Dark Romance vs True Romance

As Christians we have a choice, a decision to make about who we will give our heart to. Will it be the Dark Seductress who appeals to our flesh, who whispers in our ear sensual things and promises to gratify our most erotic dreams? Or will it be the Saint, who appeals to our spirit, urging us to righteous actions and promises to be faithful to us. On paper the obvious choice is The Saint, for she will draw you closer to The Savior, The Eternal, and the flesh will not be utterly neglected, but you will walk in The Way. Do not underestimate the power of the flesh though, Jesus our Lord said, “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.” (Matthew 26:41). The Seductress appeals to the senses, the dark secrets of your heart, and the shadow side you hide on Sunday, she promises delight on the dark side, though spiritually she will seduce you away from a “pure and simple devotion to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 11:3).  There is...

The Sound of the Reformation

Mendelssohn: Symphony No. 5 in D major/D minor, Op. 107 "Reformation" (with Score) Mendelssohn  composed “The Reformation in D Major/Minor,” which is the very sound of the Reformation. It has chipper and happy sound, conveying that the chains of Roman Catholicism and all its indulgences, regulations, man made traditions, extortions, and lies have been cut asunder and instead we are free in the field of the Lord! No longer oppressed by the traditions of mere men who pose as priests in the Roman Church, “And he said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written, “‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me; in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men.” And he said to them, “Thus making void the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And many such things you do,” (Mark 7:13),  “You have a fine way of rejecti...

Memorial Day Supported By Scripture

It is important to remember the sacrifice of our armed forces, no matter what nation we are. Quaker sensibilities towards pacifism eschews that Christians are called to fight. Jesus when asked by a retinue of Roman soldiers what they should do, He did not say quit the service, “Then some soldiers asked him, “And what should we do?” He replied, “Don’t extort money and don’t accuse people falsely—be content with your pay.” (Luke 3:14). Jesus exhorted those soldiers to be holy soldiers, that is walk in righteousness, He did not tell them go become pacifists. In fact Jesus even told his disciples to arm themselves, “He said to them, “But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don’t have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.” (Luke 22:36). So for those advocating removing the right to bear arms, Jesus is not with you.  It was a soldier, a Roman Centurion that Jesus commended as having the greatest faith He had seen, “ The Faith of the Centurion When Jesus ha...

Pagans Are Wrong, Christians Are Right

The Song of Roland declares “Paien unt tort e crestiens unt driets: Pagans are wrong, Christians are right.” This is true, we have the gospel, the good news, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned (judged) already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.” (John 3:16-18). The verse 18    of John Chapter Three is the state pagans are in, “those who refuse to believe in son are judged already.” So the pagans are wrong. They are trying to seduce people these days with tarot, yoga, psychics, crystals, pagan prayer ropes, and more. There aim is to seduce you from pure devotion to Jesus, “But I am afraid, lest as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds shou...

How Medieval Faith Differed from Reformed Faith

The Medieval World was vastly different from ours in terms of how people operated in their faith. For the Medieval Person there was a duality of the public display of piety and their private lives. What mattered is what your swore to God and to his representatives in public wither it was taking the cross for the crusade, being whipped as King Henry II did for Thomas Beckett, vowing to become a Monk as Martin Luther did, and operating in public displays of giving alms, building churches, making promises to protect Mother Church, and so forth. The clinging to doctrine and texts was more fluid, yes they agreed on Filioque Nicene Creed, but there was a lot of cults, the Cult of Virgin Mary, The Sacred Cross, and Sacred Wounds and etc. Shrines and pilgrimages were popular because faith was about public action and confessions, about piety on display, while Reformed faith focused more on what you believed inside, in your heart and that it was correct Scriptural.  Medieval Faith all...

