Western Civilization is Christendom. It was because of Crusaders that western countries and their cultures continue to exist today. Had Islam in its first massive invasions between 400-735 A.D. not been Curbed at the Battle of Tours in France by Charles Martel, Europe would be Emirates. The Crusades beginning in 1095 A.D. and covering the Iberian peninsula of Spain and Portugal in the Reconquista (1095-1492 A.D.), Syria and Palestine (1095-1291 A.D.), the Baltics (1100-1200 A.D.), and beyond had the duo effect of uniting the diverse tribes of Europe (something that had never happened before), and halting the Islamic advance. Western Civilization and western nations owe their existence to the Christian Crusaders who spilt their blood, sold all their possessions, and sought to save Christendom (Western to Eastern: Compestela to Constantinople) and their souls by fighting the Saracens in sanctified violence (penitential warfare, just war, holy war) with their swords. The battles of Lepanto (Oct 7, 1571 A.D.), Malta and Rhodes (September 11th 1565) and Hasburgs Wars (1525-1791 A.D.) routed the second massive invasion of Islam. Had the Ottoman Turks succeeded, there would only be one civilization, culture, and community called the Dar al Islam or the Ummah. All that is western: art, religion, philosophy, history, music, dance, commerce, government, and more would not exist had the Ottomans prevailed. The Mona Lisa would be Mameluke al Sad, Cathedrals like Westminster would be Wahhabi white washed mosques, and America would be Amerarabia. In fact, ISIS has resumed what the Seljuk Turks and Ottoman Turks started, their hope is to conquer Christendom and as Mehmed II said, "Unite the younger sister new Rome (Constantinople, now Istanbul) with the older sister in the West known as Rome." ISIS/ISIL wants the one world Ummah the Seljurks, Ummayads, Fatimuds, and Ottomans failed to achieve.
Western Civilization, Christendom is under attack! Our enemies want to whip us off the face of the earth and destroy all traces of our civilization: this means they want the USA, Britain (UK), France, Italy, Austria, Germany, Hungary, Sweden, Switzerland, Ireland, Scotland, Iceland, Spain, Portugal, Latin America, and more to burn and be replaced with Islamic Civ. After the West, Islam will invade and implant itself while eradicating the Slavic countries of Russia, Ukraine, Yugoslavia, and more (all Christian), then Greece, followed by India, China, Japan, Taiwan, Vietnam, North Korea, South Korea, Ungolia, Malaysia, Poland, and all of Africa. ISIS and the partisans of terror like Al-Qada, Boko Haram, Al Shabob, Hezbollah, and more want to destroy Christendom and Israel (Zion), then everyone else. The adage of the radical Islamists is, "kill the Jews on Saturday, kill Christians on Sunday, kill everyone else on Monday, and finally kill each other Sunni v. Shia the rest of the week."
