There is famous song that goes, "be careful little eyes what you see, be careful little eyes what you see, for your Father whose Heaven watches you from above, Be careful little eyes what you see." We are not as careful or cautious about what we behold with our eyes. The world convinces us that it won't harm you to watch a horror movie or to look upon pornographic scenes. But the truth is the opposite. Jesus says, "The eye is the lamp and if your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then then the light that is in you is darkness, how great the darkness." (Matthew 6:22-24). King David supports the Savior, "Turn my eyes from worthless things, and give me life through your word," (Psalm 118:37), and " will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar. I hate all who deal crookedly; I will have nothing to do with them," (Psalm 101:3). Jesus our God is a Son of David (Matthew 1:1), and we see the LORD spoke through David and then through Himself, warning us to not look upon evil things.
There is a warning in these verses. What occupies are eyes will have an effect on your soul. Like the ears, the Eye takes in things and those things go directly to the deep recesses of our minds. That is why an image can pop out in our minds after many years or after careful attempts to purge it. The reason I am so adamant about this is when I was child I watched horror movies. At the time I thought it was exciting and cool to watch the following films: Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, Alien Resurrection, Alien vs. Predator, Alien vs. Predator Requiem, Predator, Predator 2, Predators, Tremors, Tremors 2: Aftershocks, Tremors 3: Back to Perfection, Tremors 4. When I first behold those abominable films I was filled with terror, fear, and my imagination was haunted with the creatures in these films. I could not sleep. Then later this moved from fear to fascination. I began watching the horror films like they were normal and had posters on my wall and even the outfit of the Predator. What had happened was my eye, my lamp had been filled with darkness and it began to darkened the light inside me like Matthew 6! That check in my spirit, that nausea, repulsive feeling, and disturbed feeling left when I choose to ignore it and keep watching those kinds of films. It took one night at a movie theater, when watching one of these horror films to wake me up and help me realize I was involved in something morose, morbid, and malevolent. There is a scene that I wish not to describe in detail, but suffice to say it included innocents and in that moment I realized how evil this whole horror genre and series of films was.
I removed everything to do with these movies from my life and renounced them. But here is the catch, on occasion the memories return. What I saw in those films is buried and Jesus Christ in his mercy is removing the images, but they take a long time to remove. It took a second to see them, but it may take lifetime to remove them. This is not to cause despair, but it is to caution us to be careful what our eyes see. Job said, "I have made covenant with my eyes to not look lustfully at a young woman." (Job 31:1), and Jesus said, "But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart." (Matthew 5:28). We should have this attitude about other things as well. Those horror films are just as evil as pornography; they are different kind of lust, bloodlust and morbidity. In fact, if you peel the onion of Predator you find Rastafarianism, which pagan Jamaican belief mixed with Samurai Bushido and Harry-Kerry. In Alien it is succubus and incubus spirit mixed with a spirit of death and blood craft. These are serious anti-Christ beliefs and demonic powers on top of horror and gore entertainment. These movies not only pollute our eyes, but our minds, for they linger much longer in our memories. The Apostle Paul says, "Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things." (Philippians 4:8) and "We tear down arguments, and every presumption set up against the knowledge of God; and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." (2 Corinthians 10:5). The thoughts and feelings horror movies provoke is nihilism and morbid fear of death, when we are told by Jesus Christ that there is no more death in Him, "Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die." (John 11:26), and "What we do see is Jesus, who was given a position "a little lower than the angels"; and because he suffered death for us, he is now "crowned with glory and honor." Yes, by God's grace, Jesus tasted death for everyone." (Hebrews 2:9). Films like Alien and Predator thrive on death, the idea that death is absolute (Nihilism) and we Christians no this is not true, but rather to die is gain and to be with Jesus in Heaven (2 Corinthians 5:8). This is why horror films are destructive, and invoke bad thoughts, they try to implant wrongful ideas in our minds through images. This is why we must obey the words of Scripture, and pay no heed to these things on the big screen, and turn our eyes, and minds away from the lies Directors and actors have created in the horror and porn genres. Instead of watching death, we should but these movies to death, "Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry." (Colossians 3:5).
You should really guard your children. Let there little eyes be filled with Godly things. Granted you can't be gestapo and regulate them at their friends who may want to fill their souls with evil; but you can model that it is morbid and has not place in your home. These days parents don't take enough of an interest in what their children are involved in. One reason is time, parents are busy with work and other tasks, and second is laziness, not investigating what their children are involved in when they are rested and have free time. For some reason parents have time to be on facebook, twitter, and Netflix, but no enough time to research what there son or daughter brought in the home?
The Eye is the lamp to the body and we must remember "our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit." (1 Corinthians 6:19), and "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God--this is your true and proper worship." (Romans 12:1). We should not defile it with darkness in all its forms. Choose today to put away things that draw you away from the divine and have you looking upon devils! For horror has no place with what is holy, just as light and darkness cannot be mixed; one will prevail over the other. Choose today to turn off that which is unseemly, unsavory, and unholy. Choose to fill your mind with Christ, His Word, edifying films, and things that increase God's light in your soul and that route the darkness. As Jesus Christ to purge, remove, uproot, and repel all the evil you beheld; He will do it! Stay away from where you might behold it again and thus trigger the images once more.

I personally think horror movies are made by people in the Occult. The images bother almost everyone because they are from the pit of hell.
