As Christians we are not under the Law of Moses anymore! We are free people under Christ, redeemed by His precious blood, and sacrifice once for all. The Law was a tutor, it aim never to save but to point us to The All Sufficent Savior. The Law was meant to make us despair, and become aware that no matter what we are sinners who can’t be good enough, but that God who is Good become human flesh and died to make us good in Him for all eternity!
I am disturbed by how infiltrators under the guise of “Hebrew Roots” and “Messianic Jewish Teaching” have made an assault on Grace. These infiltrators spied our freedom, “This matter arose because some false believers had infiltrated our ranks to spy on the freedom we have in Christ Jesus and to make us slaves,” (Galatians 2:4) and their aim is to enslave us back in a law that Peter says, “Now, therefore, why are you putting God to the test by placing a yoke on the neck of the disciples that neither our fathers nor we have been able to bear? But we believe that we will be saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, just as they will.”” (Acts 15:10-11). The Apostle Paul spent much of his epistles battling the Infiltrators and false apostles intent on making people slaves to The Law, which is obsolete, ended, and fufilled by Christ.
The Law is Ended:
“For Christ is the end of the law, to bring righteousness to everyone who believes.” (Romans 10:4)
This settles it, Jesus ended the Law with its requirements by His sacrifice on the cross and Resurrection from the dead.
The Law cannot save you only The Lord Jesus Christ Can:
“The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature. So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins And so he condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.” (Romans 8:3-4)
“Through Jesus everyone who believes is justified from everything you could not be justified from by the law of Moses.” (Acts 13:39)
“know that a man is not justified by works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have believed in Christ Jesus, that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by works of the law, because by works of the law no one will be justified.” (Galatians 2:6)
“For since the law has but a shadow of the good things to come instead of the true form of these realities, it can never, by the same sacrifices that are continually offered every year, make perfect those who draw near. Otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, since the worshipers, having once been cleansed, would no longer have any consciousness of sins? But in these sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. For it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
When he said above, “You have neither desired nor taken pleasure in sacrifices and offerings and burnt offerings and sin offerings” (these are offered according to the law), then he added, “Behold, I have come to do your will.” He does away with the first in order to establish the second. And by that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” (Hebrews 10:1-4, 8-10)
The Law was always powerless ro save, salvation is by faith in Jesus Alone and His Grace, not keeping the law:
“I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!” (Galatians 2:21)
“How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace.” (Hebrews 10:29)
The Law Increases Sin:
”The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 5:20-21)
“The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians 15:56-57)
The Law increases our awarensss of sin and this awareness is the power of sin, that it has dominion over our flesh, that is until Christ in human flesh broke its power and cleanded us white as snow (). Now the Law is like diangnosis and the intrukent, an MRI, we all have the same disease, but Jesus is the cure and once He came you no longer need the Law, you have the Vaccine for Death and Eternal Death in Jesus!
The Old Covenant is Obsolete and fulfilled by Jesus for us:
“In speaking of a new covenant, he makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.” (Hebrews 8:13)
“But in fact the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, since the new covenant is established on better promises.” (Hebrews 8:6)
Jeremiah foretold this New Covenant would not be the Law, “” ().
The Law was tutor, now we have the fullness:
“Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.” (Galatians 3;24)
”Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. Such things are only a shadow of what is to come and they have only symbolic value; but the substance [the reality of what is foreshadowed] belongs to Christ.” (Colossians 2:16-17)
The Tutor is no longer needed, we havs The Source, we don’t need the shadow, we have the caster of the shadow.
The Law is finito, we need only faith in Jesus Christ of Nazareth to save us. Do not fall under the yoke of the Law of Moses, it is ended, Christ has come. Amen.
