Tampering with Translations

There is a growing concern over translation accuracy, and for good reason. Many Bible translations are now changing the meanings of important passages! These are not subtle changes to make the Scriptures more understandable or using a thesaurus, or to explain the "spirit of the law" (2 Corinthians 3:6) which is call a Heart to Heart translation oppose to Thought for Thought. No these are absolute changes of what the Scriptures really was saying so that it changes other Scriptures, and creates a different account! Here are some examples:

Here is a comparison of Daniel 10:13

"But for twenty-one days the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the archangels, came to help me, and I left him there with the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia." (NLT)

"But the prince of the Persian kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the king of Persia." (NIV)

The real translation is the NLT in this case because The Archangel Michael battled the Prince of Persia so Daniel could receive his answer from The Lord. But the NIV and most translation now read like this was battle between earthly princes, men, rather than cosmic and celestial beings known to us angels and spirits! This significant change will lead people to believe Michael is merely a man and prince, when clearly Michael is an angel, "Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back." (Revelation 12:7).

Another example of tampering is Ezekiel 28:

"The word of the Lord came again to me, saying, ² “Son of man, say to the ^[a]leader of Tyre, ‘Thus says the Lord God,

“Because your heart is lifted up
And you have said, ‘I am a god,
I sit in the seat of gods
In the heart of the seas’;
Yet you are a man and not God,
Although you make your heart like the heart of God—
³ Behold, you are wiser than Daniel;
There is no secret that is a match for you.
⁴ “By your wisdom and understanding
You have acquired riches for yourself
And have acquired gold and silver for your treasuries.
⁵ “By your great wisdom, by your trade
You have increased your riches
And your heart is lifted up because of your riches—

⁶ Therefore thus says the Lord God,

‘Because you have made your heart
Like the heart of God,
⁷ Therefore, behold, I will bring strangers upon you,
The most ruthless of the nations.
And they will draw their swords
Against the beauty of your wisdom
And defile your splendor.
⁸ ‘They will bring you down to the pit,
And you will die the death of those who are slain
In the heart of the seas.
⁹ ‘Will you still say, “I am a god,”
In the presence of your slayer,
Though you are a man and not God,
In the hands of those who wound you?
¹⁰ ‘You will die the death of the uncircumcised
By the hand of strangers,

For I have spoken!’ declares the Lord God!”’ (Ezekiel 28, NASB).

Here is newer translation:

The word of the Lord came to me: ² “Son of man, say to the ruler of Tyre, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says:

“‘In the pride of your heart
    you say, “I am a god;
I sit on the throne of a god
    in the heart of the seas.”
But you are a mere mortal and not a god,
    though you think you are as wise as a god.
³ Are you wiser than Daniel?
    Is no secret hidden from you?
⁴ By your wisdom and understanding
    you have gained wealth for yourself
and amassed gold and silver
    in your treasuries.
⁵ By your great skill in trading
    you have increased your wealth,
and because of your wealth
    your heart has grown proud.

⁶ “‘Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says:

“‘Because you think you are wise,
    as wise as a god,
⁷ I am going to bring foreigners against you,
    the most ruthless of nations;
they will draw their swords against your beauty and wisdom
    and pierce your shining splendor.
⁸ They will bring you down to the pit,
    and you will die a violent death
    in the heart of the seas.
⁹ Will you then say, “I am a god,”
    in the presence of those who kill you?
You will be but a mortal, not a god,
    in the hands of those who slay you.
¹⁰ You will die the death of the uncircumcised
    at the hands of foreigners.

I have spoken, declares the Sovereign Lord.’”

¹¹ The word of the Lord came to me: ¹² “Son of man, take up a lament concerning the king of Tyre and say to him: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says. (Ezekiel 28, NIV). This version and many other translations make it sound like this Prince of Tyre is a man, a mere mortal human being, when it

obviously  talking about Satan not a king of tyre, for Isaiah says, "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

¹³ For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
¹⁴ I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
¹⁵ Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit." (Isaiah 14:12-15). Even this passage about Lucifer's fall which is confirmed by Jesus (Luke 10:18), and by The Apostle John's vision, "The great dragon was hurled down--that ancient serpent called the devil, or Satan, who leads the whole world astray. He was hurled to the earth, and his angels with him." (Revelation 12:9). And yet some translators have dared to try and change the record by changing Isaiah 14:12-15 to sound like its another prince and king, when it originally reads Lucifer, and what prince of this world lead worship in Eden, was in heavens, and more?

Another startling change is the omission of virgin regarding Mary,

"This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit." (Matthew 1:18, NIV)

"This is how Jesus the Messiah was born. His mother, Mary, was engaged to be married to Joseph. But before the marriage took place, while she was still a virgin, she became pregnant through the power of the Holy Spirit." (Matthew 1:18, NLT)

Again the New Living Translation is more correct, making it abundantly clear Mary was virgin and that it was power of Holy Spirit that overshadowed her, "Mary said to the angel, "How can this be, since I am a virgin?" The angel answered and said to her, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God." (Luke 1:24-35). The New Living which is closer to the older translations tells it with accuracy and cross references better!

