Not of This World

It seems like the enemy is winning. All around us we see Satan and his servants taking ground through terrorism, television, and telecommunications. The presence of the prince of this world in media, movies, and masterpieces is enough to make many believers discouraged. Why is it that Satan is getting such foothold? Its as if he owns the world and God isn't intervening.

The truth is that we are looking at the problem from the wrong perspective. Jesus Christ said, "They (believers) are not of this world, just as I am not of it." (John 17:16). Then St. Paul said, "conform not to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of out minds." (Romans 12:12). The truth is that this whole world belong to our enemy; "We know we are children of God, and that the whole world belong to the evil one." (1 John 5:19). That's right, the world is under the dominion of the devil! That is why Hollywood, the national media, much of literature, and most of the music industry endorses, supports, and shares Satanic messages or beliefs like Nihilism, Humanism, Darwinism, and every thought, argument, pretension and imagination that sets itself up again God. As Christians we told to respond: "We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ." (2 Corinthians 10:5).

This world is bound by the father of Lies. It says, "the god of this world (Satan) has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the Gospel that displays the glory of Christ, , who is the image of God." (1 Corinthians 4:4). This is why Satan is having such success; this world is his and his ways lead away from Christ. Now are we to hate everything in the world? Are we to despise every pleasure and desire? Well read this scripture and answer that for yourself, "Do not love the world or anything in If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in them." (1 John 2:15).

The King of Heaven, the spiritual world is what we are to be concerned with. Jesus said, "Do not store for yourselves treasures on this earth. But store up your treasures in heaven, where moth, vermin, and rust cannot destroy and where thieves cannot break in and steal." (Matthew 6:20). We often want to hear a message that proclaims attachment to this world, it gives comfort and makes us feel like we can relax and enjoy the vacation. Well this life is not a vacation! It is a battlefield, it is boot camp and it is where we are to be battle hardened veterans winning souls to belief in Jesus Christ!

When Jesus returns, nothing will survive. His fire shall consume the earth and destroy it; "By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare." (1 Peter 3:7,10). He will then create a new heaven and earth (Revelation 21:1).  Nothing of this earth, not even cathedrals and cleaver systems of the church will remain. All shall be purified with fire and so to have any stock in this world is folly; fore one day it shall be destroyed. For those who think they can be lukewarm and have some attachment to the world, let me remind that Jesus said, "If your hand offends you, cut it off. It is better to enter heaven without a hand, than to go into hell with your whole body." (Matthew 5:30). Granted this is not meant to be literal, in the sense we are not suppose to cut our hand off, but anything that would send us to hell must be cut off from our lives!

This world is tainted. Everything about it has strain of Satanic rebellion, self will, and pride. It will all burn away and yet people cling to it and shirk their cross. We must not be of this world, but be 100 percent of the Kingdom of God. Jesus Christ must be our absolute focus, purpose, and devotion. We must "Put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed, which is idolatry.
," (Colossians 3:5) and become attuned to the ways of the Holy Spirit. This world is fallen and will continue to fall until it is consumed in God's righteous fire. We must not be attached, but we must live in it and reach those who are chained to this world.

Choose today not to be of this world by taking the first step. Ask the Lord Jesus Christ to become your savior. Repent of your sins, turn away from wicked and bad choices. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and life. Dedicate yourself to Him and He will show you a greater world; one that many do not see because of the blindness of the enemy. Like Neo in Matrix you will wake up to see the machines and tubes of people being brainwashed and fed on. But it won't be that depressing, for the Love of God and Joy of Lord will be your strength. You will see how blind and dead this world is, but feel so alive in your spirit by serving the One True God! You will find purpose and the Truth. Choose today to die to this world, and to live for Christ and the Kingdom of Heaven.

Israel’s Conquest of Canaan: The Nephilim and Giants

Christianity Today asserts that the conquest of Canaan can be a “stumbling block” for believers. This probably is because of a foolish idea of comparing it to a modern conquest happening in our world. The truth is that God had Israel conquer Canaan because it was ruled by evil giants, “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” (Numbers 13:33). These are Anakim or Nephilim, the children of angels and human women, “When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God (angels) saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. The...

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. According to Darb'ys doctrine of Dispensationalism, God dispenses different covenants. There are total of seven dispensations that divide the history of man: I. Dispensation of Innocence (prior to the Fall, "Do not east of the Fruit of Good and Eve, Eden), II. Dispensation of Conscience ( You must assuage guilt and sin with blood sacrifices.) III. Dispensation of Human Government (Multiply and Subdue the world, example the Tower of Babel Gen 11:1-9, and Genesis 1:28). IV. Dispensation of the Promise (Dwell in Canaan, Jerusalem) V. Dispensation of the Law ("Obey the Law of Moses and the Prophets"). VI. Dispensation of Grace (The Church, Jesus Christ has come...

Jesus’ Name in Aramaic

There has been a trend to render Jesus’ name Hebrew, יֵשׁוּעַ , Yeshua. The problem is neither Christ nor his apostles, nor the Jews in 30-33 A.D. spoke Hebrew, they spoke Aramaic. A ramaic is the oldest language on earth and was the language Jesus spoke. In fact, the oldest Old Testament is the Septuagint a Greco translation around 132 B.C.E. (165 Years Before Christ)that was translated from Aramaic. The Masoretic Text, The Hebrew Old Testament most Bibles use, dates from 7th to 10th Century A.D. (Medieval Times).  This translation does not cross reference with the words of Christ in the New Testament which are Aramaic and Koine Greek.  If the Aramaic was what Jesus spoke, then by what name would have been called? Jesus’ name in Aramaic is Isho or Eesho, spelled ܝܫܘܥ . That is the name of our Lord in Aramaic! He would have heard his name in this dialect, “Hail Isho or Eesho!” as well as the Greek, Ἰ ησο ῦ ς , Iesous.  Aramaic is disappearing, only a few peop...
