There are on many forums, blogs, and Christian sites infiltrators, Satanists and others who pretend to be Christian so they may cause the Saints confusion, chaos, and destroy them if possible. Their goal is to imitate their father the devil, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy..." (John 10:10) and "Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings." (1 Peter 5:8-9). These infiltrators are the wolves in sheep clothing, "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves." (Matthew 7:15), just as there will be major false prophet wish Antichrist (Revelation 13) and the Pharises themselves, the religious elite were wolves and antichrists (Matthew 23, whole chapter).
The goal of these infiltrators is to steal the peace and hope of Christians through their statements and twisting of scripture, to kill you joy in Christ and first Love (Revelation 2:4-5), and to ultimately destroy a person's faith in the Lord, and if not that at least shake their trust in the Church (make them bitter) and destroy their love for brothers in Christ (1 John 3:10). They often cause Christian brothers to bite and devour one another, "If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other. So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives (walk by the Spirit). Then you won't be doing what your sinful nature craves." (Galatians 5:15-16).
How do you tell their are infiltrators, there are several ways to discern. Firstly, is what they are saying edifying, building up the body of Christ, and rebuking so as to restore people to Truth (1 Timothy 3:16-17), or is it only causing contention, confusion, chaos, and even accusation, making brothers fight. This is telltale sign, if everything they do is twisting Scripture, destroying trust in Christ alone (Acts 4:10-12), and making people angry with fellow believers. The fruit of infiltrators, what they sow is fear, anger, and hate (bitterness, bigotry), when we are told to, "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." (2 Timothy 1:7). If a person is robbing you of sound mind (2 Corinthians 10:5), power in Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:4, Ephesians 1:19-21), and God's love (1 John 4:8, John 3:16, Romans 5:8) then they are probably an infiltrator.
The best way aside from judging a tree by its fruit, "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves. 16 You will recognize them by their fruits. Are grapes gathered from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? 17 So, every healthy tree bears good fruit, but the diseased tree bears bad fruit. 18 A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a diseased tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus you will recognize them by their fruits," (Matthew 7:15-20), is to operate in the Holy Spirit gift of discernment, "and to another discernment of spirits [the ability to distinguish the spirit in a person, to sense demonic spirits, to distinguish sound, godly doctrine from the deceptive doctrine of man-made religions and cults]," (1 Corinthians 12:10 AMP), and to test the spirits, "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how we know if they have the Spirit of God: If a person claiming to be a prophet acknowledges that Jesus Christ came in a real body, that person has the Spirit of God. But if someone claims to be a prophet and does not acknowledge the truth about Jesus, that person is not from God. Such a person has the spirit of the Antichrist, which you heard is coming into the world and indeed is already here," (1 John 4;1-3), and the way to tell a Satanist in disguise is this, "Little children, let no one deceive you: The one who practices righteousness is righteous, just as Christ is righteous. But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil. Those who have been born into God's family do not make a practice of sinning, because God's life is in them. So they can't keep on sinning, because they are children of God. By this it is evident who are the children of God, and who are the children of the devil: whoever does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor is the one who does not love his brother." (1 John 3:7-10).
I am not trying to stir up fear. I am saying what Jesus said "there will be wolves in sheep's clothing," and here are some of the ways to detect them. Examine their fruit, examine their words (do they edify or caste doubt on Truths or twist doctrines, or make you feel abused verbally), and ask the Holy Spirit for acute discernment. We as Christians would never dream of infiltrating, but our enemies will do it. Some will even spend lengthy amounts of time trying to convince people they are genuine, but the seed they sow I sour and serves only to cause the Saints serious spiritual and emotional harm.
If you are familiar with the Terminator films (I do not recommend them), there is model of
Terminator that looks human, this is called a Infiltrator and they try to sneak behind the Resistance's lines and kill people. This is exactly what the spiritual infiltrators do who are on devil's side.
