There is pernicious infection in the church, a wicked theology that claims Jews can be saved by the law and need not Jesus, and Gentiles will be saved by the grace of Jesus. This heresy is actually old, it was addressed by The First Council of the Church:
“The Jerusalem Council
But some men came down from Judea and were teaching the brothers, “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.” And after Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and debate with them, Paul and Barnabas and some of the others were appointed to go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and the elders about this question. So, being sent on their way by the church, they passed through both Phoenicia and Samaria, describing in detail the conversion of the Gentiles, and brought great joy to all the brothers. When they came to Jerusalem, they were welcomed by the church and the apostles and the elders, and they declared all that God had done with them. But some believers who belonged to the party of the Pharisees rose up and said, “It is necessary to circumcise them and to order them to keep the law of Moses.” The apostles and the elders were gathered together to consider this matter. And after there had been much debate, Peter stood up and said to them, “Brothers, you know that in the early days God made a choice among you, that by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of the gospel and believe. And God, who knows the heart, bore witness to them, by giving them the Holy Spirit just as he did to us, and he made no distinction between us and them, having cleansed their hearts by faith. Now, therefore, why are you putting God to the test by placing a yoke on the neck of the disciples that neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear? But we believe that we will be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they will.”
And all the assembly fell silent, and they listened to Barnabas and Paul as they related what signs and wonders God had done through them among the Gentiles. After they finished speaking, James replied, “Brothers, listen to me. Simeon has related how God first visited the Gentiles, to take from them a people for his name. And with this the words of the prophets agree, just as it is written.” (Acts 15:1-15)
There always have been polluters of the faith, “Even that question came up only because of some so-called believers there—false ones, really—who were secretly brought in. They sneaked in to spy on us and take away the freedom we have in Christ Jesus. They wanted to enslave us and force us to follow their Jewish regulations,” (Galatians 2:4), “I appeal to you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and create obstacles contrary to the doctrine that you have been taught; avoid them,” (Romans 16:17), “Here there is not Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, free; but Christ is all, and in all,” (Colossians 3:11), “Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ has made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage,” (Galatians 5:1, 13), “I do not treat the grace of God as meaningless. For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die,” (Galatians 2:21), “Yet we know that a person is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, so we also have believed in Christ Jesus, in order to be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified,” (Galatians 2:16), “I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting him who called you in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— not that there is another one, but there are some who trouble you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed,” (Galatians 1:6-9), “Look out for the dogs, look out for the evildoers, look out for those who mutilate the flesh. For we are the circumcision, who worship by the Spirit of God and glory in Christ Jesus and put no confidence in the flesh— though I myself have reason for confidence in the flesh also. If anyone else thinks he has reason for confidence in the flesh, I have more: circumcised on the eighth day, of the people of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; as to the law, a Pharisee; as to zeal, a persecutor of the church; as to righteousness under the law, blameless. But whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which comes through faith in Christ, the righteousness from God that depends on faith— that I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, that by any means possible I may attain the resurrection from the dead.” (Philippians 3:1-11).
Duo Covenant Theology is a falsehood, a lie, a heresy! For Jesus Christ Our Lord says,
“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me,” (John 14:6), “I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture,” (John 10:9), “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him,” (John 3:36), “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God,” (John 3:16-18), and his apostles confirm this, “For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, ‘The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.’There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:10-12), “For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus,” (1 Timothy 2:5).
Jesus has a harsh indictment of Jews who did not believe in Him, “Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who practices sin is a slave to sin. The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son remains forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. I know that you are offspring of Abraham; yet you seek to kill me because my word finds no place in you. I speak of what I have seen with my Father, and you do what you have heard from your father.”
You Are of Your Father the Devil
They answered him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would be doing the works Abraham did, but now you seek to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God. This is not what Abraham did. You are doing the works your father did.” They said to him, “We were not born of sexual immorality. We have one Father—even God.” Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love me, for I came from God and I am here. I came not of my own accord, but he sent me. Why do you not understand what I say? It is because you cannot bear to hear my word. You are of your father the devil, and your will is to do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe me. Which one of you convicts me of sin? If I tell the truth, why do you not believe me? Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God.” (John 8:34-47). The apostle Paul confirms this by saying, “You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God,” (Ephesians 2:2), that obedience is, “For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.” (John 8:34-47).