The goal of these changes is to cause confusion. I believe infiltrators of the evil one are changing scripture so that people will become confused. Additionally, it matters what sources of translation are used. Here are some examples, most translations uses the Hebrew Old Testament and Greek New Testament, but the problem is that the Hebrew was not used in Jesus' Day, but rather Aramaic (a more ancient language), in fact it says in New Testament, "After receiving the commander’s permission, Paul stood on the steps and motioned to the crowd. When they were all silent, he said to them in Aramaic.." (Acts 21:40). Then there is problem of the Old Testaments, the Septuagint Greek versus the Hebraic Hebrew translation. The Septuagint is older, more accurate, and actually keeps all the allusions to Christ even in Genesis 1,

"In Beginning God created the heavens and earth,
and spirit of god hovered over waters,
then God spoke and there was Light," (Septuagint, The Orthodox Study Bible)
-The Orthodox Study Bible explains this is not Father creating Jesus, but that the Father spoke and Christ stepped into the darkness to bring forth light, and that in Jesus Christ all light and insight dwells.

versus

"In the Beginning God created the heavens and earth,
and the spirit of God hovered over the waters,
then God spoke and said let there be light, and there was light." (Hebrew Old Testament, Most Bibles)The Septuagint translation reveals that the whole Trinity is there, God the Father, and Holy Spirit, and Jesus who is Light, "When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." (John 8:12). The Septuagint that "God spoke and there was Light," is referring to John's creation account, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ² He was with God in the beginning. ³ Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. ⁴ In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. ⁵ The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." (John 1:1-5). The Greek OT contains the Creation verse that shows Jesus is there, who is Light and through whom everything was made (John 1:3). This is omitted in the Hebrew Old Testament because by the time of Titus in 70 A.D. the Zealots wanted to unite Jews against Rome, and so they created a new Old Testament called the Half Tankh, which omits many verses, and chapters about the messiah, because there was all this debate over if Jesus was the messiah or not. The Half Tankh has Isaiah 53 which speaks of suffering Servant who is Jesus taken out, and so the Half Tankh goes Isaiah 52 and next chapter is Isaiah 54. Then later in the Middle Ages, in 1200 A.D. Jews created another Hebrew Translation of the Bible that was very antichrist and this was influenced by their experiences during Rhineland Massacres.

The problem is that many translators trust the Hebrew Old Testament and use Hebrew translations in the New Testament, when Jesus Christ and Jews of 30-33 A.D. spoke Aramaic and were using the Greek Septuagint translation of the Old Testament. This is what causes many problems when a Bible is translated, people think they need only to use Hebrew Old Testament and Greek New Testament like Jerome did for Latin Vulgate, but the truth is you need a Greek Septuagint for the Old Testament, and a Greek New Testament with Aramaic parts.

Thus the tampering with Bible translations is either a misunderstanding of which sources of the original text should be used or it is deliberate attempt to change Scripture in order to if possible, "For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect." (Matthew 24:24), "But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God's curse!" (Galatians 1:8), and "For if someone comes and proclaims a Jesus other than the One we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit than the One you received, or a different gospel than the one you accepted, you put up with it way too easily." (2 Corinthians 11:4). In fact there is another example of mistranslation regarding that last verse:

"For if one comes and preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, you bear this beautifully." (2 Corinthians 11:4, NASB)
Now Paul is using the remark, "you bear this beautifully," as rebuke, like if you use the tone, "you bear this beautifully, ugh." But the problem is many are not going to get subtitly of this. And suddenly Nestorians, Copts, Mormons, and more feel they have leg to stand on when it really reads as below:

"For if someone comes and proclaims a Jesus other than the One we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit than the One you received, or a different gospel than the one you accepted, you put up with it way too easily" (2 Corinthians 11:4, Berean Bible)

We already know what Christ feels about changing Scripture, "I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll." (Revelation 22:18). I believe Christ has no issue with someone who tries to translate the Bible so that people can understand, by adding synonyms and offering more modern wording (supplemented by the original) to convey the point of the message (Martin Luther did this when translating the Bible into German), but the Savior has curses for those who change it deliberately to hide the Truth and deceive people.

The New Living Translation is surprisingly keeping the old pre 1971 and 1977 translation that is more accurate than many of the modern NIV and even NASB translations. At this point the best translations are The New Living Translation, The English Standard Translation, The New American Standard Edition (1971), The King James Version (not the 21st century version), and The Interlinear Bible. If you can, get older versions of the Bible preferably pre 1977. Many of the newer edition are changing into apostasy!

Finally, make sure you get hard copies of the Holy Bible in the best translations. The problem with trusting Bible apps and even online Bible sources like Bible Hub and Bible Gateway, is that anyone could update, change, and remove information! This was my concern when eReaders came out like the Nook and Kindle, I worried if society got too digital, then no one would have hard copies, and as result when the changes are noticed, you have not evidence and you cannot correct them. Digital translations and apps are helpful, but make not mistake that trusting people who can change anything on whim is not wise, hence why Wikipedia had to create trust and monitor contributers to make sure they did not change things out of spite.
