Innocence (prior to the Fall, "Do not east of the Fruit of Good and Eve, Eden), II. Dispensation of Conscience ( You must assuage guilt and sin with blood sacrifices.) III. Dispensation of Human Government (Multiply and Subdue the world, example the Tower of Babel Gen 11:1-9, and Genesis 1:28). IV. Dispensation of the Promise (Dwell in Canaan, Jerusalem) V. Dispensation of the Law ("Obey the Law of Moses and the Prophets"). VI. Dispensation of Grace (The Church, Jesus Christ has come...

Jesus’ Name in Aramaic

There has been a trend to render Jesus’ name Hebrew, יֵשׁוּעַ , Yeshua. The problem is neither Christ nor his apostles, nor the Jews in 30-33 A.D. spoke Hebrew, they spoke Aramaic. A ramaic is the oldest language on earth and was the language Jesus spoke. In fact, the oldest Old Testament is the Septuagint a Greco translation around 132 B.C.E. (165 Years Before Christ)that was translated from Aramaic. The Masoretic Text, The Hebrew Old Testament most Bibles use, dates from 7th to 10th Century A.D. (Medieval Times).  This translation does not cross reference with the words of Christ in the New Testament which are Aramaic and Koine Greek.  If the Aramaic was what Jesus spoke, then by what name would have been called? Jesus’ name in Aramaic is Isho or Eesho, spelled ܝܫܘܥ . That is the name of our Lord in Aramaic! He would have heard his name in this dialect, “Hail Isho or Eesho!” as well as the Greek, Ἰ ησο ῦ ς , Iesous.  Aramaic is disappearing, only a few peop...