Western Countries must lead the fight like their Crusader ancestors did. We are Christendom! Fight for the Christian faith or at the very least the rich Western culture! If the warriors of the cross do not rise now, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, Taoists, Shintoists, Atheists, Agonistics, and all others will be butchered as infidels and enemies of Islam. We Christians deserve the support of pagans because we tolerate them, while Muslims will massacre them! We believers share the words of the Gospel with unbelievers, while Muslims share their swords to gut and spill the blood of unbelievers. Who do you want as neighbors diverse world? We Christians are taught by Christ to "love your enemy and pray for those who persecute you," (Matthew 5:44), "But I tell you, do not resist an evil person. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to them the other cheek also," (Matthew 5:39), "This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth," (1 Timothy 2:3-4), "He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.," (Mark 16:15), "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit," (Matthew 28:19), and "You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect." (Matthew 5:43-48). Or do you want Muslim neighbors instructed in their holy book and by their prophet, "O Prophet! Make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites. Be harsh with them. Their ultimate abode is hell, a hapless journey's end." (Sura 9:73), "Muslims are harsh against the unbelievers, merciful to one another," (Sura 48:25), “Prophet! Make war on the unbelievers and the hypocrites and deal sternly with them. Hell shall be their home, evil their fate,” (Sura 66:9), “The unbelievers among the People of the Book and the pagans shall burn forever in the fire of hell. They are the vilest of all creatures,” (Sura 98:51) and "Fight unbelievers who are near to you." (Sura 9:123, different translation: believers! Make war on the infidels who dwell around you. Let them find harshness in you. another source: Ye who believe! Murder those of the disbelievers). We Christians are commanded, "Thou shall not lie," (Exodus 20:16) and " But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars--they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death." (Revelation 21:8). Muslims in contrast are told to lie for their faith which is called Taqiyya, "a Muslim may lie for the expansion of Islam and deceive unbelievers (even marry Christian woman and claim to be Christian and later reveal he is Muslim), but may not lie about Allah and that he is one." We find ourselves once more in a war with invaders who are Islamists. Before there were valiant Christians who would fight and die to stop the Saracen threat. Now there are Postmodern people and a secular Europe with no stomach to fight. Redneck America is zealous but unorganized and incapable of unity due to individualism. To defeat Islam you need religion. In the ranks of ISIS and Taliban are men who believe holy war (Jihad Akbar) will merit them paradise (Sura ). They believe they must die in battle to achieve salvation. We as Protestants believe "by grace you have been saved, not by works, so that no one can boast,” (Ephesians 2:8-9) and "No! We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are." (Acts 15:11). We have no incentive for a crusading indulgence (guarantee of heaven if we die fighting in the crusade). But we do have Paul's words, "For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far; but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body. Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith.” (Phillippians 1:21-25). The axis of the neo crusade we need hinges on theses verses, "but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved,” (Matthew 24:13), "no greater love is there than to lay down one's life for a friend,” (John 15:13), and "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me,” (Matthew 16:24). We as Christians are when pushed to edge called to arms, " He said to them, "But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one.” (Luke 22:36). Jesus Christ instructed his disciples to arm themselves because the times were going to get dangerous. People would not receive them with the hand of friendship, and bandits on roads were threaten them. In Christendom and Christian Just War, fighting is permitted in Self Defense according to what was articulated by St. Augustine of Hippo and Cicero. We may take up arms to defend our friends and fellow Christians or to defend our countries and lands, and families. Islam is the opposite, it is a conquest oriented religion that wants all to “submit” to its rule/religion or the sword. Islam does not rely on self-defense, it employs offense and starts wars. The time has come to fight for Christendom or else our Children will not know Christ, “This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth." (1 Timothy 2:3-4). If our King of Kings is to come and reign, we must defend his throne in Jerusalem and in jurisdiction (states) of the Church. Otherwise we will become like Byzantium, the Eastern Christian Empire that was conquered and crushed by Islam and now is but a incidental memory in history.
I am quite upset how my Protestant brothers and sisters demean Catholics. I have news for you proud Protestants (I am Protestant) it was the Catholics who were left to defend Christendom from Islam's advance while Protestants fought over doctrine, and theology (important, but the survival of Christianity is important too!). Then when Battle of Lepanto was won, Protestants celebrated with joy, even though they had condemned the crusades and crusaders! I would say this to my Protestant brothers and sisters, we are Protestant because of Catholics! It is because of Crusaders from 1095-1565 A.D. that we had the chance to reform the Church! If it weren't for Catholic Crucinatia there would be no church to reform! For those everyone else there would be no Western Civilization, and the free world that so many immigrant flock to, called The United States of America would never have existed had it not been for those brave soldiers of Christ who have up their land, loot, lives, and family lines to ensure Christendom survived. Islam was succeeded in its conquest, Eastern Christendom ranging Egypt to Antioch, and even Southern Italy, Spain, Africa, and more was falling under flag of Crescent. Finally Western Christians took up the cross on 1095 A.D. at Clermont and changed the face of history, saving the Church from being crushed.