The End of the Church Building

The Final Stages of The Reformation or Ad Fontes (back to the sources) is underway. Covid was the first nail in the last coffin of Constantine’s errors, and the fear of       shooters and attackers is the next nail. Lake Wood, the Church of Joel Osteen had a shooter, and on the news a Newcaster admitted they look for suspicious people in pews who they flag as potential threats. This is the end of the accused building, The Church was never meant to be in a building with everyone being strangers. The church was in homes, and everyone knew each other from market, from a baptism, or from when Paul or someone had preached. The point is you knew who was in the chair next to you, now Mega Church models and perpetual visitors make everyone strangers, so you have no clue who is a threat, when in the old model of houses churches you had a clue who was sitting in the pew of your brand new dinning room set.   The Church has to change. The old system of buildings...

Why Sonic The Hedgehog Has Had Staying Power

There a few iconic characters in Video Gaming that really have staying power. Many like Conker, Crash Bandicoot, Banjo Kazooie, and etc come and go. Really the top challengers is The Italian Plumber Mario and Sonic The Hedgehog who has super speed and neat sneakers. SEGA designed Sonic out the gate to compete with Mario, to be the mascot who would convert gamers to their side. What was genius is Sonic was not a knockoff, the original game on the Genesis played so differently than Mario, it was dizzyingly fast paced where you could feel the speed of Sonic as you looped and zig and zagged across zones with the screen barely keeping up. Unlike Mario, Sonic had greater success in shows like The Adventures of Sonic The Hedgehog which felt very ACME Loony Toons, and the amazing Sonic SATam which with Archie’s Comics of The Blue Blur developed the mythos of Mobius with Freedom Fighters who were amorphous animals fighting the human cyborg Dr Robonik and his robotic take over of the plane...

Boldness in A Time of Fear

Chief’s Kicker Harrison Butker is facing a backlash from people over remarks he made at a Catholic Graduation where he praised his wife for being a “homemaker,” and “that the most fulfilling role you will have a woman is being a mother and wife.”  The false feminists & pseudo-inclusive groups  have risen up and already have a petition of 100,000 signatures to get Butker fired from The Chiefs. Make no mistake these alleged feminists are really communists, it is communism that hates faith and family, because both keep it from taking over.   Butker was talking at a Catholic venue, sharing Catholic & Conservative Christian beliefs. A backlash is insane because it was not an NFL venue or at a secular university, it was in the cradle of the beliefs he was espousing. Already NFL Commission has posted a disclaimer that Butker’s views “do not reflect their own views of inclusivity.” Ironic they deride him while enjoying the revenue fruit of his jersey selling out an...

Vilifying Christianity

There is a concerted effort in media to depict Christianity in its darkest light. To paint the church as a cruel Inquisition and Witches as heroines like in Salem series.    In most media Christians are very one dimensional bigots or idiots seen as    delusional like in The Fault in Our Stars or Easy A. The Christian films by Dove and Pureflix do not really help in making a rebuttal to caricatures of Christians, for most of their characters are wooden and plagued by low budgets.  The Chosen remains the sole exception in the sea of ridicule of Christianity, and it is getting rocky with backlash itself. The trope that Christians are dopes, and the church is repressive and out of touch is peddled in most films and shows, even though the same is not done to Jews, Buddhists, Hindus, New Ageists, Neo Pagans, Occult, and etc; in contrast there is a new Holocaust movie like every month, and plenty of films peddling New Age, and Pagan beliefs.  What is ironic...

Cobra Kai Message

In Cobra Kai Season 3, Episode 3 I forgot to mention in my earlier review a very important scene in which Johnny visit a Pastor friend and fellow former Cobra Kai Student. The Pastor takes down a grieving Johnny in the church service and then talks to him. In their exchange Johnny talks about he did the right thing, changed Cobra Kai to be good and all his students got hurt rather than things getting better. The Pastor then offers a line that is so important to remember, “You don’t do the right thing because it always works out, you do the right thing because its the right thing to do.”  We are conditioned to think of if we do the right thing everything will get better, and we will float on a cloud of victory. The truth is usually the opposite, doing the right thing can cost you, financially, personally, and in other ways. Richard Wurmbrandt did the right thing and became tortured for Christ, Diedrich Bonhoffer did the right thing and was executed for fighting the Third Reic...
