Dominion: The Coming Rule of Christ

Anno Domini use to be a common term in our churches. It means in latin “In Year of our Lord.” Currently the US, European, and other countries  use it, it chronicles the date since Christ’s birth to present comes to 2022 A.D. (Anno Domini). Domni is where we get the word Dominium from in Latin which in english is Dominion. Dominion means to dominate, to rule. We are told in Scripture that Jesus Christ are Lord is already ruling, “After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God.” (Mark 16:19). We are also told that Jesus will Return and rule in Jerusalem for one thousand years, “Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.” (Revelation 20:4). I believe that this dominium, this rule of Christ is soon to happen, for many of the things have transpired that foretell his coming: 

“But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self,” (2 Timothy 3:1). Denzel Washington, the actor, recently made mention of how we live in a Selfie world, where people are obsessed with the self, and even asked aloud if we are truly in the end of days. 

“They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred.” (2 Timothy 3:2). Nothing is sacred anymore, genders are bended, unborn babies are slain (babies use to be treated as sacred), historical statues are toppled, religious shrines and places are defaced. 

“Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,.” (2 Thessalonians 2:3). We are seeing a major falling away from the faith as churches close or are censored over Covid, churches in places like England and Ireland are turned into pubs and Yoga studios; and the Church has lost moral authority over the Roman Catholic and Southern Baptist sex scandals. In addition, many are bridging their faith into other false religions like Chrislam, Christian Buddhism, Christian Witchcraft and etc. 

Satanism’ rise in popularity is a sign that The Lawless One, the antichrist is around the corner, “The coming of the lawless one is by the activity of Satan with all power and false signs and wonders,” (2 Thessalonians 2:9). In Detroit, Oklahoma City and etc they are erected giant Statues of Sigil of Satan, interestingly Revelation tells us Satan will speak through statues, “Revelation 13:14-17

[14] and by the signs that it is allowed to work in the presence of the beast it deceives those who dwell on earth, telling them to make an image for the beast that was wounded by the sword and yet lived. And it was allowed to give breath to the image of the beast, so that the image of the beast might even speak and might cause those who would not worship the image of the beast to be slain. Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name. This calls for wisdom: let the one who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and his number is 666.” (Revelation 13:14-18). For the first time in history all currencies, buying and selling could be controlled by one institution, like Bitcoin. Interestingly the Mark of the Beast is 666, and to program computers is 666 in binary, “yes no, yes no, yes no.” Intriguingly Jesus says, “Let what you say be simply ‘Yes’ or ‘No’; anything more than this comes from the devil:” (Matthew 5:37). Therefore there will be two dominions, the dominion of the antichrist which lasts 3 and half months and Jesus ends at his coming, “And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming.” (2 Thessalonians 2:8), and the thousand year Dominion of our Lord Jesus Christ, “They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.” (Revelation 20:4). 

I do find it timely that Dominion is the newest album of the Christian Rock Band Skillet, and the final Jurassic World film, Jurassic World: Dominion. Which tells me that the rulership is in the air, for the word has not been commonplace in a long time. 

There are even a plethora of religious people predicting that this year 2022 will be the End of the World, and return of Christ, one is Messianic Rabbi, another a Christian Deliverance minister, another a Christian Swedish Woman, another a New Ageist priestess, and two Muslim Imams, all saying Jesus will return in 2022. What makes this unique is all the other predictions of Christ return and dominion were one solitary person like Martin Luther, not a group pf people, and not across religions. Remember, The Magi who came to honor Jesus on His birth were pagans watching the stars, and following the One Star to Bethlehem. So God even can reveal signs to the Gentiles. 

All of this should have us excited and ready to receive our Lord Jesus, “Behold, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is he who stays awake and who keeps his clothes [that is, stays spiritually ready for the Lord’s return], so that he will not be naked—spiritually unprepared—and men will not see his shame” (Revelation 16:15, AMP). I believe there are many signs happening, and it is crucial we be ready more now more than ever for Jesus’ Return and Dominion. Amen.
