Our Great God and Savior Jesus Christ

Almost every false religion will affirm Jesus is a prophet or a great teacher.  Many cultic churches will confess Jesus is Son of God, and subordinate (lesser) to the Father (Origenism, Arianism). Most of the false christianities declared Iesus Christus as a  demi-god (half god) or lesser being such as an angel (Gnosticism, Arianism, Nestorianism, Mormonism, Jehovah Witnesses). Scriptural and Biblical Christianity declares the Truth that Jesus is God (Colossians 2:9, John 1:1-3, Titus 2:13), and is One with God the Father and God The Holy Spirit.

This is the road of demarkation with most pretenders or false prophets, confessing Jesus is God. The Divinity of Christ is orthodox theology; what the Apostles and Christ Himself declared:

“For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity (Godhead) dwells in bodily form.” (Colossians 2:9)

“Waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,” (Titus 2:13)

“Simeon Peter, a servant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained a faith of equal standing with ours by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ” (2 Peter 1:1)

“To them belong the patriarchs, and from their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ who is God over all, blessed forever. Amen.” (Romans 9:5)

“No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is Himself God and is at the Father’s side, has made Him known.” (John 1:18)

“Jesus asked, ‘for what good work do you stone me?’ We are not stoning You for any good work,” said the Jews, “but for blasphemy, because You, who are a man, declare Yourself to be God.” (John 10:32-33)

“Because of this, the Jews tried all the harder to kill Him. Not only was He breaking the Sabbath, but He was even calling God His own Father, making Himself equal with God.” (John 5:18)

There are many other passages that affirm the Divinity of Christ such as John 1:1-3, Colossians 1:16-18, Hebrews 1:1-14, Philippians 2:4-9, and more. I simply chose passages that have in the sentence that Jesus is God in plain and indisputable lettering.

In addition to the Scriptures, The Council of Nicaea affirms that Jesus is God:

“Earlier, local councils provided a model for resolving divisions within the Church, but Constantine planned something much grander. The twenty disciplinary laws (canons) agreed at Nicaea were intended to legislate for the entire Christian world. Similarly, the council’s decision on the views of Arius –who claimed that Jesus, the Son of God, must be subordinate to God the Father and could not be of the same substance –would be universally applied [Arius’s views beinf rejected by the council]. After discussions, the council (of Nicea) defined the Son as consubstantial (homoousios) and co-eternal with the Father, sharing the same divine nature. This was vital, because if Christ was not the Incarnate Logos (Word of God) with the same fully divine nature, mere humans could not hope to share in eternal life through salvation. The writings of Arius were condemned and he was exiled. Finally, the council issued a dogmatic definition of Christian belief, the creed, and decided on a method of calculating the date of Easter (to be celebrated on the Sunday after the full moon following the spring equinox). All but two of the bishops present are reported to have signed their agreement." (from "Byzantium: The Surprising Life of a Medieval Empire" by Judith Herrin, Chapter 4: Greek Orthodoxy, Pg 35-36). Judith Herrin’s statement, “This was vital, because if Christ was not the Incarnate Logos (Word of God) with the same fully divine nature, mere humans could not hope to share in eternal life through salvation,” is so true. One must believe Jesus is God in order to accept the truth that He being God died on the cross for sin for all time. The apostle Peter says God does not live in time (2 Peter 3:1-9) and is eternal, thus for Christ to cleanse us from sin and give us eternal life, He must be God who is eternal and to cover those sins for all time  (Hebrews 10:10, 1 Peter 3:1)  He is the same God who lives outside time and yet in it. Ergo, Mrs. Herrin’s conjecture is correct, our salvation hinges on confessing and believing that Jesus is God and that He chose to endure the cross in a body for our sins and the sins of the world once for all time (Hebrews 10:10).

What is considered controversial by some circles is the center of Christianity according to The Bible and The Council of Nicea. Jesus is absolutely God and Divine! To be a Christian you must confess this, hence why the apostle Paul says, “Anyone who confesses Jesus is LORD (God of Israel, Jehovah) and believes God raised Him from the dead will be saved.” (Romans 10:9).

Iesous, Jesus is the Way, the Only Way to the Father and eternal life; only by His blood can we be in the Holy Trinity and the Trinity in us (1 John 4:15):

“Jesus answered, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” (John 14:6)

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

“For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”” (John 6:40)

“My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.  I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”” (John 10:27-30)

“Now this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.” (John 17:3)

Jesus is God. This is the belief, confession, and affirmation of a Christian. So let us say it boldly and loudly in faith! Let us praise our “Great God and Savior Jesus Christ.” Amen.

Israel’s Conquest of Canaan: The Nephilim and Giants

Christianity Today asserts that the conquest of Canaan can be a “stumbling block” for believers. This probably is because of a foolish idea of comparing it to a modern conquest happening in our world. The truth is that God had Israel conquer Canaan because it was ruled by evil giants, “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” (Numbers 13:33). These are Anakim or Nephilim, the children of angels and human women, “When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God (angels) saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. The...

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. According to Darb'ys doctrine of Dispensationalism, God dispenses different covenants. There are total of seven dispensations that divide the history of man: I. Dispensation of Innocence (prior to the Fall, "Do not east of the Fruit of Good and Eve, Eden), II. Dispensation of Conscience ( You must assuage guilt and sin with blood sacrifices.) III. Dispensation of Human Government (Multiply and Subdue the world, example the Tower of Babel Gen 11:1-9, and Genesis 1:28). IV. Dispensation of the Promise (Dwell in Canaan, Jerusalem) V. Dispensation of the Law ("Obey the Law of Moses and the Prophets"). VI. Dispensation of Grace (The Church, Jesus Christ has come...

Jesus’ Name in Aramaic

There has been a trend to render Jesus’ name Hebrew, יֵשׁוּעַ , Yeshua. The problem is neither Christ nor his apostles, nor the Jews in 30-33 A.D. spoke Hebrew, they spoke Aramaic. A ramaic is the oldest language on earth and was the language Jesus spoke. In fact, the oldest Old Testament is the Septuagint a Greco translation around 132 B.C.E. (165 Years Before Christ)that was translated from Aramaic. The Masoretic Text, The Hebrew Old Testament most Bibles use, dates from 7th to 10th Century A.D. (Medieval Times).  This translation does not cross reference with the words of Christ in the New Testament which are Aramaic and Koine Greek.  If the Aramaic was what Jesus spoke, then by what name would have been called? Jesus’ name in Aramaic is Isho or Eesho, spelled ܝܫܘܥ . That is the name of our Lord in Aramaic! He would have heard his name in this dialect, “Hail Isho or Eesho!” as well as the Greek, Ἰ ησο ῦ ς , Iesous.  Aramaic is disappearing, only a few peop...
