Christ in a Contemporary Age

We live in such a contemporary age. Our access to knowledge and information is unprecedented. Scientists, Historians, Anthropologists, Psychologists, Archaeologists, and Theologians are making new discoveries daily. Living in a time like ours while exciting has also come with great doubt. There are many devout explorers who with their intellectual prowess and brilliance seek to erase faith. From psychology to sorcery, men and women with the answers they believe they have found claim that Christians and other religious folk are clinging to a crutch and not waking up to the Post-Modern Age of Reason. These experts say that we should embrace the bleak belief that this life is all there is and that we are a random collection of chromosomes that just happened to come into harmony.

It can be hard to make a case against these lofty and well learned people. Suddenly you are unable to cite Scripture or recall who Josephus and the other scholars who bore witness to the Truth are. As Christians we look to these 'high minded' people as frail and unable to cope with the so called reality of our existence. They tell us that the time has come to believe in ourselves and not a man who lived two thousand and fourteen years ago. They tell us through their textbooks, telecasts, and television shows that God is dead. The truth, is that God was dead. Christ died on the cross and no matter how hard these antagonists of the faith rage; they cannot erase the most significant act in history.

Even in a world so digitalized and different from 30 A.D., people continue to believe! Christ is still seen in the streets! He is on display on Cathedrals, Churches, clothing, and even inked on some people's skin! In a world that is suppose to be godless and post-modern, there are 9 Billion who profess and confess that Jesus Christ is their savior and lord! They rejected the doctrine of devils and refuse to believe this life is without purpose and without God! They know that science, psychology, mathematics, and sociology cannot explain the supernatural. The scholars of the school of Satan think that they are so wise, but God shall come to confound them; "He will make their wise as foolishness." (1 Corinthians 1:27).

God is not dead. He was, for three days; but it was to purchase our eternal salvation. He now has risen! He sits enthroned in Heaven, watching over us, communicating with us, and praying for us! I can only imagine what the first Christians are thinking in Heaven, to see us after thousands upon thousands of years still calling upon Christ and experiencing the power of the Holy Spirit! To know indeed that their sufferings were not in vain, that the evidence of their victory; Christ's victory is that we are still here!

We supposedly live in age that says man is the center of the universe. What folly! We who are weak and frail beings cannot be the measure of everything! It is Christ who is the center of history and the center of all things. He is the one time incarnation of God! The one time when the Almighty walked amongst us and humbled himself so that he may save us and have a relationship with us.

The picture featured in his post is a great illustration of how we still believe in an age of antagonism and atheism. That despite the devil's attempts to deceive us and to caste doubt with the alleged wisdom of the sages, we have held on to the Truth. That man still finds himself at the foot of the cross, looking up at God's love and weeping because he is not worthy of it, but is freely given the pardon he could never have earned. The truth is that the war against Christ in these contemporary times is a war against love. No other deity or demon humbled themselves and endured such suffering and death to save mankind from sin. What Jesus did on the cross is the ultimate act of love; "to lay down one's life for a friend." (John 15:11). Christ on the cross and Christ risen, Christ in any depiction is a manifestation of love! We ware crosses not to just signify our allegiance and thankfulness to God, but we wear it as the badge of love! That God so loved us, that he came and died for us! That is a message that transcends the ages. No matter how hard these haters of the Truth try to drown Him out, they cannot silence the eternal love with their empty and depressing theories. In truth, I do not hate atheists, agonistics, or evolutionists; rather I feel sad that they do not know God's love and that they believe things that rob them of purpose. I pray that they could know God's love which is manifest in Christ. That they would not feel so burdened by being the center of the universe.  That is a weight that no man can carry, save the God Man who is Christ Jesus.

Israel’s Conquest of Canaan: The Nephilim and Giants

Christianity Today asserts that the conquest of Canaan can be a “stumbling block” for believers. This probably is because of a foolish idea of comparing it to a modern conquest happening in our world. The truth is that God had Israel conquer Canaan because it was ruled by evil giants, “We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them.” (Numbers 13:33). These are Anakim or Nephilim, the children of angels and human women, “When man began to multiply on the face of the land and daughters were born to them, the sons of God (angels) saw that the daughters of man were attractive. And they took as their wives any they chose. Then the LORD said, “My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of man and they bore children to them. These w

Dispensationalism

John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) was a man who did two things, he took 70th week of the Book of Daniel and stretched out to the End Times, and he was the father of  Dispensationalism , a belief system that God dispenses different peoples with separate blessings and covenants. According to Darb'ys doctrine of Dispensationalism, God dispenses different covenants. There are total of seven dispensations that divide the history of man: I. Dispensation of Innocence (prior to the Fall, "Do not east of the Fruit of Good and Eve, Eden), II. Dispensation of Conscience ( You must assuage guilt and sin with blood sacrifices.) III. Dispensation of Human Government (Multiply and Subdue the world, example the Tower of Babel Gen 11:1-9, and Genesis 1:28). IV. Dispensation of the Promise (Dwell in Canaan, Jerusalem) V. Dispensation of the Law ("Obey the Law of Moses and the Prophets"). VI. Dispensation of Grace (The Church, Jesus Christ has come and died for our sins an

Jesus’ Name in Aramaic

There has been a trend to render Jesus’ name Hebrew, יֵשׁוּעַ , Yeshua. The problem is neither Christ nor his apostles, nor the Jews in 30-33 A.D. spoke Hebrew, they spoke Aramaic. A ramaic is the oldest language on earth and was the language Jesus spoke. In fact, the oldest Old Testament is the Septuagint a Greco translation around 132 B.C.E. (165 Years Before Christ)that was translated from Aramaic. The Masoretic Text, The Hebrew Old Testament most Bibles use, dates from 7th to 10th Century A.D. (Medieval Times).  This translation does not cross reference with the words of Christ in the New Testament which are Aramaic and Koine Greek.  If the Aramaic was what Jesus spoke, then by what name would have been called? Jesus’ name in Aramaic is Isho or Eesho, spelled ܝܫܘܥ . That is the name of our Lord in Aramaic! He would have heard his name in this dialect, “Hail Isho or Eesho!” as well as the Greek, Ἰ ησο ῦ ς , Iesous.  Aramaic is disappearing, only a few people are endeavo