The Duo Covenant Heresy came in with The Messianic Movement that captivated people. There was such excitement to learn Jewish Roots, no one considered if this was an aim to infect the Church with Old Covenant and the Law, which is replaces by a New Covenant according to prophet Jeremiah, “Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the Lord. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34 And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for they shall all know me (John 17:3, John 14:7, John 6:40, Matthew 25:31-46), from the least of them to the greatest, declares the Lord. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more,” (Jeremiah 3:31-34) and Jesus Christ our Lord, “In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you,” (Luke 22:20), and his apostles, “to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel,” (Hebrews 12:24), “When God speaks of a “new” covenant, it means he has made the first one obsolete. It is now out of date and will soon disappear,” (Hebrews 8:13, “Because of this oath, Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant,” (Hebrews 7:22), and “Now, however, Jesus has received a much more excellent ministry, just as the covenant He mediates is better and is founded on better promises.” (Hebrews 8:6). What the Messianic Movement or well streams and sects within it did was “This matter arose because some false believers had infiltrated our ranks to spy on the freedom we have in Christ Jesus and to make us slaves/ Even that question came up only because of some so-called believers there—false ones, really—who were secretly brought in. They sneaked in to spy on us and take away the freedom we have in Christ Jesus. They wanted to enslave us and force us to follow their Jewish regulations,” (Galatians 2:4) and sought to entangle us again in the Mosaic Law which was fulfilled by Jesus Christ and all sin under it forever Jesus made Propitiation, atonement, justification, and forgiveness for, “For Christ did not enter into a holy place made with human hands, which was only a copy of the true one in heaven. He entered into heaven itself to appear now before God on our behalf. And he did not enter heaven to offer himself again and again, like the high priest here on earth who enters the Most Holy Place year after year with the blood of an animal. If that had been necessary, Christ would have had to die again and again, ever since the world began. But now, once for all time, he has appeared at the end of the age to remove sin by his own death as a sacrifice.
27 And just as each person is destined to die once and after that comes judgment, so also Christ was offered once for all time as a sacrifice to take away the sins of many people. He will come again, not to deal with our sins, but to bring salvation to all who are eagerly waiting for him.” (Hebrews 9:24-28). These Messianics are those false apostles, “For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ, And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light,” (1 Corinthians 11:13-14), who seek to “Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ,” (Galatians 1:7) and preach “another gospel” (Galatians 1:8-9) than the true gospel that The Lord Jesus Christ Son of God and God Incarnate who is One With The Father and Holy Spirit is the Only Way to be saved, cleansed, and the only door into heaven is faith (trust, and belief and faith) in Christ Jesus as Lord, Savior, and Son of God! There isn no other name that saves (Acts 4:12) and there is no other way (John 14:6), only Jesus! This is for all humankind, Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male or female, black or white, the only salvation is in Jesus! To believe otherwise is to insult the Spirit of Grace!, “How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?” (Hebrews 10:29).
We must resist Duo Covenant Theology and its lies! We should seek to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ to the Jew! That The Son of God and Son of David is the only Savior, Salvation, Justification, Forgiveness of all sin, and Way to know God because He is God, and be in heaven!
Jesus is The Only Way! Resist the contagion of Messianic Duo-Covenant Theology! There are Messianics that believe Jesus is the only Way and is Savior, but they are in a sea of pretenders and deceivers trying to make Christians trust in the Law and abandon Grace and The True Gospel of faith in Jesus Alone saves! Beware my brothers and sisters! I have witnesses a Pastor of mighty faith in Christ find out he has Jewish blood, so he turned his church into a Messianic synagogue, and for a while he kept Grace and faith in Jesus, but gradually he became obsessed with the Law, and now he has abandoned Jesus and is a Orthodox Jewish Rabbi! He has abandoned truth for a lie and is now an insulter of grace (Hebrews 10:29) and fallen away as Jesus predicted (Matthew 24:11-13). Much of apostasy, falling away from faith addressed in the New Testament was Christians going back to Judaism and Law to save them. So this has been a scourge of particular apostasy since The Early Church.
We must guard our hearts and minds, “guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus,” (Philippians 4:7). We must beware of anything that does not confess Jesus, “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2 By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God; this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world. //Dear friends, do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world. This is how we know if they have the Spirit of God: If a person claiming to be a prophet acknowledges that Jesus Christ came in a real body, that person has the Spirit of God. But if someone claims to be a prophet and does not acknowledge the truth about Jesus, that person is not from God. Such a person has the spirit of the Antichrist, which you heard is coming into the world and indeed is already here,” (1 John 4:1-3), and anything that takes our eyes and attention off Christ is of the devil, “looking only (fixing our eyes) at Jesus, the originator and perfecter of the faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrews 12:2). Beware! We are in an age of apostasy, even perhaps the Great Apostasy (2 Thessalonians 2:3). Guard your simple faith in Jesus jealously, “But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 11:3).
