The children are starving for fathers, in fact homosexuality can be traced always to broken down relationship with the father, gays (homosexual males) choose the same sex because they lacked that bond with their father, and same for lesbians (homosexual females) they have decided to never trust a man again because most Homosexuals were sexually molested and raped by a father or father figure like an uncle. Children are crying out for fathers, and to answer this cry they seek out new fathers in form of teachers at university, priests or rabbis, and other leading men to satisfy that relational deficit in their lives. Many even make fathers out of historical figures, making Julius Cesar, Cicero, Aristotle, Dante, and more their fathers. Some turn to fictional fathers from Full House to the Wonder Years and beyond. In one particular fiction, a professor of Antiquity history named William (Kevin Kline) tries to be father to some elite school boys by teaching them honor, virtue, and character in the Greco-Roman histories. Later in film it is revealed Professor William has a bad relationship with his father which forced him to looking to Julius Cesar and Marc Antony as fathers, and to be a father to abandon sons at the school, this causes him to care for and try to help another abandoned son named Bell that causes many problems ethnically and emotionally.
The emptiness in the hearts of the children needs a Father's touch, and yet most fathers have not idea nor desire to step up to the plate. One film called "Courageous" tried to muster fathers to become better and not just "a good father." But the film despite its inspiration has not changed the deficit in this world.
For all the emotional orphans of this world there is but one answer to this emptiness, one Father who can take place of the derelict dads, and fathers who have forsaken their posts, that is our Heavenly Father. Jesus Christ tells us the only way to access this relationship with our Father in Heaven in through Him, "None may come to Father except through me," (John 14:6) this is because Jesus and Father are One (John 10:30), and "Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him. Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us." Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? Don't you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work. Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves. Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father." (John 14:6-13). Our relationship with Christ is intrinsic and symbiotic to having a relationship with the Father. The Apostle John emphasizes this duo-relationship further, "We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ." (1 John 1:3). The Apostle Paul echoes this, "But we know that there is only one God, the Father, who created everything, and we live for him. And there is only one Lord (Jehovah, God of Israel), Jesus Christ, through whom God made everything and through whom we have been given life." (1 Corinthians 8:6).
The key to filling that need for father inside us all is found in the Trinity. Only the Father through The Son can enter into the deep recesses of our soul and heal the orphan inside. It takes God to fix the problem because He made us to be fathers and sons, it is by divine design and so only He can take the place of an earthly father. Sadly many do not go to Christ, but instead seek our other devices. Steve Jobs, Apple CEO and inventor was an orphan and was passed around, which created a bitterness inside him; despite the fact that his adopted parents and father loved him, Jobs became bitter and a cruel person. Walt Disney was an orphan, and he escaped his pain in fantasy and child stories, but in every single story there parents, fathers and even mothers die or abandon their children. Fatherless generations are now shaping America, having be latchkey kids who had technology and sitters are parents rather than mom and dad are now revealing how dangerous it is to abandon a generation as they seek the destruction of all order and law.
Perhaps even Superhero pantheon of DC and MARVEL have to do with people wanting a superhero father to come to their rescue (notice how great superheroes of men, Batman, Superman, Ironman). One cannot escape the haunting opening chapter of Man of Steel where Jor-El must protect and die to protect his son Kal-El from General Zod's wrath, or when Darth Vader in The Empire Strikes Back reveals to Luke Skywalker that he is his father. Almost every epic and timeless story has a father issue in it, take even the King Arthur legends. Arthur's father Uther Pendragon connives via Magic to be with Igraine and this creates Arthur, but Uther is long dead by time Arthur is a young boy and so Arthur must go and learn from another man and his son how to live in Medieval Times. King Arthur then looks to Merlin as his mentor and father figure for the rest of his days.
Let no one mistake that mothers are unimportant, that relationship has ramifications too, but that is for another post. The father and son, and father and daughter relationship is crucial from Adolescence to Adulthood. In tradition, the mother handed over their children to Father to learn how to survive, to thrive, and "Go walk about." Sadly, many dads do not do this anymore, and generations are roaming about on their own trying to figure out how to be fathers, and forgers. It is this disconnect between fathers and their children that is creating the great evils of our times, as young men and women flock to ISIS, shoot Police, and cause mayhem and death daily.
In the end the only solution is to seek our Heavenly Father and remain in Him, "Let what you heard from the beginning abide in you. If what you heard from the beginning abides in you, then you too will abide in the Son and in the Father." (1 John 2:24). It is keeping to The Holy Bible, and the revelations the Holy Trinity gives us that we will find ourselves abiding in the Ultimate Father, the Father who created all fathers, and by watching the relationship between the Father and His Son, we learn what it means to be sons, "Jesus gave them this answer: "Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does," (John 5:19), "For I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me to say all that I have spoken," (John 12:49), "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven," (Matthew 7:21), "Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me? The words I say to you, I do not speak on My own. Instead, it is the Father dwelling in Me, carrying out His work," (John 14:10), "But I do exactly what the Father has commanded Me, so that the world may know that I love the Father. Get up! Let us go on from here," (John 14:31), "For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother," (Matthew 12:50), and "that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one--I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me." (John 17:21-23). The Father and Son and Holy Spirit always honor, work in unity, and lead people to one another, "But when the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby) comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, that is the Spirit of Truth who comes from the Father, He will testify and bear witness about Me," (John 15:26, which is you cross reference ends up going back in circle see John 14:6 and John 10:30, John 17:20-23).
We learn what a father and son relationship should be through the One God, who is One and complete, yet Three who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God's very nature and essence is a relationship that contains Father, and Son; something we seek yet do not find always in our earthly father relationship. So seek the Holy Trinity, let your Heavenly Father be your father through Jesus Christ, and learn to be Son from Jesus Christ who did thus, "Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him." (Hebrews 5:8-9). This obedience of the Son in the Trinity (Who is One God) produces this fruit, "And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross. Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." (Phillippians 2:8-11). It is difficult to describe the relationship of the Trinity, because The Father and the Son are One, they are same God and One in everyway, yet they are district and have personalities and their own characteristics (read my posts on the Trinity). It is unexplainable because The Trinity is God, and so we only see "through glass dimly," (1 Corinthians 13:12). But this relationship of God, Father and Son is a model for us on earth, and we must become sons of God (Galatians 3:26, Romans 8:14), and "And, "I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty." (2 Corinthians 6:18). That relationship we so desire for father can be found through believing in Jesus Christ (read and believe Romans 10:9-10, John 3:16). The only way to cure this need for a Father is through Jesus Christ, and yet our world makes war on Him, the only solace and salvation for their souls.
