Ridley Scott has become the titular director of the epic. His films cover a broad scope of history, from Roman Empire to the Crusades and to Outerspace. Despite his filming techniques which provide the most beautiful cinenmatopgraphy, everything about his films are antichrist. In Gladiator (2000), Maximus Desperius Marellus (Russell Crowe) is a Roman Pagan and his religion is romanticized as he kisses idols of his family members, and scenes of Roman afterlife are depicted. In stark contrast, Kingdom of Heaven (2005), which is set in Middle Ages depicts Christians in an unflattering light. The opening of film features a priest who commands a dead woman (the protagonist's wife)'s head to be cut off because she commited sucide. The same priest spits venom and vitriol towards Balian (protagonist), who to silence the priest burns him alive. From there we meet war worn crusaders who believe the kingdom of heaven is a utopian society where Crusaders and Mujahideen can live in peace. Balian at one point in film falls into nihilism, "God does not speak to me, not even where Christ was crucified. I am beyond God's grace, it seems I have lost my religion." To this quip, the 'noble' Hospitaller says, "In name of religion I have seen fantacism from every denomitation. What God desires is here (points to head) and here (heart), and that every day you choose to be good man or not." This is pluralism and brotherhood of man, that people can be good independent of God, which is not true for as Jesus said, "Only God is Good." (Mark10:18). Then we have Guy de Lusignan and Reynald de Chatallion who are blood thistry Templars (the Templars are demonized as war mongers by Ridley Scott, when historically they protected Christians, Jews, and Muslims on the pilgrim roads) who rape, pillage, murder in name of Christ. There is Tiberius (played by Jeremey Irons) who seeks to a peace loving Christian, but he later says, "God go with you, he is no longer with me." What about Baldwin IV the Leper King? Was not he a postiive image of Christianity in the film? Nay, if you watch the director's cut you get a sense he is involved in incest relations with Sibylla! Kingdom of Heaven is filled with digs at Chrsitainity and lines that profain Christ's image; the only exceptions are, "So they die for what Pope would command them to do? Yes, but not Christ I think," and "Their prophets (Islam) say submit, Jesus says decide, (although this is tainted by Balain saying, "did you decide on Guy?". And yet in Robin Hood (2010) the pagan communist life of the Merry Men is preferred and touted as glorious, while the church is seen as power hungry, corrupt, and without compassion. Ridley Scott seems to have forgot that it eas Church that got Western Civilization through the Middle Ages, and in fact birthed Western Civilization. But Scott is always in favor of the pagans or Muslims in his movies.
Ridley Scott riducles and commits sacrelige against Christianity. He does not treat all religions equally, if he had contempt for all organized religion, then I would have nothing to say, he would simply be the atypical atheist humanist liberal director. Instead, Scott picks on the Saints exclusively, casting only the most terrible light on the Church, while having compassion for the Crescent and Heathen's beliefs. Between his blantant hatred of Christianity, Scott has a bloodlust problem. Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven, and Robinhood sport major carnage and death tolls in great detail. But this should not surprise, since this is same man who gave the world the most morose, morbid, and marcabian film in science fiction history, Alien (1979). It should be warning to us a beleivers that this master of pseudo-history and epics, made a name for himself via the most disgusting and devilish outerspace horror film (Alien) to even be featured on the big screen. The sexual perversions of the Alien franchise trickle into Scott's epics, which feature love between man and woman not in santicity of marriage, but out of wedlock. Balian has an affair with Sybella who is married, and Robin Longstride hooks up with widower named Marian and never marries her; but lives in hippy communist setting of the Sherwood Forest in cohabitation.
Scott's 'masterpieces' of antichristian sentiment are Kingdom of Heaven and Robin Hood. Kingdom of Heaven features univeralist messages like, "Who has claim? Which is holier, the Wall, the Mosque, the Supluchre? None have claim, all have claim!" Then it deviates into demonization of Christians by depicting them as savages, while it makes the Saracens like Saladin appear to be regal, dignified, and tenderhearted; this no doubt probably was influenced by the fact Ridley Scott's son is devout Muslim. Then in Robin Hood you not only have mean priests, but death scenes in the chapel, with Friar Tuck using bees to bring down belligerants inside the sanctuary. Friar Tuck, the Mead drinking drunkard who confesses, "If I wasn't the village priest, I would be village drunkard," is the only cleric Scott shines a positive light on, but observe Friar Tuck and you will discover he is not a titan of Christian virtue. Scott depicts the Christian Normans in Robin Hood as cruel, particularly making Richard The Lionheart look like buffoon in the beginning, and emplifying the corruption of the Norman Church. The protagonist, Robin Longstride (Russell Crowe) is a Saxon, as are many of Baron and Sir Walter Loxely and Marian Loxely. Little bit of history, the Saxons were the only people who would not accept Christianity without allowing their paganisms and other gods to be grandfathered in! So once again, like in Gladiator, the pagans are seen as positive, even Sir Walter Loxely getting this beautiful pagan cremation, while Robin gives Sir Robert Loxely a Christian burial that is less beautiful and his words seem forced and full of depressing tones, "Commit this soul to your keeping O Lord, and we ask that if he arrives at pearly gates, that you let him in." Robin like Balain de Ibelin in Kingdom of Heaven behaves like nihilist and secular humanist and in my opinion is embodiment of Ridley Scott if he lived in those times.
There are some that praise Scott's The Martian (2015), but where the only kindling to help the protagonist (Matt Damon) survive is a Crucifix, which Matt Damon says, "I know you won't have any problem with this," as if to be respectful, but can we really trust Ridley is finally being fair towards the Church? It is more likely a Nihilist statement since Damon is never seen to be religious in the film. Other cite that Scott was fair to some of crusaders like Tiberius, the Hospitaller, and even Friar Tuck, but there is always the overtone of irreligion. Balian ends his crusade with, "If this is the Kingdom of Heaven, let God do with it as he wills," but this is after the Patriarch (priest) says, "convert to Islam, repent later." Robin Hood makes devotions to Fate and Fortune, whom he says, "I will not turn my back on her," while being sacrilegious with Friar Tuck after stealing church grain, Tuck says, "plant the seed and when it spouts, I will call it a miracle, the Church in Yoke will never deny a miracle," making subtle jab that the church would rather maintain control through miracles (even forged ones, which did happen) but Scott never shows true pious priests and men like St. Francis of Assisi to counterbalance any corrupt clergymen. Scott plants seeds of antichrist throughout his films, and any boon he gives to believers is swallowed up sacrilegious statements and attitudes that pervade most of the motion pictures.
I highly recommend you avoid every film by Ridley Scott, who not only creates antichrist films, but rancorous and morose images that require great aid from Holy Spirit to remove from your mind. Scott is antichrist, who has publicly spoken against religion collectively and does so specifically against Christianity in his own films, he thus is whom the Apostle John condemns, "Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist--denying the Father and the Son," (1 John 2:22), and "I say this because many deceivers, who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh, have gone out into the world. Any such person is the deceiver and the antichrist." (2 John 1:7). Ridley Scott is deceiver, who uses his cinematography, top casting, and cuts of film to cut at the One True Faith. He shall be judged if he does not repent and turn to Jesus Christ.
